The final confrontation with the agents in which neo finally masters his abilities is one of those special movie moments you remember for a long long time.If you really liked the ideas in this film, you will DEFINETLY want to learn about lucid dreaming, which also allows you to explore a different reality, just like the matrix does. Review: If you like movies like Jacob's Ladder, where you have to see it a few times to really get it, then you will LOVE this movie. Trust me. If you don't get it, then you hate it, just read the 1 star reviews here. But beyond the plot line, the direction and cinamatography are ground breaking!

Review: What I had heard most about the matrix is it's awesome special effects. For this reason, I waited untill the DVD was released to watch it at home on my widescreen television with Definitive Tech. system. It was well worth the wait because everything I had heard about this movie was true. Not only were the special effects great but the storyline was also good. If you are thinking of getting this DVD, you are on the right track to getting a great collection.

It really sort of makes you wonder is it possible for it to be true? I hope not. I encourage everyone who has not seen the movie to do so asap. You will love it, like I do.

Summary: Wow! It's like a two hour rollercoaster ride!
Review: The Matrix was an awesome cinema experience - if you didn't see it on the big screen you really missed something! This film is awesome because it scores on two fronts. Firstly it's an incredible story, a dark thought-provoking futuristic sci-fi thriller - the main premise of the movie will blow you away the first time you see it. Secondly, The Matrix looks and sounds incredible. It's beautifully shot, the action sequences are some of the best I have EVER seen on film. The main players all trained with martial arts experts full time for 4 or 5 months prior to shooting - and it shows. Add in a hard pumping soundtrack, and The Matrix is like a heart stopping ride for both your eyes and your mind.

Summary: Even "new" DVD players have a hard time with the Matrix!
Review: I have just bought a brand new player, rented this (and several others), and only had problems with the Matrix. The story line is very predictable, but the scenery and special effects could have elevated the movie. However, this DVD ruins many of these effects by echoing the most action packed sequences (esp. ch's # 1 & 30) and only serves to emphasize the shallowness of the movie. Perhaps the makers wanted a "deja vu" sense for the audience? *IF* Warner Brothers wanted to make a DVD that only works on Sony players, it should come with a warning! Otherwise, all the extras in the world will not make up for a DVD that won't play in (an otherwise) fully functioning player.
