Rating: Summary: The Best Movie Of The Summer! Review: Spider-Man rocks! I went into the theater expecting a movie that would be about equal with one of the Batman sequels but I got much more! Not only is this better than ALL the Batman movies but it's the best Comic Book movie adaption ever! Toby Maguire is perfect as Spider-Man! He is totally believable in the role and he is one of the few comic book movie heroes that have depth. Kirsten Dunst is perfectly cast as Mary Jane and her fine acting also brings depth to her character. And Willem Dafoe, Wow! This is surely William Dafoe's BEST on screen role ever! His Green Goblin is the coolest villian ever! The rest of the cast is great as well! Sam Raimi again shows his suberb talent behind the camera and it all assembles together for the Perfect Summer Movie! I am surprised that everybody did not love this great movie! It was well deserving of it's $115 million dollar opening! When the film is over it leaves you wanting more! A sequel hits in May 2004 but until then we will all have to wait for November 1st when the best film of the year thus far hits DVD.
Rating: Summary: action with heart Review: Well, first of all, I'm really not 12, but I don't feel like setting up an account on Amazon (I'm a teenager). But let's get down to my review. I saw this movie two times in the theater, and I must say, it got better the second time. The casting is perfect in Spider-Man. Not only is Tobey Magiure very hot, he's a great actor, and he was ment to play Peter Parker. So is W. Dafoe, the guy who plays the Green Goblin. Kirsten Dunst does a great job of playing the girl next door, MJ. But I think the thing that impresses me the most is that not only is the action and special effects were great, there was a lot of heart behind it. Peter (Magiure) is really dorky, and the cool thing is that even after he becomes a superhero, he's still dorky. Even though he can save all of New York City, he still can't find the guts to ask Mary Jane (Dunst) out. So, if you want a movie that has action and heart, I reccomend that you see Spider-Man.
Rating: Summary: Just Plain Awesome Review: With everything from action to suspense even romance, Spiderman has everything for people of ALMOST all ages. You may want to keep the kiddies away from all the violence and occasional swearing, but it is overall a great movie. Staying true to the comics, this Spiderman film is due for two more sequals while the comics keep coming out. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko are the original creators of the Spiderman comic series that Marvel released in the mid-60's, and it has spawned tv shows, spinoff comics, memorabilia, and movies. Tobey Maguire(don't think I spelled that right) and Kirsten Dunst(don't think I spelled that right, either) are incredible together. Bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker becomes Spiderman and falls in love with Mary Jane, until the Green Goblin seeks revenge on the company rivaling his. Spiderman and his friends become intertwined into this incredible storyline of betrayal, suspense, and .... evilness.
Rating: Summary: It was Awesome Review: Spiderman was an amazing movie. I love the acting and the stunts. I think that everyone should go see it becuase it is such a fun movie that the whole family would enjoy.
Rating: Summary: stinker! Review: run of the mill special effects, week plot and shabby acting.Disapointing work from Sam Raimi.
Rating: Summary: My review is based on the Movie Review: Spiderman! who doesnt know him...This Spring awaken from the comics to rule the movie screens. But unfortunatly the "resurrection" couldnt keep up to the comics, not only due to the wretched acting talents of the characters but also because Hollywood had to streghten up the trashy teen romance between Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and his sweetheart next-door (Kirsten Dunst) to the max. But if you are a fan of mind warping, astonishing visual effects and Hollywood's storytelling-exaggerations dont bother you, this movie will bound you for almost 2 hours in your seat!
Rating: Summary: Doesn't look PG-13 to me Review: This isn't a bad movie. It should be rated PG-for action vilonce and sequence. I thought the previews we were going to see were Stuart Little 2, Scooby-Doo, Jonah: A Veggietales Movie, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron, Hey Arnold! the movie, Men in Black 2 and Like Mike. But instead we saw to much PG-13 movie preview and Stuart Little 2.
Rating: Summary: The best comic book inspired movie!! A must!!!!!!! Review: Spider-man is the the best comic book inspired movie yet! I watched it over and over again in theaters and i still cant get enough of it! I have been a comic book fan for about 5 to 6 years and i normaly think making a movie about a comic ruins the whole story, but i found both the spider-man and x-men movies were awesome! And im totaly going to buy spider-man when it hits stores! I may only be 11 but take my word, the spider-man movie is a must!!!
Rating: Summary: A lot of fun. Definitely Review: It's with a mixed feeling of different expectations I sit down in the cinema to watch SPIDER-MAN. I had a hope to see a Great Superheroflick, in the same class as Tim Burton's masterpiece BATMAN (1989). Then I had this more realistic spidersense telling me that "you know, this'll probably be a lot of fun, but really nothing else". Well, my sense was more right than my hopes, but "a lot of fun" is kind of an understatement; It's REALLY a lot of fun watching SPIDER-MAN.First off, there is two things that made me want to see this film; 1. As a kid Spidey was my idol, and Marvel my heaven. This resulted in me knowing state-of-the-art-geek-stuff for the rest of my life. Therefore when time came for "Spidey the movie", my ancient knowledge sparked to life, at least for a while, and for just a couple of hours I was all back to my 11-year-old-mania. 2. My favorite director, Sam Raimi isn't, but I have faith in the man and I trust him to make a fun flick. As a horrorfan his THE EVIL DEAD (1982) remains more or less as a gift. His directing is wild and crazy, unstoppable but therefore also guaranteed to float out of the frames. But I heard Raimi would be a bit more down-to-earth, in SPIDER-MAN. Well that sounded good. Indeed, Raimi doesn't get all that carried away, even though the movie ooze from his fun directing manners. If you've seen DARKMAN (1990) or ARMY OF DARKNESS (1993) you'll see that SPIDER-MAN has the same crazed tempo. Of course BRUCE CAMPBELL does a semi-cameo, Raimi holds up his traditions. Yeah, about the actors, SPIDER-MAN's lineup gives us three stars in the leading roles, Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe and Kirsten Dunst. They are no real favs of mine, but it's a good combination: all three of them are just about as OK actors. Dafoe did his thing, Dunst was cute (as always), I think Maguire stood out making Peter Parker a truly sympathetic character. Of course, to make an a-lot-of-fun-actionadventure these days requires some heavy artilleries from the digital front. True, the digital effects are slick and perfect for the entertainment-meter. When Spidey swings around Manhattan, I can't do nothing else but kick off my shoes (I literary did this) and lean back and just enjoy the ride. 'Cause that is what you gotta do in a movie like this. Forget that it contains two love-declarations, one from Maguire and one from Dunst, that are absolutely ridiculous (and that the dialogues overall are no hotshots). Then you'll have a lot of fun. My rating is really a 7 out of 10, a bit of a challanger to BATMAN RETURNS (1992) and proving that BATMAN (1989) still is the best. Buy the way. There is a Spider-Man 2 and 3 coming up. Good idea. This movie was very true to the comicbook it was based on, but Spidey lacked his unresistable wits and some of the stuff that are basic to the Spidey-reader are not yet shown off in the movie. Hopefully we'll see more of this in the sequels. Even though I wonder... Sam Neill as DocOc? Bring in Eddie Brock!
Rating: Summary: One of the Greatest Movies of All Time!! Review: After seeing this movie on the first day at the first showing in my town, I was then turned into a huge Spider-Man [fan]! The movie was excellent!! It was better than I thought it would be. The acting was great, especially Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe. They brought the roles to life with their great knowledge of the Spider-Man past. The special effects will keep you on the edge of your seat, and keep you waiting for the next installment. Which is set to hit theaters on May 7th, 2004. Until then True Believers!
