Summary: Am I the only one who hated it???
Review: I'm surprised Anthony Hopkins decided to do this movie. The choice of Antonio Banderas (rightfully dubbed "flavor of the month" by Siskel & Ebert), however, is perfect. A cliche-ridden replica of most "action adventures," this is a fast paced film with a few laughs and thrills that adds NOTHING new to the genre. Perfect if you like mindless action entertainment - a la Desperado. If you like movies that make you think (at least a little bit), avoid this one like the plague (appropriate to end my review with a cliche).

Review: This movie was excellent. It's about time that somebody made a movie besides Disney that you can take a family to. It's one that both adults and youth can enjoy. The acting was excellent. Anthony Hopkins did a marvelous job as always and I think that this is Banderas' best work. This movie deserves a round of aplause.

Review: Hats off to Hollywood for not only bringing Zorro back to the screen, but for doing so with quality actors, and great production. Anthony Hopkins, the best there is. Antonio Banderas, at last a latin leading man worth watching. Talented, charming, a do it all actor from comedy to serious drama, action adventure, you name it. 2 hrs 20 minutes, really? So enjoyable I never noticed. Time flies when you're having fun. Everyone needs to see this one.

Review: I saw all of the summer '98 top movies and The Mask of Zorro is the best! It has all the required elements to be a great movie. From the cast to the stunts, this movie is a must to own!

Review: In a day and age of movies that give us ear splitting explosions, super hi-tech gadgets, characters that cuss and shoot as much as they breathe, and truly tasteless, vulgar humor, this movie stands out like a jewel in the rough. Banderas, Hopkins and Zeta Jones weave a wonderful tapestry of story with rich cinematography, excellent dialogue, and accomplished acting. The script is carefully crafted to include just enough of all the basic elements to keep virtually all movie goers happy. Not content to be merely an action film, this wonderful movie also has some truely well written and performed tradgedy, humor and love themes. When combined and seen as the total film, it becomes readily apparant that we have here a wonderful and entertaining film for peopleof all ages and beliefs. A funny, witty, action packed movie that doesn't go out of it's way to offend.

Review: My husband and I saw "Zorro" this summer. It was great--so much action, adventure, humor, romance.... One of the few movies that you wish would go on for a longer time. Definitely not a "ho hum" movie that has you looking at your watch wondering when it will come to an end. Antonio Banderas has a new fan (my husband)!!! Anthony Hopkins and Banderas are a fantastic combination. I would definitely consider buying a copy and watching it whenever I needed a lift. If I were to compare it to any movie it would be to "Maverick" with James Garner and Mel Gibson. I'll be getting copies for all the video buffs in the family.

Review: I don't know where to begin to describe this movie. Anyone who hasn't seen it is being greatly deprived. It has action, humour, and a perfect on-screen pairing (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Antonio Banderas). The settings are beautiful. The colors and cinematography are fantasic. It never loses your interest and has a great story. I have seen it three times and could watch it a million more. This is a must-see and must-buy!
