Summary: Extra stuff rules!
Review: Some parts of the extra stuff on the second disk is tedious, such as when what seems like the entire production staff introduces themselves, but the rest is great! My personal favorites include a seaman's song backstage near the flooded island/first metal apparatus appearance scene and Famke Janssen and James Marsden impersonating each other. The optional commentary on the first disk is also very interesting to listen to once you've got the storyline down.

Summary: What a waste of my money
Review: I am a lifelong X-men fan, and the first theatrical release of these costumed was not up to my expectations. But this DVD release of 1.5 was a total waste of time and money. I expected to see many things that they didn't have time for in the original film, but the deleted scenes were a complete joke. Some were just a 10 second addition, others a different angle (of the same scene), and some were essentially the same garbage as from before.

The only positive for this DVD is the behind the scenes shots of when they were making the movie. But these were all previously released on home television on the Entertainment Channel's "Behind the Scenes" show when the film hit the theaters.

Bottem line: If you like the film, buy the original and save yourself at least five bucks. But in my opinion you'd be better off to save your money and purchase the sequel (X-Men 2.0) when it's released to home video - it's a much better film.

Summary: X-ceptional
Review: "X-Men 1.5" delivers a ton of goods. Not only do you get a great action/adventure film, you get a lot of extras that you don't normally get with DVDs. I won't go into a lot of detail on the special features, just know that each featurette is unique in its own way. I'd rather talk about the film.

"X-Men" is a brilliant movie considering that the majority of the cast and the director knew little or nothing about the comic book and its cast of mutants. Perhaps that is what makes it so good. "Spiderman" was directed by Sam Raimi, who admitted to loving Spidey. He presented that film as a comic book on the big screen and pulled it off with near perfection. Mr. Singer, however, seems to delve more into the complexities of the individual characters in "X-Men." This film seems more like a fresh, new idea instead of an homage to the "uncanny" heroes and heroines I enjoyed reading about as a child and teenager.

If you know nothing of the "X-Men," you will not be lost in this film. Sure, you'll miss a couple of inside jokes that only comic bookies laughed at in the theater, but overall you'll be able to understand the situation and resolution of this movie rather easily. Hugh Jackman delivered a surprising performance as the hugely popular "Wolverine." He probably had the hardest character to portray considering that most "X-Men" fans felt that no one person could do ol' Wolverine justice. James Marsden gives a subtle delivery as "Cyclops." He exuded the leadership qualities you come to expect from that character. The rest of the cast did a brilliant job. Sir Ian McKellan was in rare form as "Magneto," and Patrick Stewart seemed to be born to play "Professor Xavier."

One crucial theme of this movie was that of discrimination. Consider that these characters were hated and feared because they were mutants. Then, look at how our society today discriminates against people because of their race, religion, political standing, etc. Funny how a movie(and the comic book) can seem like child's play to many adults but have such an important message as its primary theme. Who'da thought that a bunch of comic characters could teach us all a lesson in life.

Watch this movie whether you like the comic or not. It's a good story with a great message. It isn't just a bunch of special effects used as filler to take up some of your time.

Summary: Not good
Review: i am a huge fan of X-Men and i know alot this movie had faws all over it. They do not even have the original five. Ice man does nothing, where is angel, where is beast, and tell me how Wolverine and Sabretooth not remember each other after all they were on the same special force squad and went through weapon X. This movie is a disgrace to the comics. Where is wolverine slicing and dicing his opponets. i mean come on mystique giving wolverine a hard time fighting lets get real he is a master of practically every fighting style in the world. In the comics mystique would have been dead in 10 seconds. Her body would be in hundreds of pieces. This is a total remake of the original characters. I just don't understand why Marvel would let this movie be made without exact specifications of the characters and the comics.

Summary: A Mere Classic-- Ben N. At The Movies
Review: First of let me say that this is a mere classic only because it delivers astonishing visual display it is truely the turning point of visual arts of the year 2000 as you may or may have not noticed that after x-men was was filmed that 2 years later spider-man came out then followed by daredevil then the sequel that passed the original X-Men) (X-Men 2) then the most special effects of them all (HULK) but to my point X-men is a great film it captures the true spirit of a diffrent world a world full of muntants that are hated among the citizens of the untied states yet the muntants still confront the humans in order to help but a evil muntant named magneto forms a brothurhood of muntants to bring evil opon the citizens this is a great action film with noticeable marvel characters such as Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm etc. all in all great film must buy 4- stars

Summary: Great movie.
Review: This movie has almost got it all, from action to comedy. It's got great music too!You won't regret seeing this movie. This about the not-so distant future in which there are mutants. These are people with special abilities.
In this, the villian is magneto, who has the power of moving and bending metal and this is a big problem for wolverine. He is another mutant that has the power of healing and his bones are made of a hard metal.Actually, this metal did not form his bones from the start but an experiment created it.
Logan(wolverine)soon meets the leader of a team of mutants who wants to help him.His name is Charles Xavier and he is a very strong telepath. The other mutants are Cyclops,Jean,Storm and Rogue. The partners of Magneto are Toad Sabertooth and Mystique.
This is a great cartoon-into-movie process.Only it has some less characters like shadowcat,Gambit and jubilee. The action in the climax of this movie is great. You'll love it

Summary: who are these guys?
Review: So they make a cool movie with a couple of big name actors and some great special effects and they call it "The X-Men." But it isn't. The name was put on this product to bring in the core fan base of this title. But the title is nearly all that is recognizable from the books. If the comic book costumes are good enough for Spiderman and Daredevil, why not the X-Men? And if you're going to make the movie, why not put in the characters that really matter? Where is Angel, IceMan and Beast? And as good as Ian McKellen is as Gandalf, he's about 20 years too old to play Magneto. When can we see the real X-Men?

Summary: Not Bad.
Review: This is a great little show. It is about these mutants (in the movie they ruined it by saying it was evolution, but the comic said it was nucular waste) and they want to have rights but everyone says theyre just horrible freakds. So some mutants tryed to kill AL the normal people. BUt they X-Men try to save them. Which is a mistake because in X-Men 2 the villans in 1 turn good and the people try to kill the mutants.
