Summary: Let's just hope BLADE 3 will be like this
Review: I like this movie, i like blade, i like the story, i like blade 2. But the Blade series is slowly slipping into the while Batman downfall. Blade 2 started it all, where the filmakers give us less story and plot and mystery, and exchange it for flashy gaudy colorful sets and mindless action. In batman 1, the color scheme was simple, black, white, and grey. It had a sort of haunting theme to it, which i liked a lot. In blade 2, we are with black and white and gray, with a little bit of tan thrown into it. Which also creates the haunting effect of a good movie. Then batman made Batman returns and batman forever, and if u didn't notice, batman turned into a haunting superhero to nothing but a kids action figure. I just hope in blade 3 they stick to the same story and plot line, and give it some of the same color scheme that made the first blade movie so scary and likeable. Hopefully you people will know what i mean.

Summary: A Great Horror/action flick
Review: This was a great movie. I first saw this when i was like 11 or something (now im 15), and then i thought it was a very gory movie, with all the blood and stuff. Now i 've gotten past that and realized this is a very inventful and well written action adventure movie. It pits Blade played by wesley snipes, against deacon frost, a crazy vampire. The action scenes are awesome, at first, you might just think of this as your average shoot-em up action movie. But this has car chases, martial arts battles, swordfights, and gunfights.
The equipment blade uses in these intense situations only enhances this movie. Everything from his signature silver sword, to his automatic pistol, and his trusty shotgun with silver stakes. This movie is far superior to blade 2. Blade 2 was nothing but action. Not that it's a bad thing, but in this movie, after the first couple action scenes, they start building up a nice little plot, like the whole familiar's and blood bank stuff, and discovering la magra, and trying to capture blade, and the whole stickin his mom in the middle of everything. in blade 2, after they find out the problem (the reapers), they just go after them two times in a row, without advancing the plot. The finale was great, but what was blade fighting for? he seemed to be fighting just because he got bored and felt like killing a bunch of people.
that's why blade works so much better than the sequel. We got great characters, like blade, whistler, deacon frost, his mom, that guy from grounded for life, they all added a great part into the movie. In blade 2, we get the blood pack, which honestly looks really stupid. they're supposed to be some tactical military trained group, and they're just a bunch of dumb idiots who swear a lot. wtf? and Blade's love interest? she did nothing in this movie. she couldn't even kill one darn thing in this movie. and
anyways, this is a really great movie. it is a great adventure.

Summary: Leader of the Pack
Review: Most vampire movies have a lack of internal consistency. They break thier own rules with cavalier disregard for a reasonably intelligent viewer. However, not only does Blade stay consistent, but it also obeys its own crazy logic from beginning to end. Wesley Snipes turns in a physically demanding and catlike performance, and Kris Kristofferson plays Whistler with a sort of gleeful, ironic abandon that is a pleasure to watch. Stephen Dorff is the quintessential vampire gang-leader, and his sidekicks turn in plenty of comic relief. (Note: I particularly enjoyed the 'naughty vampire god' bit.)It's a shame N'bushe Wright isn't better-known, after her performance in 'Fresh', which was a completely flawless movie. She is believable and winning in this film, despite lines that are patently laughable sometimes. She really shines in the last twenty minutes of 'Blade.' The bottom line is, this vampire movie happens to stand alone as an action flick to rival the best of Hong Kong's action flicks. It's worth renting for the fight scenes alone, and is a proud addition to the long and venerable line of vampire films. Happy viewing!

Summary: we hope they dont make a blade 3.....
Review: i really loved blade 1. it pulled off what most other movies based on comic books couldnt. it was rated R and had a very serious note. i know that its not actually THAT serious, seeings that its about a vampire slayer. but it just has something about it. its very dark and VERY stylish. the villains are super-evil. i have to give props to stephen dorff. he was the best part of this movie. this movie didnt have much comedy. and i liked it like that. i think its better left dark and scary.
now blade 2 on the other hand......what in the hell were they thinking? its like they took blade and sent him on a vacation in the bahama's and he came back as a completely different person. he is totally different. he's got a sense of humor and he smiles and laughs. whats that about? blade is supposed to be tortured. what happened? and then they bring in thse....things....reapers or something? they drink blood like a crack head snorts coke. if you recall that idiotic scene when the main reaper sticks a vial in some guys neck and drinks it through the vial.
the soundtrack was pretty bad... though... but i liked the mixture of techno and hip-hop. kinda making a downbeat trip-hop. i liked 2 things about blade 2. 1: the effects(not counting the ones where they make the mongol vampires climb around like monkey's)i liked the reaper effects. when they opened they're mouths. now that was cool. 2: this sounds dumb but i really have to give norman reedus props for pulling off the role of "scud". lol. he was hilarious. they made a mistake of using him though because i saw him and immediately thought it was stephen dorff. they look alot alike.
anyways.....punchline: blade 2 was a [bad]. we hope they dont make a blade 3. blade 1 rocks.

Summary: A great movie, but not enough action
Review: This is an action movie , don't get me wrong, but this movie should've cut down the movies screen time by atleast 15 minutes or so. This movie is about 110 minutes or so, and it has about the same amount of action that a 90 minute movie has. That extra 20 minutes aint helping it...Most good action ,movies have a pre-fight where the hero encounters the villain , but none of them dies, they just test eachother's strengths and weeknesses, like in blade 2, blade and Nomak meet and have a fight, but none of them is elimated. In face/off, the 2 characters meet several times, but never kill eachother until the end. They could've added the bad dude into the fight so blade and him could've gotten a taste of eachother before they actually killed eachother. But anyways, could've been better.

Review: There can be only 1... wait.. wrong movie. so. Blade. What is there to say? Wesley Snipes is good. convincing even. I was impressed with him. But that does not constitute a good reason to buy or even watch this movie. lots of action. minimal story. pretty useless. Go find a nice cheesy romance to watch with your special someone. Gentlemen prefer blonds, perhaps. you have a life. dont waste 2 hours on this. josh

Summary: One of the best
Review: In the time since Blade released(4 years)no other comic movie has managed to surpass it in action, story, or direction. No. Not even the incredible Spider-Man. In fact, the only other superhero film to best it would be Superman: the movie. Since there have been so many reviews on the film itself, I'll stick to commenting on the extras. First up: a commentary by the producer/star, writer, star, and I believe editor, I may be wrong, so please forgive any error. It's a very fact filled commentary, and very interesting. You'll surely dig this one. Next, is a few liitle documentarys on vampires and the fights, even one on some of the effects. Very cool stuff. Finally, there's a trailer and various trinkets. For a Dvd that's four years old, this is stacked and nowadays, you can get this [very inexpensively], so, I suggest you do just that.

Summary: Bad to the Bone
Review: Good action vampire stories, whether written, drawn or on film are just plain hard to find. For a while now the 'not quite bad' vampire and even the 'good' vampire have been fashionable. Not that I have anything against Angel or Henry Fitzroy and their ilk, but sometimes you want a story with a clear division between good and evil and a lot of knock them down and stake them action. Enter Blade. Blade is a half vampire with a very nasty attitude toward his relatives on the dark side. Played by Wesley Snipes, he has all the moves and attitude you could ever want. His partner in his war against the things that did in his mother is Abraham Whistler (Kris Kristofferson). Later, Karen (N'Bushe Wright) a forensic hematologist who has the bad luck to find a vampire on her table, joins them. Opposing this team is Frost (Steven Dorff), a vampire rebel who thinks it is time for the un-people with pointy teeth to come out of the closet. His plan is simple. Take over the vampire council, capture Blade and resurrect La Magra - the blood god. Then there will be nothing but vampires and bloodsicles. 'Blade' is an extremely violent film. Almost everyone is a martial arts expert, has access to what the US Congress would consider weapons of mass destruction, or is a victim. Sometimes, they are all three. Toss in a sufficiency of special effects, great settings, and good acting and you have the film. What makes 'Blade' work is its intense focus. It works hard at being exactly what it is - an action film with a strong 'wow' factor. Sometimes that is exactly what you need. Steven Norrington, a director considerable experience in the horror/science fiction genre, has a great sense of what it takes to make comic book characters come to life on the screen. He manages to retain the strong visual impact of the original Marvel Comics series. David Goyer's script manages to capture the essence of comic book dialogue - sparse, but not stilted. The overall effect is a film that builds smoothly from start to ending, with very few slow moments. The extras on the DVD are surprisingly good. Good sized features on the concepts and effects that went into the film, the story of the Blade comic, and an interesting survey of the vampire in human imagination. In addition, there is an extensive running commentary for the film. All of these are intelligently done. I think 'Blade,' despite its violence, will appeal a wide range of viewers as something more than just another Hong Kong fight film wannabe.

Summary: A fantastic disappointment
Review: Power-hungry vampire Dorff plans to resurrect an ancient blood god by using the blood of the "Day-walker", a half-man, half-vampire warrior named Blade (Snipes) who's the blood-sucker's most feared enemy. Ultra-graphic with some of the most stylish martial-arts scenes filmed in American cinema, but after an incredible start the film becomes silly and in-jokey and ends rather appallingly. Based on the comic book.

Summary: Snipes, the Perfect 'Blade'
Review: Smooth as a motha, Wesley Snipes plays the half-vampire, half-human. He is a 'daywalker' and he slays vampires (just because) at night. You scratch his sunglasses, it's your buttocks. Deacon Frost (pasty white boy) wants to become the ultimate vampire, so Blade must stop him. I don't know what the fat blob of a kid was all about, but it was disgusting. It looked like a huge pile of mashed potatoes with a face. Blade slices and dices many and people will get a kick out of the red shower at the beginning of the movie. "There are worse things out there besides vampires, me," said Blade. Damn right. This is definitely one of the coolest vampire movies ever.
