Summary: B-O-R-I-N-G..................
Review: Ang Lee should stick to what he knows best....boring flicks about boring kung-fu crap. Why they EVER tapped him to direct this I have absolutely NO idea. Why did he have to try to turn this into a "serious art-flick"? I do like "serious" movies, but not when they pertain to SUPERHEROES!! GIVE ME A BREAK!! To make us wait an hour before we get to see any sort of action involving the Hulk himself is just unforgivable. It was FAR too little, FAR too late. Had the movie been directed by someone who knows what the heck he's doing regarding superheroes, perhaps things would have been different. I am sad to say that I definitely will not be purchasing it upon it's release on DVD.

Summary: Disappointing 'Hulk', overridden by CGI effects
Review: HULK is a disappointment, being based on the Marvel comicbook, which has had a few successful runner-ups (i.e. SPIDER-MAN, DAREDEVIL). HULK gets off to a good start about a scientist recovering from childhood demons and seeing his estranged father, and not just about a mean, green man who breaks things. It surely doesn't sink on its cast; Jennifer Connelly shows deep emotion as she did in A BEAUTIFUL MIND, with some a sincere face and a real actress for drama. Where it goes wrong is with the overlength in which it just goes on and on and on, until you realize you've just watched an estimate of three (yes, three, count em' yourself) climaxes. Plus, a superhero film, like this one that had potential, should include humor, but HULK is just dry and humorless. And the real downer here are surprisingly the special effects;the green giant just looks so unlife-like as he swings from mountain to mountain in the climatic (the first one) desert sequence, and don't get me to laugh but also when he takes down that helicopter. HULK maddeningly suffers from wooden antagonisers as well. This made me very angry!Save the embarassment from turning green after you see what I mean.

Summary: The Hulk In Name Only
Review: The Hulk in this movie is not the Hulk comic fans know, that's for sure. Plenty of other reviews here will tell you how the story is off the mark, so I'll concentrate on something not many mentioned: The Hulk is around 20 feet tall in this movie.

In the comics, the Hulk gets stronger the madder he gets, which is usually when he's getting worked over. In this movie he expands in size when he gets hit with bullets, and he can't be harmed. This transforms the movie from a Frankenstein-like story to a King Kong-like story, which is far less interesting. The Hulk is even animated as if they were trying to make him look like the claymation used in the original Kong.

Finally, Hulk not talk which made Chris mad and made Chris want to smash stupid movie seat. And take green paper back from red faced dirty kid who took green paper to sit on dirty chair too long!!!

Review: First of all these 1 star reviewers don't know what a bad movie is! The movie they had in mind was a simple plotted action movie with non stop violence and a thrill a minute special effects. I know that for a fact, because that is what I expected. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the lousy director. He had no sense of screen direction at all! The story does drag a bit, and the acting was pretty bad. I'd say rent this. Not a complete waste of time. Better time spent watching this then talking with you family right?

Summary: PUNY HUMAN
Review: Bruce Banner is not aware of who or what he is. But a freak accident at his lab, where he gets a solid jolt of gamma radiation, unlocks the secret that lurks within him. A big, green terrible secret. Seems that Bruce's father David (the name given the Hulk's human counterpart on the TV show) was experimenting with himself and passed on certain genetic alterations to his son. The genetic anomoly coupled with the radiation now makes Banner transform into a hulking monster whenever he becomes angry.

But The Hulk is not the typical smash and trash slug fest. It chooses to focus on the human element and, in the long run, will be far stronger for it. There would be more classic comic book movies if they treated the material as seriously as this movie does. Highly recommended.

Summary: Lou Ferrigno cameo! Ready for HULK 2.
Review: I so awaited anxiously for this HULK film since I heard about it a year ago. Well, it took them a whole hour just for story-telling. Slow-moving and boring. Jennifer Connelly wasn't interesting to me. All the actors looked pale. The color of the film look faded. But the most exciting of the film is the CGI HULK in raging action. However, some scenes go by so fast you don't get to absorb every frame. Nighttime scenes and underwater scenes are too dark to see what is going on. That's a waste of CGI. The HULK is only seen for a total of 20 to 30 minutes. Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno are in a cameo appearance. It would have been nice to have given Mr. Ferrigno a funny bit to do to remind us of his HULK days. This film is nothing like "The Incredible Hulk" tv-series (1978-1982) that starred Bill Bixby (may he rest in peace) and Lou Ferrigno. The tv series had emotion. I enjoyed the ending of this HULK film with the hope that there will be a HULK 2. Now that the story-telling is out of the way, we can move on to more action in HULK 2. As Lou Ferrigno would probably agree with: Give the Hulk more screen time.

Summary: Bad Choice of Director + Bad Subject = Bad Movie
Review: First off, I used to be an avid comic reader but I NEVER read The Hulk on a regular basis because it was always about what he broke or who he beat up. Hulky boy was never that interesting to me, no matter what Stan Lee says.

As I expected, the movie made all the wrong moves due, in large part, to Ang "I can make a boring kung-fu movie and everyone will think that it is a big deal" Lee. Audiences sat through long periods of Banner's whining and bouts of deep introspection to finally see the Hulk bust out and bust heads. Too little too late. The Mean Green Machine does'nt show up in the film for almost an hour, that is WAY too long.

Like I said, there is nothing to the Hulk character, what made him interesting were the donneybrooks he had with comic heavyweights like Thor, Iron Man, The Thing. The whole child abuse angle was ridiculous too.

It makes me wonder: Kung-fu films, now comic-based movies; is there any movie genre that Ang Lee can't ruin?

Summary: A great movie!
Review: Hulk is very good movie.
There are a lot of action and suspense. You never get bored.
It's hard to guess the end.
The special effect are very realistic.
There is not very violence, we don't see blood... And that's great.
The actors act very well.
I highly recommended it !

Review: I was excited when I first heard of the Hulk movie. I also heard David Hayter subbmitted a script to this.{For those of you going uuuuuuhhhUUUHHHH?????? He was the script writer for X-men}
Any way, When I saw it there was an inovated camera angle to complete that comic book feel. It shows seperate camera angles to reflect everyone's expression. Like when that [not so popular] guy left bruce's office it showed a panel of THAT GUY in one corner Bruce in the background and Betty Ross in the right corner. I enjoyed that very much.
Okay to get to the story of The Hulk it's about this guy named Bruce Banner who works in a lab studying gamma radiation and how it could be used to heal. Well no luck so far.
At the beggining it gives a good backstory and some fore-shadowing...
Anyway one day in the lab Bruces college is in the lab trying to fix something on the gamma ball {or whatever it is} and a wire shorts out causeing something to go haywire Bruce saves his friend but takes a full blast of the radiation.
Anyway to some pessimest, this movie wasn't satisfying enough for them. I found it great but with 1 flaw. He didn't transform into the Hulk enough. BUT DON"T WORRY PESSIMEST THERE WILL BE AND ACTION-PACKED SEQUAL!!![.]

Summary: So, what are you complaining about?
Review: I found that some people didn't like the Hulk that much because they expected it to be a standard random action thriller, something set up for the kids much like Spider-Man seemed to be (judging by the amount of people in the movie theater who brought their little ones to the show). They must have been taken by surprise when they discovered that the movie is, in fact, more of a psychological study than anything. People don't like being deceived (be it purposefully or not), and therefore panned the movie.

I thought it was a great movie. I agree it dragged a little in the beginning, but you can't just bring the Hulk in out of nowhere in the first half-hour and have him break stuff for two hours; that would be stupid. Everything in the movie is carefully laid out so that whatever the monster does has a meaning to it. The audience is required to use their brain, which I know is awfully difficult for many moviegoers.

As for the comic purists, well, you can't have the Leader or the Abomination in the first movie. There's really no reason for them to be there, unless it's foreshadowing for a possible sequel. It doesn't make sense to have all these extravagant storylines in the first time out, because it clutters the story. I've followed the comic for a while now, and I think it was a succesful translation. In the end, no matter what you think about the movie, as with all other Marvel-based films, there's no denying that the creators at least care about the material (not like Warner Brother's terrible Batman movies).

Basically, this is a movie that requires you to think, something for a viewer of any age who has at least a decent attention span. It's not a formulaic action movie, nor is it a throwaway "superhero" flick. It's a fine tragedy with a good amount of action and intrigue. If your tastes are so limited that you won't watch it without any petty preconceptions, then watch something else. Your loss.
