Summary: cheesy and recycled movie
Review: I just want to roll my eyes, sorry comic fans but this is completely disturbing. I've included some spoilers.

Its a complete failure in my opinion. Yes the movie is dark, it has the feel of those "Batman" movies, but I was completely disgusted at the fact that this movie promotes vengeance rather than justice.

When Matt can't win cases in the courtroom, he decides to go out and teach them a lesson. That's not justice, that's vengeance. In one scene he finds the man and puts him on the subway tracks to die. Its quite interesting 'cause in the end of the movie, he decides to show mercy to Kingpin. He should have shown mercy much sooner in the movie.

If your analyzing the movie, I guess it means that his character grown from the person that he used to be early in the movie. Whatever, I liked "Spider-Man" much better, at least "Spider-Man" learned faster.

This movie is also more graphic with its violence and I was disgusted at some of the stuff that I saw. Like the fact that Bullseye kills people with pencils, chokes a lady with a peanut, and other disgusting things just because Bullseye doesn't like them. He gets a thrill out of killing people.

At one point a weapon goes through Elektra's hand and through Bullseye's hands too.

Honestly, the Green Goblin from the movie "Spider-Man" seems to be a boyscout compared to Bullseye. There's not that much special effects here and I was disappointed at one time when Matt decides to have sex with Elektra even when he hears a call for help.

That is just completely disgusting! Go, help them first and then do whatever you want!! This movie is dark on so many levels. I was disgusted and disappointed. I like action movies and their a whole lot of fun but when the characters are more noble like "Spider-Man."

I think this movie was trying to emulate "Spider-Man," however it just fails miserably and I was disappointed. Don't make the mistake of renting it.

Summary: Comic Noir Onscreen!
Review: As someone that has been reading Daredevil since it began (!), it goes without saying that I was pumped to see this....being a geek, I'd tracked the filming through the usual sources (Ain't It Cool.com, etc.),and was there on opening day. As a DD fan, it was great to see him live in action, created by a writer/director who was clearly devoted to the source material. If anything, MSJ is TOO devoted to it. The visual imagery is impressive, the effects are, in some places, tremendous--others, merely adequate. My main problems with the flick are in the dialogue area. In an effort to be loyal to the source, he's created narration that's wooden to the point of laughable. But that's a minor quibble. As with all comic movies, the true test will be in the second chapter, when MSJ is freed from the bounds of origin story and can really tell a tale. Affleck is good. Garner is VERY good. Michael Clarke Duncan is physically and vocally right for Kingpin, he just needs more to do. Colin Ferrell is an amusing bullseye (make sure to go past the credits for an amusing "final shot"). If MSJ called me and asked, I'd tell him to have Kevin Smith take a pass at his next script for a dialogue polish, and he'd be well on the way for a Batman-quality Dark Hero Classic!!

Summary: Not for die hard fans
Review: With every rule there are exceptions. The rule for Daredevil is you either loved it or hated it. Die hard Daredevil fans will most likely hate it due to it butchering of the story lines taken from the comics themselves. Those who are not fans will most likely enjoy it for it effects, the love story and kinetic action. I am the exception that I spoke of earlier. Yes, the characters, story arcs and even some of his powers have been altered for unknown reasons, but if you watch it for what it is, it's pretty good. No where near the statis of Spider Man, or Xmen (1 or 2), or I suspect even as good as the upcoming Hulk. But Daredevil was never a wholly mainstream book and it's readers were not always faithful. Changing writers made the books appeal dip up and down like a rollercoaster. In turn the cutural consequences of messing with the character didn't carry the weight that it would if characteristics were changed for Spider Man or Xmen. I liked the movie as a whole, but some aspects were foolishly changed and I cannot understand why. It's action packed, the chemistry between Garner and Affleck is good, but not great. Affleck actually plays the character well, and accuratly. It's strange that with his hollywood status, and his well known liking of the character, that he let this inconsistancy happen. But it could have been his idea, who knows. There will most likely be a sequel, let's hope things get better. I would actually give it three and half stars.

Summary: Very G-R-E-A-T Movie!!!
Review: I still wonder how people can not like this movie. Some argue about not staying true to the comic book. Well this is the movie that sticks to the comic book THE BEST!!! And the acting is top notch! The action scenes (and there are a TON) are well directed, much better than Spider-Man. This movie is more about trying to stop villains... No, not superpowers, (except for the heightened senses) just a blind man trying to serve justice! Take a DARE and see this movie! You won't be disappointed!!

Summary: Nothing groundbreaking
Review: Theres nothing groundbreaking here. Too dark? Could have been alot darker if you ask me. What the heck happened to Bullseye? Why does he now look like the character from The Last Action Hero? Certain things just shouldnt be messed with. This just doesnt come close to spiderman and no where near the first Batman. Cant wait for the Hulk, that should be a good laughable cartoon.

Summary: A bunch of super lunatics
Review: When we saw the ads for Daredevil on TV, we thought "Wow, what a cool movie!" So we went to see it in theatres. Big, big mistake. The only thing that made it slightly more tolerable was the soundtrack. Excellent music, but the plot and acting in the movie were definitely lacking. In a nutshell, the plot was everybody getting revenge on everyone else. Oh the drama! You can only have so many people who hate each other before it starts to get old. Of course it didn't help that everyone in the movie was slightly insane. Who on earth would get a target imprinted into their skull? Who wears pleather leggings? Who kills people with paper clips and playing cards? This show needs some serious help. Unfortunately, I fear that it is beyond salvaging. And then the closing line. "This city doesn't need a guardian angel. It has a guardian devil." How enthralling.

Summary: There goes the girl and the movie.
Review: So! Have you been awake during the times of STUPIDITY? I mean man this has got to be the lamest movie. The action was good and the acting ok and the rest well let me see...[was bad]! The music was the best part of the movie and so were a couple of the fight scenes. When Elektra and "Daredevil" are fighting that was dumb when she didn't kill him I mean she had a clear shot at him and she takes the time to take off his mask when all that precious time she could have cut him up. So Elektra and "Bull's Eye" Fight and the Sai through her hand was awesome and then there she goes of course that's it and the movie get's pretty dull from there and that is all i have to say!

Summary: Destruction of a Comic Icon
Review: Quite possibly the worst adaptation, of any medium, in film.

Many have claimed that this version of Daredevil is, in fact, a true depiction of the character. This, more than anything else, is an insult to one of the few complex characters Marvel has managed to produce. Although there were a number of scenes that were taken straight from the comics, ala Spider-Man, unlike said movie the spirit of the character was lost.

For those of you that are not familiar with the character, Matt Murdock is a New York lawyer granted heightened senses and a "radar sense" from the accident that left him blinded. Dedicated to an ideal of justice, Daredevil struggles in a hopeless battle - to effect change within his own microcosm, the section of New York known popularly as Hell's Kitchen. In such a hopeless situation Murdock lives purely from his ethics, an unshakable belief in the legal system and a faith in man's ability for redemption. He adopts the guise of the devil to remind man what waits for him if he doesn't change his ways and even after stopping criminals he defends them in court - to ensure they recieve fair treatment, even if they're the worst murderers, rapists and scoundrels.

Although the character has lapses in this unrealistic ideology as he's constantly barraged with proof of the meaninglessness of his struggle, the corruption of the legal system and the crumbling of his personal life, he heroically continues to strive for a better world. The archetypical struggle of man's ethics vs. his enviroment.

Now, let's face the reality of this movie. Matt Murdock is a prosecuting attorney that, when he can't win a case against criminals he knows are guilty, murders them. He's motivated by a hatred for the "scum" who run the streets and is a cold, passionless man who hides out in his secret headquarters waiting to gain revenge on his enemies.

... Is this what I waited years for? The acting is dismal, a supporting cast of complex characters reduced to one-dimensional laugh-offs and senseless violence. Some of comic's best scribes (include Miller, Nocenti and Bendis) have spent years creating a symbol for Everyman, and we get this. ...

Summary: MARVELous Super Hero Sleeper/Fable!
Review: Unlike much-hyped SPIDERMAN(which was okay )DAREDEVIL is what movie goers applaud as a SLEEPER. The show has solid plot; good acting; excellent pacing (action with effective character development interludes)good to superb special effects;and SUPER HERO gimmick Ben Affleck is fine as Matt Murdock. Struck blind as a boy...after witnessing his "tough love" almost-boxing-champion dad compromised working as loan shark's collection bully who's later killed for refusing to "dive" in a rigged match...Murdock assumes identity of blind(JUSTICE)poverty/VISTA lawyer by day; and Jekyll/Hyde violent vigilante, DAREDEVIL by night. Enhanced senses and hyper-adept physical abilities allow him...as Man without Fear...to strike terror into criminal elements that thrive beyond the LAW.

More like Frank Miller's DARK KNIGHT than Stan Lee's SPIDERMAN (or DC's SUPERMAN), Murdock is a man of guilty conscience who battles self-accusing sense of sin as well as bad guys' reveling in glamour of EVIL. Colin Farrell is excellent as archly humor-less Joker/BULLSEYE, Daredevil's nemesis and villainous alter-ego. Despite review put-downs(of the ilk knocking 007 adventures for lacking "originality" after 40 years,)DAREDEVIL is thoroughly engaging PUNK MORALITY fable. If "Mourning Becomes Elektra"(Jennifer Garner)hints of Greek Tragedy...the bloodiest stuff ever penned...seem stretching "comic" book dimensions, nevertheless, DAREDEVIL can be commended for entertaining ambition. It's MARVELOUS Super Hero Sleeper to anyone hip to hybrid genres it essays, or simply enjoys a PM serial-style, edge-of-the-cliff(mountain ranges of New York/LA) "killer-thriller".
