Review: Growing up and collecting comics Daredevil was my favorite. I don't know what it was about him, but I liked him the best. To see the comic come to life on the screen is a great thing! The movie does stay true to the comic. Same dark style. I enjoyed this movie very much!

Summary: Rushed Paced & Uneven
Review: This movie is disappointing because it's not exactly bad....& it's not exactly good either.The visuals are great (especially the showing of Daredevil's "radar sense") & most of the fight scenes. (I liked the bar fight & the fight in the church, but the shoolyard fight between Matt Murdock & Elektra was just plain ridiculous & corny!) Matt Murdock's character & background were fully developed (though illogically changed from the comic-book original. He doesn't save a blind man anymore. He just gets caught in a loading accident.) But everything else about this movie is RUSHED. Fast-pacing for an action film is necessary, but everything else, from the Kingpin's introduction, to Elektra's relationship with Daredevil (& no, she's NOT a ninja in this movie the way she is in the comic-book, because she doesn't live elong enough to become a paid mercenary!) is just way to quick. If they have a sequel, let's hope they'll get it right the second time around.

Summary: No fear!
Review: "Daredevil" is an excellent action movie circling around the story of Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck), who was left blind as a child when radioactive waste sloped over his eyes - but the same waste which took his eyesight granted him superhuman sharpness - and all his other senses are haywire. He eventually learns to adapt to his new gift, by "kung-fooing" and learning to defend himself with the use of his other senses. As an adult, he's a successful lawyer in the small neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, by night, he's the dark, aerobatic vigilant known as Daredevil, who silently brings justice to the streets of New York. He meets and falls in with love with the lovely martial arts master Elektra Natchios (Excellently portrayed by the very talented Jennifer Garner) - who thinks not so highly about Daredevil after she comes to think that he killed her father - when it was really the assassin-for-hire Bullseye (A wonderful performance by Colin Farrell), who was sent by the evil Kingpin (Michael Clark Duncan, who, unfortunately, is badly cast), who has also sent other people to be murdered. Once Daredevil finds out that Kingpin is the culprit, he must face him and Bullseye in a final showdown - in an attempt to complete his vow of bringing justice to his city. Personally, I enjoyed "Daredevil" a lot - and I was quite surprised because I really expected it to be like "The Phantom" with Billy Zane - a flop and a cheap imitation of "Spider-Man". And it wasn't like that at all! I also didn't have much anticipation for Ben Affleck's performance, and it wasn't bad - it was actually very good and he had a lot of physical potential. Oh - and I loved Jennifer Garner. She was a great leading lady. She's definitely bringing on the girl power to the movie. Colin Farrell was so good, I think he stole the show. He was evil. Pure evil. Though I can't say much of Michael Clark Duncan, it really looked as if he wasn't really enjoying the role. He didn't sound or even look evil. The special effects were a teensy-weensy too fake for my taste, but they were fine. I also think that they should've laid off the rock music. It was just annoying to hear people talk and hearing some rock band singing in the background when there isn't even a radio in the scene. This movie was not for that type of scenario. The story and directing were great! It was orginial, on track and very darn good- - bravo for Mr. Johnson. In conclusion, "Daredevil" is yet another great adoption of a comic book. Though I enjoyed "Spider-Man" more than this one, it certainly is your time's worth.

Summary: Underwelmed
Review: I suppose I expected too much. A lot of critics holding this one up higher than it deserved, too many people saying Ben Affleck made his finest performance yet. Anyway, there where a lot of problems, but most of them come from a tired cliched super hero plot line and very poor direction and editing. The man who killed Owen Meany needs to make a few more movies before he can handle the action genre. Didn't have a fraction of the fun and excitment of Spider-Man, or the mood of Batman. Decent performances by the cast, a little campy on Colin Farrel's part, but what can you do. Jennifer and Ben did the best they could be expected with such a briefly scripted romance, another weak point. In my humble opinion, the script needed a few more rewrites and an experienced director. As it is, didn't hate, didn't love it. Just disappointed. God . . . no one is going to like this review . . .

Summary: Rex Smith was Better
Review: Many years ago, after the Incredible Hulk TV (with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferigno) series went off the air without resolution, there were three made-for-TV movies about the Incredible Hulk. The middle movie, Trial of the Incredible Hulk, brought David Banner into contact with attorney Matt Murdock and his alter-ego, Daredevil, played by Rex Smith. I used to think that was a bad representation of Daredevil, until they made this movie. Now the made-for-TV one looks good. This movie introduces us to Matt Murdock as a young boy, when he first loses his sight, sees his father murdered (a killing very remniscent of the Joker killing Bruce Wayne's parents in the first "Batman" movie), and makes the decision to don the mask and red leather suit as a Daredevil. Along the way, he upsets Kingpin, the one man running all crime in New York; falls in love with rich-girl/lady-ninja Elektra; and battles Irish assassin Bullseye. In parts, it's a very busy movie, but in other parts, it just drags along. There are three distinctly bad elements here. The first two are the script and the choreography, neither of which is very engaging. No one has a line that you want to remember (no "I'll be back"), and in one scene when Matt Murdock and Elektra fight on a playground as a way of introduction, it's so over-choreographed it looks more like their doing ballet than fighting. But the biggest problem is the casting of Ben Affleck as Daredevil. The man brings no passion to the part, which could account for a lot of the reason that aforementioned scene on the playground failed. The movie also spends a lot of time trying to develop a relationship between Matt Murdock and Electra, played by Jennifer Garner, but I never bought it. A better choice to play Daredevil might have been Colin Farrell, who doesn't get enough screen time in this movie as the crazed assassin Bullseye. Farrell is the only one who rises above the muck of the bad script and seems to have fun in his role regardless. And the time he does spend on screen with Jennifer Garner, there is sparkage; their fight scenes are much more believable (and she does know how to fight, proven by her role on "Alias"). But even he finds it difficult to be sucked into the black hole that is Ben Affleck's lack of passion and acting ability when he's sharing the screen with the movie's star. Frankly, the role that Farrell played in "The Recruit" felt more like what Matt Murdock should have been in this movie. Dark and edgy with lots of inner-turmoil. Daredevil was always Marvel Comics' answer to Batman, the dark vigilante battling inside himself to keep from crossing the line between justice and revenge. Ben Affleck never captures any of this; Colin Farrell has in other performances. Also, the actor who played young Matt Murdock looked so much more like a young Colin Farrell than a Ben Affleck. But then, if Farrell had played Daredevil, who would have played Bullseye as well as Farrell ultimately did. Maybe it would have helped the movie for Spider-Man to show up in a cameo, since both stories are set in New York City. Or perhaps in a nod to Daredevil's last movie outing, a cameo by the Incredible Hulk. But then, the Incredible Hulk is busy working on his own movie, not due out until later this year. Or maybe what it needed was Rex Smith to give it one more go.

Summary: different from spider-man
Review: I saw this movie twice and its a very cool movie, it was decent and ben affleck did good with daredevil. I thought it was gonna be like spider-man a little bit but it actually turned out to be different from spider-man, it was more hardcore and had its own style, it was also a dark movie too. This is a movie worth seeing right here and everyone will enjoy it and this is the year of marvel since they have X-men 2 and the Hulk coming later this year. I like comic book movies and they're entertaining and next year in 2004, Spider-man 2 will be out and i hope they make a punisher movie now that ill pay to see!.

Summary: It hits the Bullseye!
Review: DareDevil is an awesome movie that's just great fun. Hell I might even of enjoyed it more than Spiderman. Ben Afflick stars as Matt Murdock a man who was blinded as a child by chemicals and now has super senses. He uses those senses to fight crime as a masked hero named DareDevil. He falls in love with the sexy Elektra (Jennifer Garner) who's pretty tough herself. The 2 get to know each other by fighting it out in a school yard in front of some kids. Elekra's father is targeted by the evil KinPin (Michael Clarke Duncan). When DareDevil trys to stop him from getting killed by KinPin's main hitman Bullseye (Colin Farrell), he gets framed by Bullseye and Elektra thinks he killed her dad. Jennifer Garner's kun-fu has been called laughable by some critics, I think it's a lot more bareable than Cameron Diaze's and Drew Barrymoore's in Charlie's Angels. When she fights DareDevil or Bullseye it looks a lot better than the fighting on Ecks vs Sever. In that movie whenever Antonio Banderas would fight Lucy Liu, it looked more like they were dancing together. Anyway I have a thing for Garner, she's hot as hell, plus she has a tough look to her so I think she was very good as Elektra. Ben Afflick since Changing Lanes has been on a roll, he has really showed that he can act. He's great as DareDevil, I originally thought Matt Damon should of been casted as him instead but Afflick proves that he was a good choice. I really believed he was blind too, he was just excellent. Also Colin Farrell is just simply awesome as the insane Bullseye. His character isn't that well developed but that didn't matter to me because he was still very good. He plays one of the best villains I've seen in awhile. He's cocky, crazy and kicks major .... When I heard Michael Clarke Duncan was casted as KinPin whos' suppose to be a big fat white guy, I thought it was dumb. I'm not prejudice but I think when a character starts out white he should stay white, like Bosley going from being Bill Murray to Bernie Mac in Charlie's Angels 2 is pretty damn stupid itself. Anyway after seeing Michael Clarke Duncan's KinPin I forgot that the character isn't black, that's how good Duncan is. James Gandolfini would of been a better choice but Duncan isn't bad, he pulls off the part pretty damn good actually. All in all DareDevil is a good movie. I think this movie works on it's own, it's a lot better than it's being made out to be and I can't wait for the sequel.

Summary: Good, but doesn't hold a candle to Spiderman
Review: After hearing much hype on Daredevil, ("It's better than Spiderman, dawg!!!") I decided to check it out. After watching it, I felt it was essentially good, but still missing something. I can't argue with SOME of the fight scenes, but movie critics anywhere know that other scenes were just wanna-be Matrix. Affleck gave a solid performance, but the error was in the plot, as I never felt it was going anywhere during the movie. Basically, there wasn't enough content to satisfy the plot. If you want to check out an excellent comic book hero movie, watch Spiderman.

Summary: Dont Waste Your Money
Review: I only saw this because this is what a friend decided to see for her birthday. I expected it to be like 'Spiderman' (another dumb movie), so I didn't expect to much, but I guess the little I did expect was to much for this movie. Everything was dumb about this movie, the plot, the "fighting" scenes, the characters... Here are a few things that I found wrong with the movie: 1. If Ben Affleck's character can see things that reflect sound, how can he be blind? (yes, I know the part about the "super human senses" but that still didn't make any sense to me). 2. During the end, he is stabbed through the shoulder, but how can that not leave any mark on his outfit? And if he was so close to dying from it, how did he suddenly make a comeback within only five minutes? After this movie was over, I wished that I snuck into another movie, instead of staying for this one.

Review: I recently had the chance to see daredevil and i thought it was great maybe not quite as good as spider man but very close. i loved the fight scenes and thought Affleck portrayed daredevil very believable. Jennifer Garner was very good and also very hot and Colin Farrell also had agreat performance. Over all it was a great movie and i would recommend it to anyone
