Summary: Fun, worth if for Connery alone
Review: Fun if a bit thin in the narrative cohesion department. And I don't think a submarine the size of the Titanic could fit either vertically or side-to-side in the canals of Venice. They're way too shallow. But still, it was a fun romp. Connery and the character of Mr. Hyde / Dr. Jeckyl were best.

Summary: I think this is a pretty good movie
Review: Lots of people didn't like this film, but when I got to see it on DVD I liked it a lot. Okay, so it's not a really great film, but the effects are fun and the action is often super cool. Good actors, too. Sean Connery, of course, is always THE MAN! I liked the girl who played the vampire woman as well. Captain Nemo was cool with his kung-fu moves. I thought that Mr. Hyde was waaaaay too much like the Hulk (but that's a film I didn't like so its okay). I haven't read the comic books, but I'll bet they're pretty cool too.

There's some extra stuff here on the DVD, but they were kinda boring, so don't buy this if you want a lot of extra stuff. Buy it if you like lots of action and neat sets and think Sean Connery is cool, even if he's pretty old now.

Summary: Guilty Pleasures
Review: Ok, this is a B grade action flick, with bad editing, poor direction and stock acting, if any acting at all. But "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" delivers what it ought, comic book entertainment (oh excuuuuuuse me! Graphic Novel entertainment) from a good cast, with fine special effects, well ok special effects. Think some of the later Batman sequels, and you will have an equivalent to match against your own tastes. This was about as good as any of those.

There is a lot of reliance on CGI scenery, some reasonably good if dull-colored stage sets, and some stupid costuming (Naseerudin Shah as Captian Nemo sports a horror of a fake beard, a welcome mat gone bad, very bad.)

The premise--the league formed to save the world, is what you'd expect from the title. Connery delivers a decent performance of a superannuated superhero, recalled to action, and newcomer Stuart Townsend is a fine, faux Johnny Depp in the role of Dorian Gray. Peta Wilson as Mina turned in an excellent performance. She was apparently not the first choice of the casting director, but she was intense and more than up for the task of playing the vampire with a heart of gold.

The duplicity of one character is about as transparent as a bowl of jello, and the red herring is very red, indeed. Still, I liked the film and enjoyed every guilty moment. Plenty of action, fight scenes, explosions, not much brains, good mindless enjoyment.

Summary: Only a movie for those interested!
Review: At first when I saw this movie I thought nothing of it and dismissed it as nothing but somebody blending X-Men , The Incredible Hulk , and Mythical Creatures.... but after learning that this is a bunch of different storys of legends of the old fiction world I gave it one more go, and it seemed better the second time around!

A war has broken out during 1899? and the man behind it is a villian who calls himself "the Fantom" who really does all the worst acting of the film! His entrance was as bad as the whole plot of "mortal kombat anhiahalation" and his acting is near enough to fit into that movie! However, Sean Connery is a famous hunter by the name of "Allan Quatermain" who is asked to join a leage that is set to be like no other. Along with a Vampire who has somthing to do with Dracula, the Hulk type character of Dr.Jeckyl and Hyde, the 20,000 leages under the sea Captin Nemo, A guy who is invisable, and a guy who cant be killed.... By now you shouldve seen other reveiws of what the plots about, so i wont add another version to it!

I'll just say, this movie will appeal well to fans of X-Men and the Hulk, which is why i hated it at first, not beeing a fan of either, but after finding out that this was based on a story written long before either of the two had even been thought of, it seperated my feelings of this just beeing a movie thats blended in its own way a few of the recent hits in the box office! Give it at least a rental before you dismisss it!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was an excellent movie based on comic books, as compared to Spiderman,(yuck), or Daredevil,(PUKE!). It was one of the best movies i've ever seen and highly recommend it to you!

Summary: A Fun movie!!!
Review: I didn't see this in the theater though I really wanted to. I loved the movie, the soundtrack, and the wonderful humor. It isn't meant to be a serious movie. It is one you get to enjoy, laugh over, and have fun watching. I bought it and have watched it two times in three days. Sean Connery does a fantastic job as Quartermain! Because it didn't do that well in the box office I doubt they will do a sequel but they really should.
A must have for the fun movie category in everyone's collection!!

Summary: love it!
Review: Hey am I the only one that grew up reading Sherlock Holmes, and Dracula, and H. Rider Haggard and watching Sinbad, Tarzan, Hammer Horror and Godzilla movies? They were FUN. Not realistic, but FUN. So is LXG. Too bad everybody is so ... jaded these days.

Review: I LOVED this movie! I'm not sure why so many people don't like it. It's so neat how they brought different literary heroes together to make a completely new adventure. I love the plot too. It's so original and surprising. You'd have to read a lot of literature to really understand and appreciate how everything all works together. The special effects are great too. If you don't like this movie, I'm guessing you just don't like adventure/action movies at all.
