Review: The powers-that-be in Hollywood are laughing their butts off.The formula: Create cartoon characters that are completelyunbelievable; get a "star" for your main character, even if he is a scrawny, wimpy, completely unrealistic action hero (see Reeves); make sure, because the hero is white, that the villains are also white and that there are plenty of sympathetic minority supporting players, lest anyone scream bigotry; come up with an "original" idea that in reality was lifted from a 30-year-old Star Trek episode; and (drumroll) fill this baby up with special effects. Bottom line: no characters, no original story, plenty of video-game special effects that, no matter how "cool" they may look, still look fake.END

Summary: The best action movie ever made
Review: When I saw this in the theatre, I found I was hardly able to breathe through the whole movie. The plot is fantastic, the action sequences some of the most impressive ever put on film...The DVD only gets better, with commentary by the director, commentary by the composer, and many short features on making different parts of The Matrix including a short documetary on making the "camera rotating around a subject" efffects that clearly shows how they are done and also does a great job of explaining the implications of just what such a filming technique can mean to a producer. This isn't just the movie to buy a DVD player for. This is the movie that will make me buy a second player just in case the first one breaks down, and prevents me from a moment when I might be without The Matrix.

Summary: WARNINING CONSUMERS
Review: Warning to people purchasing this DVD: Numerous copies are defective. I have gone through two copies, neither of which could be recognized on my DVD player (while all of my other DVD's can). When I went to replace the copies at my local store, I was told that eight had been returned within a two hour period. The encoding process went horribly wrong in this case. A serious bummer.

Summary: Matrix- Better than The Phantom Menace
Review: Matrix will totally blow you away. It has something for everyone. You will need to see it many times in order to understand the full measure of its plot. The coolest thing is that it is actually a SPIRITUAL ALLEGORY and can be seen in several contexts. Also, notably, no uncomfortable sex scenes. You definetly are more cool if you have the Matrix on DVD or VHS at home.

Review: When I went into the theater to watch it, I thought it was going to be another average action movie with explosions up the wazoo. Instead of explosions for me to gawk at, it was all the action sequences. The slow motion parts were incredible, especially with the bullets and flying pieces. My mouth was open for most of the movie not believing what I was seeing. The plot was mind-boggling and really interesting. Everybody in my family loved it, even my little sister and my mother! The Matrix is the best movie ever.

Review: I absolutely loved this movie, and I was really happy to see Keanu Reeves shine in this brilliant performance. His acting in this movie is even better than it was in Point Break. Starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Bighead.

Review: I just wrote a long review, but i've erased it all. There is one thing i have to say about this movie: IT'S THE BEST MOVIE EVER(and that is the first time i've said that about any movie). If you read any bad reviews, totally IGNORE them, i guarantee you will love it, and agree with me fully, if you don't, i'll personally refund you the money(i mean it!!)

Summary: Good Not Great
Review: Some real neat individual scenes (like stopping bullets in mid air) and a few interesting insights make for a very entertaining film but do not in my opinion put this in the same category of scc-fi thriller as The Terminator 1 (not 2), Blade Runner and Alien. Compared to thos movies The Matrix seems more like a collection of entertaining individual clips rather than a tight coherent story. But all in all worth seeing because those other movies only come along about every 7 years or so.
