Summary: Incredibly well done movie
Review: I'll start by saying that I've actually seen the movie 8 times in the theater. I've watched it twice at home (rental)....and I must say that the home version doesn't stack up as well, due to lighting---It just doesn't look/play out the same way at home on a television. It is an absolute must to see this movie in a theater near you if it's still showing (it was still showing in Montreal a few weeks ago--in September). I'm hoping that when I buy the letterbox version &/or the DVD version, I'm more impressed with the way it looks and feels. The Matrix is a very well done movie. Writing and cinematography are beautiful, as is the story. I didn't feel like someone had wasted two hours and change of my life.The only qualm I have with it is when Trinity brings Neo back to life at the end with a kiss. Kinda hokey, if you know what I mean (But that's the ONLY part I disliked). And the soundtrack is really good too. Rob D, Marilyn Manson, Propellerheads....Rage Against the Machine.I know that there's probably a few people who didn't enjoy this movie, but I can't help but recommend it to people when they're looking for a rental.I hope that the Matrix 2 and the Matrix 3 are done well too and that the success of the original doesn't let the Wachowskis (and the studio) think they've got a license to print and take in cash. Unfortunately, they'll be paying the actors quite a bit more money to star in parts 2 & 3....so we'll have to wait and see how well done the next two movies are done.

Review: This movie had many meanings to it...for the viewers to find out. Machines rule the world. What else can I say? It is the best movie of all time. The special effects were fantastic and I enjoyed watching it! Anyone who puts anything but 5 stars is insane.

Review: This was the most incredible movie I have ever seen in my entire life. The special effects were amazing, the acting was terrific, the story concept was extremely original and all the actors and actresses are really well known. The costumes kick and the action scenes are ones that you could watch again and again without ever getting tired of them. The most incredible movie...ever.

Summary: Great special effects battle a confused and muddled script
Review: An interesting idea for a movie, with dazzling special effects, degenerates as quickly as possible to a tedious barrage of noise and action movie cliches for those with short attention spans. It's as if the script writers have fallen asleep while this work was in process. But not the special effects people and artists. The visuals do a good job of distracting you from how lame, one-sided, inconsistant, and un-inspired the story really is. Finally, in the last five minutes, the movie completely falls appart, making no attempt at logic whatsoever, leaving you with countless unanswered questions. The very last scene is incongruous to the rest of the movie. If a sequel is made, let's hope it's more consistant and thoughtful than this one. You could do a lot worse than the Matrix, but it failed to live up to it's hype.
