Rating: Summary: Very pleasant and enjoyable! Review: I have to agree with Bill Murphy about this one. I was expecting this film to be cheesy and less than enjoyable. I was very wrong. I'm not a comic buff, or a sci-fi/fantasy nut, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film.Tobey Maguire plays the nerdy Peter Parker, who gets bitten by a spider, which in return transforms him into a superhuman being with superhuman powers. The special effects in this are quite stunning, and the acting performances help to maintain a poignant and dreamy atmosphere throughout. Kirsten Dunst is a complete doll as MJ, Peter/Spiderman's love interest, and Willem Dafoe is the menacing Green Goblin. I don't want this to be a long review, so I'm choosing to end it abruptly. If you want a dreamy, poignant, heartwarming film to watch (with all of those excellent special effects to spare), I highly recommend this.
Rating: Summary: a major snooze through movie lmao! Review: Are u kidding me?! This was by far the worst hyped up movie in the history of blockbuster deliverers. The green goblin was bad!, he had on a robot suit for crying out loud, william defoe would have been better just to exclude the costume and rant and rave as the maniac he was lol. Tobey mcguire as the amazing spidey [was bad]! sure he had the nerd part down but he did not transform well into the confident and cocky spidey we all know and love from the comic book world. In my opinion Freddy Prince Jr. would have made a better spiderman if not him then the guy who played in sonny darko thats if i spelled it right, heyl! john cusack could have done a better job, but unfortunately hollywood is into exploiting litte kids for the sake of money. In the future marvel world it would help if u make these comic characters as they are portrayed in the comics, so far only blade lives up to the hype. I am personally tired of made for kidding films, especially when the comic characters are flat out killers who dont behave and play around like children, so please take the truth pill really! lmao! I give spiderman one star and thats only becos it doesnt go lower.
Rating: Summary: The best super hero movie ever made Review: I totally disagree with the Amazon Editoral review on this movie. It is better than either Superman or Batman (both good). The brillance in this movie starts with the casting of Tobey McGuire. He gives Spiderman a human element missing from other superheroes. He is a teenager, and acts like a teenager, but by the end of the movie we see him evolve into a man. He is vulnerable, and yet has the wit to overcome his enemies.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: spiderman is awesome it is just like the comic this movie is great tobey maguire plays a terrific spiderman buy this movie its really good
Rating: Summary: Great movie, very original. Review: This movie has fantastic and realistic effects and keeps the viewer gaping at the screen the whole time. This action packed movie is about a seemingly normal kid, Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) who has a big secret. He is Spiderman! This movie intensifies as Peter comes close to having his identity revealed. I can't say too much without giving away the movie, but this is definetly worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Spider Man good, but Cartoon was better. Review: The movie was not a dissapointment but in my eyes the cartoon had a way better story. Many details are left in the dark during the movie. It has no sense of time. But the real kick in the groin was that he had natural web in the movie. In the comic book and the cartoon he had web cartridges. Making for a much better SpiderMan expierence. In the books and TV shows he would sometimes run out of the cartridges and have to think on his feet. One aspect in the movie that was better in the movie was better was how Peter Parker aquired the spider like abilities.(It goes in to more detail) Buy the movie if you liked the X-men movie. I would recommend the cartoon series on DVD though.
Rating: Summary: Love it, but I want the alternate ending Review: Didn't Spiderman have an alternate ending on the World Trade Center? I wish that were included on a bonus disk. They didn't even _mention_ it on the commentaries. Oh well. Gotta love Toby Maguire's performance (even if the Green Goblin was lame and the plot only so-so). If it weren't for the humanity and realism that Toby brings to the movie, I'm sure I'd rate this only 1 star.
Rating: Summary: A lot of hype Review: I don't pretend to be a fan of the spiderman comics, but I really didn't see anything special about this movie. My friend went to see it twice in two days, which in my opinion was a good waste of about $$. But this same friend spent 500.00 on CD's once. He said it was like having a record store in his room, he was finding unopened CD's for ages. This same friend also won't see the Scooby Doo movie because he thinks that it will ruin his childhood impressions. I don't think he could do any worse seeing that movie after this one, but I haven't seen that movie yet so... I saw Spiderman once in the theatres and I saw an overdramatized, poorly written mess. The special effects were awesome, and the whole scene with the cable car full of kids and the love of his life was dramatic and special, almost to the point of being laughable. What normal city has people jumping around high places in masks? It was done better in Batman. The whole thing with the green goblin was incredibly stupid, especially at the end where Spiderman's friend discovered the murder. Oh boy, I can't wait for the second part. Especially the end, where he decides on the importance of truth and honor. I would have done the same thing that he did, but for other reasons. Mainly, because all the characters in that movie were ridiculous and poorly written, and not worth remembering. I have to wonder what you could take away from this movie, I didn't see anything that really made you think. I mean, it must be wonderful to some day discover that your hands can stick to the walls, but who cares? So what he got bit by a spider..? Steroids do the same thing. On the plus side, the soundtrack was impressive, and like I said this movie was good eye candy.
Rating: Summary: Best movie of 2002 Review: I loved this movie because of the great special effects and awesome storyline. From the begining of the movie, you pity Peter Parker because he is treated like dirt and is bullied by the whole school bus (even the driver). After he is bitten he as a whole is changed including his body, his abilitys, and even his looks(no more glasses and even a more sophisticated look. This movie has it all action, adventure, and even a slight love story. Oh and also the most innovative kiss seen in movies. A real blockbuster, and movie you need to own.
Rating: Summary: Ponderous Review: Great adaptation, cinematography, action sequences. Unfortunately there is way too much romantic development. I'll write more as soon as I can force myself to watch the whole thing. Very disappointing.
