Summary: Not much story, but plenty of fun
Review: Mutants both evil and good find themselves on the run when the evil General Stryker (Bryan Cox) devises a plan to rid Earth of their kind. The plot, such as it is, exists mostly as a framing device for a succession of spectacular scenes in which the mutants from the first film, along with some new ones, engage in a series of battles, pursuits, and narrow escapes. Director Bryan Singer and the screenwriters pack in as many mutants as possible and pepper the film with brief, efficient, effective character moments. The result is less a cohesive story than a game of "Spot That Mutant," but it is very entertaining nevertheless. It was fun to see Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) as such a prominent character; he was my favorite X-Man when I was a kid. Colossus makes a brief but tantalizing appearance as well; hopefully, we'll see more of him in the next film. If you're looking for a noisy, action-packed good time, this is the film for you.

Summary: Can Cyclops ever get a spotlight?
Review: For starters, I loved X-Men sooooooo much. It Is one of the best movie of the year. The movie is great I'll say, but they just didn't seems to give Cyclops any spotlight in the 2nd one. Is like they just brushed him off. All they give him is a little bit at the beggining scence with Logan, the part with Death strike and the Professor, and at the end is where he FINALLY gets the soptlight when someone who happens to be one of his closest friend(Jean) was gone. I hope they give him more spotlight in the 3rd one. I think it will be a great return scence for Jean if Cyclops was in great danger and was greatly injured, and then Jean suddenly appears to rescued him and get him safetly to the mansion. I got to say this, X-Men 2 is one of a kind movie with one of the best special effect ever been made. If you like action movie, You'll loved X-Men 2: United, this time they really UNITED together against their greatest foe yet, the military scientist, the human rival, WILLIAM STRYKER.

Summary: Excellent
Review: This was an excellent movie...i would describe it as Star Trek on land, and the people have build in weapons. The X-Men are back once again and the characters from the 1st are back, plus some additional ones. This is one movie where the sequel is actually better than the original!

Summary: X-trordinary!!!!!
Review: This movie was different from the first, in that the "need" to see it again wasn't instant like the first, it settles, like a great steak and fine wine, and you savor it, then you feel the need to have it again! I'm not a x-men comic reader, so the first movie caught me off guard and made me need more... X2 delivers!!! It shouldn't be compared to StarWars... It should be compared more to Star Trek because it has the staying power to last, the human (sorry) element, and the potential to have unlimited sequels! The movie gives you bigger and better in a whole different way than the first, you get the emotional drama of the characters, the power and driven action you crave, and more Wolverine! Snikt!!! This movie is like a rollarcoaster that keeps moving, twisting, and taking you to new heights.... and just like the ride, you are still absorbing events and digesting it long after you get home! My only question is... WHEN WILL IT BE OUT ON DVD???!!!?!? There are no second run theaters near me, and it's a four to six hour drive to see it in the first place..... so I'm dying here :) send the DVD so I can relish a fourth viewing! And please Sign the core cast up for X3! Add whomever you want but please lock the core group into at least three more contracts! ;) Hugh, James, Halle, Famke, Patrick, Anna, Shawn, Ian, Rebecca :) (Gambit would be a great addition ;) ) Just sign me up to get X3 DVD now as well :) I know I can't go wrong with a X movie by Singer!

BTW Mr. Singer! If you could do Marvel's Origin series as a movie :) that would be great.... I can't seem to get a break and read those, don't want to own them just read them... unfortunately I can't get comics out here in stores either :) Great job and Thank you!

Summary: Excellent but not up to standards
Review: This movie is excellent up to the extent that the mutant are trying to get the normal humans to understand them. But they could have polished up their mind control tricks, but other than that, overall this movie was extra-ordinary. Enjoy it if you haven't seen it yet.

Summary: X2 Exceeds X1
Review: X2. WOW!!! What can I say? From the very beginning of Nightcrawler's attack on the White House, to the Surprise Ending. X2 is the complete formula for what a Summer Blockbuster should be all about!

The movie is great! All of the original cast of X1 (except the deceased) returns in the sequel. Which was great to see, because if even one person was missing from the movie, this film would not have been as great. We also have some new characters in the group, both good and bad such as: Nightcrawler, Lady Deathstrike and Colossus just to name a few.

With a bigger budget and a bigger cast, the FX of X2 is completely out there. As I said, the first 10 minutes of the movie is very intense and left me speechless. It was Awesome. I was also very impressed at the story of this second movie. Waiting 3 years, everyone has changed and are all evololving differently, from looks to powers. But, what really got to me was how strong and mature X2 is. The characters are equally put forward, which was good to see since this is a big cast with many things going on at once, everyone is well organised and is put on the screen equally (sometimes). But, overall X2 has everything I wanted that X1 didn't.

X1 was more of an introduction for the audiences to get to know what these characters are dealing with in society (it also lacked a bit on the action). As for X2, it showed that, with way more punches to keep the audiences involved. Bryan Singer, directs the film, once again, with complete honesty and respect for each character and really empathises with them. He shows that he has a certain connetion with this movie and Is really trying to be faithful to the comic book series. Overall an Excellent Achivement. Good Work Bryan!

The ending was very emotional and unexpected. The performances are great! With Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart being the best as always. Brian Cox is a great addition, to the talented cast, as the mean villain Stryker, ready to get revenge. Halle Berry, fresh from her Academy win, is showing off her best talent. So is Famke Jansen, James Marsden, Anna Pacquin and the incredible Hugh Jackman.

Overall, X2 is a cool and fun film. While it is a more serious story that the first, it also has some major jokes to keep the audiences laughing. So Go see X2 and see what has evolved in the evolution.

Summary: Xcellent
Review: Amazingly, Brian Singer has made a sequel that is far superior to its predecessor. From the opening titles you are gripped and drawn into the world of the mutants and Stryker, and part way through, you realise you actually CARE about some of the characters. Nightcrawler is done to perfection, something rare in a comic book translation (check out wolverine's lack of musculature....) and even the existing characters improve in small ways throughout the film! I cannot wait for the next installment, and wonder who will be introduced this time around (anyone note Remy Le Beau's name???)

Summary: Good, but bias has caused some unnecessary hype.
Review: Let me start off by saying that I did NOT read any of the X-Men comic books. Though some may claim that this discredits my opinion, I would like to think it adds some merit, seeing as I am not subject to the bias of already being familiar with these characters and having an affinity for the storyline.

I was impressed with the original movie and was looking forward to the sequel. After seeing it, I would call it ambitious, but it did not fulfill all of the expectations I had after hearing all of the hype. So here are the cons:

1. The villain is mediocre at best. I understand he was from the comics, but on the big screen, the bottom line is we have one mere human facing a league of nearly omnipotent superheroes. Throughout the entire 2+ hours, his defeat seemed inevitable. I can understand that he also had the side duty of presenting us with new information regarding Wolverine. But I'll say this much: what we do learn from him is far from revolutionary.

2. Cyclops remains a shallow character and nearly useless ally. What good is a hero whose power could be replaced by a gun?

3. Although we have increased development of Storm and Wolverine and an introduction to the memorable Nightcrawler, there is not enough with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan. As the two most distinguished actors in the lineup, I would have liked to see them interact more with the other characters.

This may make it sound as if I found more con's with the movie than pros. However, I will not discredit the incredible special effects and wonderful deepening of the characters of Storm and Wolverine, as well as the statement of the treatment of mutants and their stance in society, which serves as an allegory for countless sociological dichotomies that have existed throughout history.

To conclude, it was a decent movie. However, unless you're a die-hard fan of the comics, I would suggest waiting for the rental. It is indeed worth viewing, at least for the character development. Hopefully their next effort will produce a more well-rounded movie. And how about an antagonist that's as powerful or even more so than the X-Men? Now that would be worth viewing.

Summary: X2-Could've been better...Could've been worse.
Review: Overall this movie was a pretty good. It had no doubt great effects and a good plot. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because there was too much talking. In my opinion the talking should have been left to the first move, to explain more about the background of the original X-Men, not just Wolverine and Rogue. I was also dissapointed because it didn't show Beast or Gambit, and showed very little of some mutants like Colossus. Beast was shown breifly in a bar seen on TV but he wasn't mutated yet. But I would definitely reccomend people to see this, but for those of you who are unfamiliar with X-men, then you might want to get a little bit of an education first because the talk in this movie gives no background on anyone.
