Review: This newest re-release of the first X-Men movie is just a waste of time and money. ALl that it is is just more added deleted scenes that were not put into the film itself. A complete and total waste of time. I HATE deleted scenes and they should've just re-issued this movie as an extended version like they did with "Lord Of The Rings" and incorporated the deleted scenes into the "X-Men" movie itself. If it was like that, I would've gone after 1.5 but it isn't and I'm so iffed at wasting my money on this after owning the older DVD. It's really a great DVD but don't buy this if you have the older DVD edition of htis movie. The only reason I'm praising this is because the movie itself is excellent and is really important to see even if you don't like it because it sends out a very clear message of what discrimination and prejudice will lead to if not dealt with. Patrick Stewert is absolutely PERFECT as Professor Xavier and Ian McKellan IS MAGNETO!! These two are the best in this movie and Huge Jackman was made for the role of Wolverine. The rest while not bad aren't as remarkable in my opinion. I would be ticked if they recasted the X-Men franchise should they make many more in the future. Definately rent htis movie but only buy this 1.5 edition if you don't yet have it on DVD. If you already have the older one, stick with it. There's nothing worth spending more money on on the 1.5 edition. End of story.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: Awesome! An abundance of superpowers, and yet, not overdone. Better than I expected. I went to this movie because my husband wanted to see it but ended up liking it even more than he did and bought it as soon as it came out. Lots of great action and acting, attractive and talented actors, love, and a well written story. More of a plot than you find in many action films. I've never read comic books but I find myself really liking comic book movies (Spiderman, Batman, Superman, etc.). And although the fight scenes are a bit intense for younger viewers, it really is a great family movie- virtually no swearing and no sex scenes or distasteful innuendos that pervade so many movies nowadays.

Summary: A Good Beginning
Review: World`s favorite mutants get their first movie and the result is convincing enough to deserve a watch. Bryan Singer, a repectable and innovative director ("The Usual Suspects", "Apt Pupil") shows enough respect and knowledge about the franchise and creates an entertaining and meaningful action movie, wich steps above many run-of-the-mill empty blockbusters with repeated ideas. The director expertly showcases the X-Universe, setting the mood and tone for the sequels to come.
Although this is sci-fi material, in a way it`s depicted in a realistic, believable manner, as the characters and their envoironment seem credible and not too fantasy-like creations. Singer developed a serious tone for this universe, avoiding the childish and irritating tendencies of the latter Batman movies. The plot focuses mainly on Wolverine and Rogue, so unfortunately the rest of the characters aren`t too developed, but given that this is the first movie of a series it works well enough. "X-Men" is intelligent, creative sci-fi, a solid movie with good direction, competent special effect (used just when necessary, avoiding useless explosions and fights), an efficient plot and a talented cast. Not a masterpiece, just a good comic-book adaptation (in fact, it`s probably one of the best).
The ending result should please fans and non-fans alike, altough it would be surpassed by its sequel, "X2", a better and more sucessful movie. Worthwile entertainment (and though-provoking, too).

Summary: These guys no how to make a dvd
Review: First off, I'll discuss the movie. I consider myself a comic reader, and although the X-men have never been a favorite of mine, there have still been great stories. This film stays pretty true to the comics. And I think it's a solid effort. I love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. And really, could anyone else play Professor X? Patrick Steweart is perfect. Rogue's role is taken down for this movie, she serves no purpose such as fighting, she's there to enhance the story mostly. I think Anna's great. Overall, a good, decent effor by Brian Singer and cast. Now the dvd. WOW. UNBELIEVABLE. I think this is the greatest collection of bonus features in a dvd that I have ever seen. There's so much to go through, you'll be sitting there for hours. The DTS soundtrack is great, as is the Dolby of course. Video is near perfect. A DVD collector's dream. I would rate the film 4, but with these extras it just has to be bumped up to 5.

Summary: One of the best comic adaptations to date
Review: One of the best and most mature comic book adaptations to date, Director Bryan Singer grounds the X-Men story in reality so well that the viewer instantly accepts the bizarre (or should I say uncanny?) powers that the mutants display. Although I never read the X-Men comics as a boy, I had a sense of the main characters and some idea of what to expect going into the film. After watching the film, however, I was dazzled not only by the dazzling special effects, but also how well the ensemble cast of theatrical heavy hitters (Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, and Rebecca Romjin-Stamos, to name a few) blended their performances. Like the X-Men themselves, the whole of the cast is significantly greater than the sum of its parts. Even people who may have been turned off by other "superhero" movies that require a bit more suspension of disbelief have commented that not only was X-Men interesting, it also conveys an obvious message of tolerance for those who are different, which was Stan Lee's original intent when he created the characters. I waited for version 1.5 to be released before I actually purchased this DVD, and although 1.5 does provide a second disc of extra features, I didn't find them all that interesting except for the preview of X2, which by now, of course is already also on DVD. Apart from slightly nicer packaging, I can't say that X1.5 is significantly better than its earlier release, but hey, the marketing ploy obviously worked-I bought it!

Review: Read the comic book series and pass this tepid release from 20th Century Fox. This, along with "Spiderman" (2002), are fine examples of why big-budget Hollywood should step aside and let the comics speak for themselves.

Summary: Excellent Comic Book on the Silver Screen...
Review: Every millennia evolution seems to skip a little and in one generation it seems like human genetic combination is effected by something called the X-Factor. The X-Factor seems to cause extreme mutation in human beings by giving them supreme powers such as physical attributes, telekinesis, and regeneration. These mutations seems to cause fear among "normal" humans and the fear is fueled by politicians and their personal interests. Magneto, a Holocaust survivor with a mutation causing him to have control of metals, sees a danger for mutants in the future and therefore attempts to strike. This is something that Professor Charles Xavier sees and decides to prevent with the help of the X-men Storm, Cyclops, Dr. Jean Grey, and the newly arrived Wolverine. X-Men is an entertaining event that holds valuable moral lessons within the film, which is based on the comic book with the same name. The many subplots in the film develop a fascinating story that keeps the audience glued to the chair as the tale unfolds around the major plot that offers a truly fantastic cinematic experience.
