Summary: Distilled adrenalin. Just focus your eyes here.
Review: The dialogue is corny, and the plot's ridiculously contrived, but WOW! Let the all-out, non-stop action simply engulf you - and draw you completely in to its own twisted reality. Mind bending!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A visual of dazzling display
Review: This film doesn't require your mind. It's all action and martial arts. This is for the extreme action people only. I consider this one of the best action films to date. You've got to own this.

Summary: GREATEST SCI-FI ACTION MOVIES OF THE YEAR!
Review: THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE SMARTEST ACTION MOVIES MADE IN A LONG TIME. WHEN I FIRST SAW THE PREVIEW, I WAS LEERY. I DIDN'T SEE THE MOVIE UNTIL I WAS BADGERED BY A COUPLE FRIENDS OF MINE, AND IT HAD REACHED THE DOLLAR SHOW. MENTIONING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE WOULD RUIN THE MAIN SURPRISE OF IT. SEE THIS MOVIE, THEN BUY IT.

Summary: Definitely something for everyone..
Review: Sit back in your chair and let the visual imagery in this movie wash over you.. Don't be put off by what you've heard of the laughable plot and the starring roles of Ted "Theodore" Logan and Cowboy Bill, The Matrix is the surprise comedy hit of 1999.. with redundant lines like "It's a killing machine designed for one thing..", the absurdity of "His neurokinetics are way above normal!" and countless others, the INCREDIBLE performances by the "agents," and that priceless ending, this is a movie that will have you laughing and cheering along, and trust me, you will be amazed by what you see on the screen. If you want hong-kong action, get "Iron Monkey," but if you want the most biting American satire of the sci-fi "genre," and a movie just DYING to be seen on DVD, get "The Matrix"

Summary: Excellent-- cinematic masterpiece!
Review: This movie has gutsy action and drama. A thinking man's "Hard Boiled" with a little sci-fi thrown in! Must own!

Summary: WOW....
Review: This is a movie that makes you question the existance of everything around you. It rocks! Exciting all the way to the end. I have never seen a movie that left me so open minded. Get it!

Summary: An excellent smorgasbord for the mind
Review: This is one of those movies that apparently inspires either great admiration or disappointment. I must thank the prior reviewers (especially those rating it relatively low) who have helped me place some of the techniques and ideas into perspective. However, I think "The Matrix" is more than a collection of martial arts effects applied to cyberspace - there are significant allusions to the concepts of free will, destiny, and even religious philosophy.

As an example, anyone with even a little religious conviction of any kind has to believe, at some level, that this world is impermanent and (to a degree) illusory, kind of like the simulated world of the matrix; yet nihilism is not a way out because what occurs here has "real" consequences (remember Neo's bloody mouth after his first attempt in jumping?). It's not an original idea, but I think the combination of dialogue, effects, and setting along with the "deep" ideas within it make the movie compelling.

Summary: A Cartesian Delight
Review: Brilliant science fiction and a powerful extra chapter to "Meditations on First Philosophy" by Rene Descartes. Reeves gets to be the Buddha again -- the one who "woke up." Some unanswered questions. Also, it is a different genre, not a better movie, than "The Phantom Menace." Lucas, indeed, did an aesthetically similar movie, as "THX 1138."

Summary: A different sci-fi movie,,,,
Review: When I was taken by my friends to see this movie, I thought 'another boring american rambo type movie',,,however I honestly enjoyed it !!....I think the key of this movie is the argument, I mean you get immediately hooked when you think about 'reality'...what is reality anyway ??,,,this is what grabes you into the movie !!,,it is like reading the first book of Carlos Castaneda,,,you know the story is based on some kind of fiction, however the thesis, the idea, the core of the work is something else, and then if you add great special effects, action and some fine moments like the one in which she could confirm he was the one,,,then you end up with a new thing,,this is what's made this movie a huge success and I am sure it will mark a new 'style' to sci-fi movies.
