Summary: Unbelievable special effects
Review: I pre-ordered the DVD for "The Matrix" as soon as it was listed on Amazon.com's web site. I knew after watching the movie with my wife and son at the theater that we had to have this movie at home to enjoy whenever we wanted. The special effects are unbelievable. You want to watch some scenes over and over again. The DVD goes into some detail about how the movie was made. I really love the added special features of DVD. The movie's plot tells a story that should satisfy anyone's craving for true Sci-Fi. It is almost as good as "The Sixth Sense", which I plan to purchase as soon as it becomes available. The only thing wrong with this movie is the ending. It should have been an exclamation point, but instead it felt more like a comma leaving you waiting for another scene. Summary: WOW, WOW and more WOW!
Review: Sci-fi movies have become a boring and mindless parade of special effects with no plot. This is DEFINATELY NOT the case with The Matrix. This movie provides both eye-popping effects with a highly involving plotline full of twists and tricks. Mr. Reeves is of course both rugged and engaging. However it is the full cast of supporting characters that round out this totally satisfying futurerama thrill ride. The characters of Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) are the most absorbing. Watch it on the biggest screen you can find! VERY good stuff!

Review: I'm a female adult. I've seen the movie three times and have purchased the DVD. Needless to say, I love it. "Speed" was my number 1 film with Keanu, but now it's been bumped to number 2. "Matrix" is groundbreaking in film making and we will see more films using this type of technique -- I welcome that. Loved all the acting -- writing -- etc. The only thing wrong with "Matrix" is -- I WANT MORE. :)

Summary: Jar Jar and the Mummy can go jerk each other off.
Review: I am one of the few people (myself and girlfriend) who has seen this movie in three different languages. English, French, and German... Capturing that innocent fun, like that of the original Star Wars, and combining it with the philosophical and mythical overtones that this movie has is quite an accomplishment. My pick for best movie of the year.

Summary: Good Cinema entertainment for the 90's
Review: This is a GREAT film on many levels! One unlike some other movies AHEM!! DARK CITY AHEM!! Dirty scenes and poor visuals arent used to sell the movies. CMON lets face Dark City may have used a simalar idea but it was ALIENS Conducting Expirements on Humans in a spaceship to find a CURE for there immortality. IN the MATRIX(this movie is So Cool) you have Artificial Intelligence enslaving the human population for it's power needs while keeping them docile and STIMULATED in a computer simulation. You see the computer siimulation was the only way to keep the human busy while using them as energy sources. those who think it is a rip off from Dark city should think about this Furthermore i think it ripped off very little from terminator (I watch Terminator almost once every week) and I still think that Terminator 1 (not 2) is the best Sci-fi in the GENRE of man against machines. Even though KEANU (bogus!!!) isn't one of the best actors and did not impress me in this film he worked okay. Furthermore alot of skeptics talk about how this movie borrows well doesn't every movie borrow in one way or another even Blade Runner (yes Blade Runner) Still in all the matrix is a good exciting movie, one of the best of 1999 which is kind of a slap in the face for this movie. But if you wan't ugly a** actors, poor visuals, Uneccessay sex scenes rent Dark City. Here is my about the matrix advice rent it

Summary: How would we know if we lived our lives inside The Matrix?
Review: I must confess. I didn't bother to see this movie when it was in the theatres. What a fool I was to miss it the first time. The Matrix is incredible, to say the least. I found myself cheering out loud, as Neo (Keanu Reeves' character) faced the powerful Agents of The Matrix. If you like good science fiction that has a great story/plot, focused acting, spell-binding special effects with wicked-raw action and a killer soundtrack, you'll cherish this movie. The emotional development of Neo, with help from his partners, was a delight to witness. I'd rate this one up with the viewing impact of movies like Blade Runner and The Terminator. You know, the kind of movie that grabs you, sweeps you into it and won't let you go? Do yourself a favor. If you still haven't seen it, rent it or buy it.

Summary: The Phantom Menace is rocked by the MATRIX
Review: 1999 has been a dismal year for Sci-Fi. We had that overhyped, over rated jar jar filled tripe called Episode 1:The Phantom Mess. I had no expectation of this movie when I went in to see it and it just blew me away. The acting was very good and plot was top notch. Definitely the best Sci-fi of the decade. It also had something which TPM sorely lacked: CHEMISTRY between the characters. I saw it 7 times in the theater and now a proud owner of the DVD. Sorry George but the Wachowski brothers can write screenplays and direct circles around you. "Welcome to the real world"

Summary: The Matrix is the craziest movie I've ever seen!
Review: I love movies and this one is my new favorite. I saw it for the first time yesterday and I want to watch it again today. It's one of those movies you have to own. The special effects are incredible and the plot is absolutely mind-blowing. Now I'm expecting to wake up some day for the first time. It really makes you think. The fight scenes were awesome, the script, the actors, the set, everything was fantastic. This is the best movie ever made. I must own it!
