Summary: OVER-RATED TRASH
Review: This movie was mediocre at best.I was reading the other reviews & didn't know if I should laugh or cry.One guy was saying how Tobey Maguire was perfectly cast;I've seen more emotion out of a brick.The people that say the effects were so seemless should rush to the optometrist immediately. I mean come on,I thought I was watching a video game...from a few years ago.This movie is only slightly better than the FF movie from a few years ago.I can't believe the same company that did the effects for LOTR did these effects.Clearly they put all their energy into the far superior LOTR.Thank God Daredevil & X2 came out to wipe the bad taste of a poorly done superhero movie out of my mouth.

Summary: Give me a break!!!!
Review: sniff sniff, whats that smell? Oh that is the smell of teenagers. Can anybody tell me what this wonderful comic became? A teenie bopper movie. The CGI wasn't that good either, I mean there were tons of flick flubs with the cgi. Whats up with the organic webs?!!!?!!!! Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this movie. I just don't think it deserves the credit everyone is making over it. Personally, I think the reason everyone enjoyed this movie was that they needed to feel good about New York city again. Obviously it worked. That is why I also feel that Daredevil was not given the time or day. It was dark, and New York was referred to as, "hells kitchen". Giving New York the feeling of being dirty again. Now don't get me wrong. Spiderman made me feel great about New York again, but once I let everything settle down, I saw the movie again. I realized that the movie wasn't that good. It was good, but not how everyone makes over it. I probably should have given three stars, but I wanted to draw attention to my post, and I'm too lazy to change. Should you purchase it? Yes, but don't worship like its the best thing in the whole entire world. Then go see Daredevil!!!

Summary: YAY comic books!
Review: This was a VERY faithful adaptation of a comic book to the big screen, with a few tuneups for today's generation (the original was written going on forty years ago). That being said, it's great, it's fun, it's positive for younger and older viewers without being TOO campy. It IS a comic book. If you're expecting realism, you're not being realistic enough to consider the source. Plenty of bonus goodies with a wealth of background for all the special features fanatics. No superficial pointless plot twists, no heavy handed preachy message (although the morality lesson conveyed IS valid and tactfully done without too much browbeating), and even the sexual tension is RELATIVELY innocent for the target age group. Would it win Academy awards? Not really. Should it? Not especially. Have fun with it; that's what practically every Sam Raimi film is designed for.

Summary: Great Movie, Great DVD.
Review: Colombia/Tri-Star do make very good DVDs and when they did the DVD release of Spider-Man, it turned out to be among the best in DVD production done to date. Disk one gives you a Widescreen Good Picture/Sound Quality Print of the movie, while disk two gives you some great behind the scenes films on how the movie was done. Included are the HBO special on the making of Spider-Man, and smaller film profiles of Composer Danny Elfman and Director Sam Raimi. All of which make you appeciate the hard work that was put into the movie, and keeps you going until the release of the second movie, which is being done by the same cast and film crew.

Summary: Sticky fingers
Review: People say this movie was awsome well in my case I thought it was... I will admit the film looks is entertaining when Spider-Man swings his webs, but that cannot coverrup this disastours, bland and boring action movie. I thought this movie was going to be really awsome and cool. I am sad Marvel produced this movie, but I really enjoyed Warner Bros, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I thought this movie will make me rate it 4 stars. I hope that you do not waste your money on this stupid uncool film. IT WAS HORRRRRRIBLE!

Summary: Good Movie, Lots Of Extras
Review: Here's my movie review:
First, I'll start with a synopsis. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) starts off as a normal geek trying to get the girl of his dreams (Kirsten Dunst). He then gets bit by a spider and gains some superhero powers. He puts on a costume and turns into Spider Man, and then goes out to stop crime and face down his enemy the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), who happens to be the father of his best friend (James Franco). Well, I didn't go into great detail but you get the point.Sure, this is a souless movie blockbuster, but it grabs your attention. Two hours may be to long to sit through a movie like this, and the movie may not change you or affect your life, but their is enough action to hold you over. The actors all turn in suprisingly good performances, even a scence-stealing JK Simmons as a newspaper reporter. I reccomend this movie to anyone in need of a two hour pleasure ride. Now, on to the DVD extras. Wow, two discs of extras. There are so many extras its unbelievable. Im not going to go into great depth for each one, but there are so many that you will have to spend days if you want to see each one. Movie: 4 stars

Summary: Spider-man, Spider-man! Does whatever a spider can....
Review: This is a wonderful movie that is true to its comic book. It has followed the boundaries that were made for it. Tobey Maguire did a wonderful job as the one, the only, Spider-man! This is a movie that can hit close to home at some parts. It has so much eye candy that makes you want to watch it over and over again. The special effects were wonderful! I recommend this movie, although the plot isn't as profound or have as many hidden meanings as other movies, it's still a great find.

Summary: Spinning A Worthy Web
Review: Spider-Man is an entertaining film that is a great summertime, popcorn movie. The film explores the origins of the transformation of Peter Parker from nerdy high school student to the web slinging superhero Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire is quite good in the title role. He plays the character with the right amount of torment as an outcast who has been put down all his life, but injects pride, joy and happiness into the Peter from his newly bestowed powers. Kirtsen Dunst is Peter's next door neighbor, Mary Jane Watson. Ms. Dunst is not given much to work worth in the character, she is the requisite love interest, damsel in distress but she is appealing in the role. Willem Dafoe is plays the Green Goblin who is the villain in the film. The Goblin's alter ego is Norman Osborne who is the rich father of Harry (James Franco), Peter's best friend and roommate. Mr. Dafoe is perfectly cast as the Goblin and he handles the character's schizophrenic outbursts with creepy aplomb. Mr. Franco plays Harry sullenly and he appears as if he is moping through the picture. J.K. Simmons plays Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson as a pushy, demanding blowhard who listens only to himself with hilarious results. People have criticized the fighting and action scenes, but they are really no better or worse than most current action films. There are some Matrix like sequences with the slow motion, but these scenes actually help show Spider-Man's spider senses that allow him to anticipate and react quickly to danger. The film was a box office smash and we should expect to see numerous sequels that will hopefully be as appealing as the first installment.

Summary: Climb Web-to-Web With Spiderman.
Review: This real-life comic book movie, Spiderman is outstandingly fantastic. Tobey Maguire did an excellent job as Peter Parker/Spiderman. Along with him was Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, who Peter is desperately in love with. Willem Dafoe did great playing the evil villan, the Green Goblin. The movie is full of action-packed special effects, great action scenes and full of adventure. The movie starts out with Peter Parker (Maguire), a high school science nerd who everyone constantly picks on (even the bus driver). The first scene is Peter chasing his school bus down the street and the bus driver keeps going just to annoy him. On his fieldtrip with classmates to a science lab, a genetically altered spider that escaped from the lab comes down from a web and bites his hand while taking pictures. Now he goes home to get some rest. The next morning he wakes up and the first weird thing he notices is when he puts his glasses on he can't see. When he takes them off he can see perfectly (Remember: Spiders can't see with glasses). The next thing he notices is all of-a-sudden his body is ripped. He is suddenly very muscular like. Imagine that. The next weird thing that happens is when he chases his bus AGAIN, his hand touches the sign on the bus and it rips off with his hand. His hand is sticky (Spider's have sticky hands for gripping). It's pretty cool what happens at school with these powers. See what happens there. Now he leaves school in shock and starts to climb an alley wall with his bare hands like a Spider. Then he jumps over twenty feet building to building and then tests his web by flying with it over a gap of fifty feet. Cool! To put his powers to the test, he enrolls in a wrestling match against Macho Man Randy Savage. Will he win? Here is where the stuff hits the fan. Peter's friend Harry's father Norman Osborn is the founder os Oscorp, a science lab that invents weapons for the military. After a he does a experiment on himself to enhance human strength, it goes bad. He has an evil side now and he becomes the Green Goblin. He first blows up a test sight for some military hovercraft. Now at a huge fair that Oscorp sponsors he attacks everyone. He attempts to destroy a balcony full of people, including Harry and Mary Jane. Here comes Spiderman. The start to bash it out. Right now Spiderman wins and saves Mary Jane. Next, at the Daily Bugle where Peter works as a photographer, the Green Goblin comes and demands to know who takes the photos of Spiderman. Spiderman shows up and the Green Goblin makes Spiderman fall asleep with some kind of gas. Goblin offers Spiderman a truce to join forces and of course he turns it down. Now that Spiderman turned the offer down, the Goblin finds out who he is and goes after the people he loves. Here is the final bash. Goblin has Spiderman at his knees because on top of the Brooklyn bridge, Goblin holds Mary Jane over on edge of the bridge on one side. On the other side, he holds a wire that is connected to a transportation cab full of people. He drops both. NOW HERE GOES SPIDERMAN! Can he actually do both? Now I'll let you know Goblin is really angry that he lost. Now they finally have it out. First Goblin drops a small bomb next to Spiderman and cuts him badly and rips half his mask off. Now he has to use his Spider webs to pull a wall down on Goblin and it comes down to the last straw. To the DEATH! Punch after punch Spiderman attacks Goblin. Now, I'll let you see for yourself how Spiderman saves the day. I hope this review is very helpful to you. If you like Spiderman you have to see this real-life movie. Excellent Special Effects! Excellent Action Scenes! Also an EXCELLENT job by the actors. Especially Maguire and Dafoe. See how Spiderman went from being a nerd to a Superhero.

Summary: He webs, he scores!!
Review: Peter Parker is a nerd barely accepted by the in crowd of his school, when he's bitten by a radioactive spider during a class trip. Though he begins noticing changes immediately (whoa - I thought I was past that phase!!), he's too infatuated with the lovely Mary-Jane "MJ" Watson (Kirsten Dunst) to pay attention for long. Soon he's planning on capitalizing on his new found post-puberty. As Spider-fans know, Peter pays for his capitalist intentions, and learns the hard way how his new power brings new responsibilities. Meanwhile, Norm Osborn, the embattled head of a high-tech defense contractor, goes slightly loony when subjecting himself to a chemical process designed to turn men into perfect killing machines. Donning a mask and acquiring a split personality and an arsenal of high-tech, Osborn becomes the evil "Green Goblin". As Peter remakes Spiderman into a crime-fighting hero, Osborn's Goblin eliminates his business rivals. While not in disguise, Osborn is the somewhat off-center CEO and kind-hearted father of Peter's best friend - which fatefully brings him close enough to learn Parker's deepest secrets. The movie works up to a climactic battle near Roosevelt Island where Peter must battle until their masks are stripped away. Though I haven't bought an issue of "Spiderman" this century, this fast-moving flick brought the whole experience back. Though a lot of "Spiderman" draws on the comic series (and also turns up the fun for Sam Raimi fans), and much of the rest is generic comic book-turned big flashy movie fodder (hero must learn that much power brings loads of responsibility; the bad guy must destroy the hero, but not before trying to turn him to the dark side in the standard "we've got a lot more in common than you think" spiel) there's more than enough fun left over for the rest of us. Sam Raimi keeps the action pumping, while never losing sight of his main characters. The script surrounds Parker with characters that figured heavily in Parker's comic-art life - and even if you won't recognize Betty Brant or Robbie Robertson's characters, or think that "Flash" Thompson is just a school bully tossed in for Peter to get the better of, you at least get the sense that Raimi has something in mind for them. Not to nit-pick, but it's also that unending sense of imminent surprise that grounds this flick - especially in the second half. It's a problem because, Raimi touches aside (Bruce Campbell in a small but pivotal cameo; Raimi's trademark power-zoom camera-work; that Oldsmobile from "Evil Dead" and "Army of Darkness") the story is more faithful to the superhero formula than the original comic was. Willem Dafoe is good as Osborn, but the character is not - once he's split, he's less than the sum of two parts (if Goblin is his own persona, what's the point of having him give pointers to Osborn?). Though the original Spiderman relied on some detective smarts, the script here doesn't even attempt to put Parker on Osborn's trail (you'd think he would have seen a connection between Goblin and his murder of Osborn's business rivals). But, like I said, there's more than enough fun here even for those who never picked up a copy of "The Amazing Spiderman". This is obviously the same movie Raimi wanted to make about a decade ago, when he helmed "Darkman" (the last few minutes of each film are essentially the same) and it was well worth the wait.
