Summary: Best action adventure I've ever watched.
Review: This movie by far was the best action movie I've ever seen.The stunts and special effects were awesome. The biblical parallelwas astonishing. I plan on purchasing the video as soon as it comes out in November.

Summary: Where's the script and what's all the fuss about?
Review: I'll give this movie an extra star for its elegant effects, the rest is overrated. The endless semi intellectual dialogs throughout the movie is trying hard to be wise, but ending up just being overexplicit and dull. Although inspiration is a serious source of motivation, Matrix is stealing in a very unpleasant and obvious way from Total Recall (the reality pills and the different planes of consiousness), Bladerunner (darkness, search for inner truth) and other futuristic filmpieces. Matrix could have been given a decent script without the patronizing and silly texts, better lead character (Keanu Reeves is really no good)and less reliance on the stylish and flashy (but empty) effects. Maybe then it would deserve the hype it now still recieves, I guess only because of the lack of good Hollywood cinema, where audience is fooled to believe that once a movie rises out of the rest of the crap, it immediatly becomes a masterpiece. /Fredrik Lindgren University of Film and Art Skovde, Sweden

Summary: Twisted Reality
Review: Simply the best movie out there. It is very well thought out and has something for everybody: action, suspense, character development, and even a bit of humor. This is a definite cult classic. The Matrix is the epitome of eye candy, and even mindless action fans will love it as much as the serious philosopher. This is the type of movie that lingers in the mind, posing questions such as "What is reality?" There are hardly any bogus holes in the plot. The DVD should provide a visual treat, along with some extras. There is going to be a sequel to this movie, as Reeves has recently signed a contract for it. My guess is that it will be geared more towards action and away from the philosophy, because there really isn't much to say about something twice. However, I'll be hoping that it is as much a visual treat as this one.

Summary: It Makes You Wonder
Review: This movie was very well thought out. It makes you wonder sometimes just how real "reality" is. The Matrix really gets you thinking about what may be instead of what seems to be. Spooky.

Summary: Sit back and think for a second
Review: Don't get me wrong, Matrix is one of the best sci-fi movie in the 90's. The special effects, story, the plot and the producers, directors etc. (I could go on)are brilliant.But wait a minute, critisicing a film should have its balance of opinions, and in this case, Matrix is not all a yee-pee-do-dah or a thumb-breaking, hand clapping,and streaking out the cinema praising in the rain. Come on, Matrix had a brilliant script with millions of dollars to behind it a$$, and they could not pick the right sort actors and actress' for the film. I have nothing against Keanu Reeves, norr the director, the stunt co-ordinator or even his acting school teacher. Keanu did was not at all convincing, thus,I really think that he did not fit role as the 'Chosen One'. There are two reasons, 1)he did not have that baby innocent face which would eventually turn a killing machine, and then turn again into a angelic hero in which we should all bow and make way for the sultan ( if they researhed on Michael Jackson last album. maybe yes). Summary: The Ultimate Action movie
Review: I went to go see it thinking it was just a lot of hype like Star Wars but it was all true. The special effects are the best ever seen in any movie. Kneau Reeves and Lawerence Fishburne were so cool in it especially the very Bruce Lee fight scene they had. Carrie ann Moss was sexy as Trinity. But in all the movie kicks severe Butt. Go out and see it then buy it.

Summary: Bye bye, Jar Jar!
Review: The Matrix... what can I say? It's one of the best movies there IS. And why is it? Well likely because it turned out to be a "surprise hit". The guy who made it (sorry I don't know who) obviously wanted to create a really fun, really intense and meaningful action movie (with lots of cool effects I might add) and he definitely did so. Keanu himself said he loved it. Unlike some OTHER movies which are way too over-played and made into a really big deal for nothing, the Matrix DOESN'T suck. Buy it.

Review: I've seen the Matrix six times in the theater, and I've figured out why it's so good. Other than the first Die Hard (my second favorite movie...hint, hint), this is the only action movie that I can think of that tells you everything right up front, and then lets you sit back and enjoy the action without making you think a lot. Most action movies have crazy plot-twists and surprise endings that try to jam in a reasonable explanation before the credits roll. At the 40 minute mark of the Matrix, the entire plot is explained; you know who's good and who's bad, and then you can just stop thinking, sit back, and let the goose bumps flow. Also, I can't understand why someone who likes action and sci-fi movies wouldn't love the Matrix. The only explanation I can think of is that they just didn't get it, period. They'll argue with me, but my response would simply be..."an insane person doesn't know they're insane." One last thing...if you don't buy it on DVD, then you should be shot. If you HAVE to buy it on VHS, and you don't buy the widescreen version, then you should be shot twice.

Review: The best action ever, the best sfx ever, the best "could-be-true" plot ever, etc. Think there is something a little bit strange about the world? Maybe it is not the real world, but just a figment of your imagination. Actually, this movie proves that it is just your mind.

Summary: Film of the Millenium
Review: Undoubtly the best film to hit cinemas in the past Thousand years. Stunning visual effects, awesome soundtrack, superb acting (even from Keanu)...and a slight hint of where the idea sprung from. RPG players of the game SLA will know what i am talking about. If you only see one file in your lifetime see The MATRIX.
