Summary: Wonder Woman on DVD
Review: After much fan outcry, Warner Bros. video has finally done the impossible: released a full season of the 1970s Wonder Woman series on DVD. This first release contains all of the WWII era episodes of the classic series in which we can see the amazing Amazon from Paradise Island fight nazis, bring in the bad guys and of coarse help save the ever in peril handsome soldier Steve Trevor. In the pilot, "The New Original Wonder Woman", we discover how Diana left her island to help the Americans fight the nazi regime. Included in this episode is an audio commentary by series star Lynda Carter herself and series executive producer Douglas Cramer. Other episodes included on the DVD set (without commentary) are: "Wonder Woman Meets Baroness Von Gunther", "Fausta: The Nazi Wonder Woman", "Beauty on Parade", "The Feminum Mystique" parts 1 and 2 (introducing actress Debra Winger for the first time ever), "Wonder Woman vs. Gargantua", "The Pluto File", "Last of the Two Dollar Bills", "Judgement from Outer Space" parts 1 and 2, "Formula 407", "The Bushwackers" (starring cowboy legend Roy Rogers), and "Wonder Woman in Hollywood". Added as a special feature is the featurette "Beauty, Brawn and Bulletproof Braclets: A Wonder Woman Restrospective." All in all, this is a really fun set to own as it brings back a lot of childhood fun. And compared to other television series DVD releases, you just can't beat this price.

Summary: Wonder Woman - Lasso Season 1
Review: Let's all buy this box set to insure that season two and season three will be made available. Let's show warner brothers what we want and what we like!! Here's the scoop...

Straight from tvshowsondvd.com...

Meet the United States' secret and most beautiful weapon in the fight against tyranny: Wonder Woman! Season One of Wonder Woman (the Pilot Movie and 13 regular episodes) retains the World War II era of the super heroine's early comic book adventures. Also captured is the exuberant tone of a comic book come to screen life as the warrior princess, empowered by her sense of a woman's worth and by the mysterious substance Feminum that's found only on her remote native isle, battles a succession of Nazi baddies. Former Miss USA Lynda Carter stars as the heroine who hides her identity behind the oversized glasses of a War Department functionary. But when duty and danger call, she transforms. And the wonders never cease.

Is it okay if we say "We told ya' so!"?

Wonder Woman - The Complete 1st Season on 3 DVDs - at least two of them double-sided - that contain the 90-minute pilot episode from 1975, plus the 13 weekly episodes that make up the exciting first season that ran in 1976-77.

Don't forget that Debra Winger shows up as "Wonder Girl", plus other guest stars include Cloris Leachman and Kenneth Mars. Lyle Waggoner co-stars as Major Steve Trevor, of course.

Episodes included are: "The New Original Wonder Woman" (90-minute pilot), "Wonder Woman Meets Baroness Von Gunther", "Fausta: The Nazi Wonder Woman", "Beauty on Parade", "The Feminum Mystique (Part 1)", "The Feminum Mystique (Part 2)", "Wonder Woman vs. Gargantua!", "The Pluto File", "Last of the Two Dollar Bills", "Judgement from Outer Space (Part 1)", "Judgement from Outer Space (Part 2)", "Formula 407", "The Bushwackers", and "Wonder Woman in Hollywood".

Included also is a featurette entitled "Beauty, Brawns and Bulletproof Bracelets: A Wonder Woman Retrospective". Also look for the commentary track we previously reported on: you'll find Lynda Carter doing one for the pilot, and sitting in with her is none other than Executive Producer Douglas S. Cramer.

Clocking in at 725 minutes, this will be viewable in the same video and audio it was originally broadcast in: 1.33:1 screen format and English Mono 1.0 sound. Subtitles are available in Spanish, French, and English, with closed captioning for the hearing impaired. List price is $39.98.

Summary: CLASSIC TELEVISION-CLASSIC AMERICAN LEGEND
Review: Wonder Woman is classic television born from THE classic legendary American Heroin! Lynda Carter does an amazing job bringing Princess Diana/Diana Prince/Wonder Woman to life! Always portraying her with a genuine honesty and humanity, never flaky or plastic or over the top unbelievable, which is why she continues to live in our hearts and memories till this day. Her image was imprinted into the psyche of every man woman and child during the 1970s; even more so then Charlie's Angels or The Bionic Woman, also classics. She thrilled and inspired boys and girls alike! Even the cheesy episodes sprinkled throughout the later years are a joy to watch as we wait with bated breath for Diana to spin into Wonder Woman to save the day! A wonderful DVD collection would be an instant hit, especially with plenty of extra footage, behind the scenes and even bloopers; all of which are immensely popular extras that help boost sales! SO BRING IT ON!

Summary: Wonder Woman Revisited
Review: Is it true? is WB finally releasing this gem of a television series on DVD???? - THANK YOU. Long gone are the days where loosely scripted stories, high impact, and some of the cheesiest lines you'll ever hear, were staple viewing diet for 70's/80's kids. Lynda Carter WAS the defining television Super-Hero Icon

For those of us who have recently revisited WW either through syndication, Columbia House Videos or the UK's 2 Volume DVD releases (the first 6 episodes of Season 2 - although Vol2 skips The Pied Piper and goes straight to The Queen & the Thief), you'll no doubt have been surprised at the now painfully obvious technical flaws of the show, too many to mention, but that isn't enough to ignore the charm that still remains. And despite the some times hilarious short comings of the series, WW truly is a 'Wonderful' trip backwards. It is 99% of what I remember it to be, and the fact that her 'transformation' into her 'Star-Spangled Banner' costume still has me transfixed in these jaded days of high tech effects, CGI and the like, making this show my truly all time favorite television series. Yes it's cheesy, let not lie about it, but it's cheese that seem to make it what it is.

This needs to be given the full five star treatment - Complete Series DVD release of season 1,2 &3, Behind the scenes, out-takes, Interviews - the works!!!! - Do it once and do it RIGHT! Lets celebrate WW and everything that was great about this show. They surely don't make 'em like they use to.

Summary: Great DVDs but...
Review: Warner Bros. released 2 volumes in the UK on DVD thus far, but they are roughly the first 6 episodes from The New Adventures of Wonder Woman. Personally, I would've preferred say a mix of The New Original...(WWII episodes) along with The New Adventures...(updated to the 70's.) In any case, what we have here is a fine package with an excellent video transfer (unlike the Columbia House videos, these have been color corrected.) Included in the extras are picture galleries of Lynda Carter as WW and various collectibles associated with the TV show. Too bad it's only currently available in Region 2 in the PAL format.
