Rating: Summary: Why they did this Review: Robocop 3 has to be the worst possible movie in the series. While the first and the second had great humour and quite gory action sequenses the third installment hasn't got any of the critsism against the corporate world and the plot of the movie is simply rubbish .The film is made for kids and the flying Robocop just makes you wanna cry .I gave one star just because Basil Poledouris great theme is back from the first film.
Rating: Summary: RoboRocks!!! Review: RoboCop 3 is not as offensive as the first two and has an awsome movie concept!RoboCop 3 is a great thrill ride from beging to end.Although it is only rated one star by critics, I give it two thumbs up!Robert Burke is a great actor for the part and gives this climactic adventure a touch of drama, action, and humor. The PG-13 rating is what makes it better for younger ages to view and not as violent. Because my father and me trust and like Amazon.Com, you can trust this will be excellent quality guarenteed! Enjoy your purchase!
Rating: Summary: Underrated film, but has it's flaws (3.5 stars) Review: Robocop 3 is to me very much underrated. Now, I'm not saying it's an incredible movie, but it definitely is deserving ENOUGH of a film to be declared as a real part of the Robocop series. Fortunately the plot has actual depth and meaningful characters (if you ask me, even though the first 2 films were great, the plots weren't anything we haven't already seen a hundred times before), and goes through a few twists in between. The action is relatively bloodless (given the PG-13 rating) but there are still a good number of explosions and gunplay. The dialogue isn't bad, and most of the actors do a pretty good job throughout. I enjoyed sitting through this one, sure there were a few corny parts but the first 2 Robo's had a few of them too. Lots of old characters make a return in this one (surprisingly, I didn't think they'd see any potential in this film, on the other hand, they're all for the most part no-name actors), and it's cool to see them again, one returning character actually dies and it's not something you see coming. I especially loved the new RoboNinja that does battle with Robocop, it was very original and very cool to watch, those effects were done very well. Now onto the downfalls. First thing is some special effects, they're second rate. Most especially is the part where Robocop puts on his jet pack and flies over a gang of punks with guns shooting at police, the flying sequences look like something out of the first Superman movie back in the late 70's. It's Pretty cheesy for a 90's film. Secondly, the whole film, though mostly entertaining, feels more like a long cartoon. Mostly because of the bloodless action, it all just has a slight cheese feel to it. This was definitely not apparant with Paul Verhoven's original classic, the bloodshed in that film gave it an overwhelming realism. Thirdly, and most especially, was the absence of Peter Weller as Robocop. He was replaced with Robert John Burke as the same character, Alex Murphy. Now even though the make-up department did a great job of making John Burke look like Peter Weller (because he does have a striking resemblence, in the film at least), the same cannot be said about John Burke's voice. He sounds wimpy, and uncommanding. Peter Weller's voice was so strong and powerful as Robocop, he really sounded like a machine. It may not sound like much of a flaw but when you watch the first 2 films and this one you'll see what I'm talking about, there's just something missing without Peter weller, it doesnt REALLY feel like you're watching Robocop. Overall, this was a pretty good, underrated film with flaws. If you've seen the first 2 and haven't seen this one yet, I'd suggest to give it a rental, it's a worthy companion despite all the negative criticism it's gotten by Robocop fans.
Rating: Summary: After this one, no reason for a Robo 4 Review: RoboCop 3 was a show I strongly anticipated. I expected a continuation of Robo 2: The evil mistress in prison possibly teaming up with a revived Clarence Boddicker from Robo 1. They somehow get out and terrorize Detroit. Who knows? Could be far fetched but I thought the ending of 2 was a good setup for 3. Instead, we've got a boring bad guy with an English accent and a show with nothing I could find to get interested in. The diabolic, sinister Boddicker in 1 and Cain in 2 are replaced by some bad guy wanna be. I even gave my #3 away its so bad.
Rating: Summary: The best of them all Review: Robocop rocks in this movie! First he's got a new gun that can snap to his hand then he's got a jet-pack. This is a must see.
Rating: Summary: Why Why WHY? Review: Robocop: An awesome cult classic that is one of my favorite movies.Robocop 2: Had some problems, but not too bad. Still, nothing compared to the first one. It was still dark and violent, at least. And Robocop happened? Everything that made Robocop so good in the first place is all taken out of this flop of a movie. Oh man, is it terrible! This is a true example of Hollywood trying to make a quick buck. There was no thought process that went into this movie whatsoever. And, pretty much like any other sequel or installment, it loses all of the danger, evil, and violence that was found in the first two. Robocop......PG-13.......... Okay. While we're at it, why not make a sequel to "Pulp Fiction" and have it rated G. Okay. And while we're at it, we'll make another Crow movie and turn it into a Walt Disney cartoon so everyone can enjoy it! Jeez! So, "Robocop 3" basically stinks on every level. However, I must confess that if I were given a choice between this or "Batman and Robin," chances are I'd go with this one. Still, do not consider that a complement. Rating: Summary: Violence anyone ? Review: Scriptwise, Robocop 3 is superior to the second film. Unfortunately this movie lacks what made the first two good:violence. Why did they have to make it PG-13?
Rating: Summary: Hoo boy Review: Such a GREAT idea!!! Japanese Robocops!!! Yeah! well, wait a minute! this film Lost some things! Its dark humor is there, but the over the top mocking violence is gone!!! and something happens to a character that pisses me off!! such potential with this film, with a script by the "dark knight returns" creator "Frank Miller", this film should have Hit the mark, instead it turns out to be "just another soggy sequel"!!! Still a "Fun" movie in its own right, it just doesnt hold up to the first two.
Rating: Summary: Just Plain Awful Review: The first and second Robocop films were great. I loved the over-the-top action and humor elements in both films. Robocop 3 is a pure, unadulterated disaster. First off, it is way too tame (a PG-13 rating??!!). Second, the "plot" is completely ruined by the introduction of the "cute little kid who is a computer whiz" character, what a travesty! Third, the movie is actually boring; a boring Robocop movie! I could go on and on, but why bother. They dare to put this garbage on DVD?
Rating: Summary: You're Friendly Neighborhood Robocop. Review: The first ROBOCOP was great. It has become one of the classic action films from the 1980s. ROBOCOP 2 was much darker, but suffered from a severe lack of originality. ROBOBCOP 3 is the last movie in the series and in it everything comes full circle. ROBOCOP has become a legendary agent of justice that the people of Detroit love, compared to the way the populace looked at him in the first film. The old man in charge of OCP has been removed and the company is taken over by a much larger Japaneese firm. OCP's longtime plans to own and take over the city of Detroit are finally brought to fruition. A Nazi-like state is formed and the citizens of Detroit begin a rebellion against the Rehabilitation Forces. In the process, officer Anne Lewis is gunned downed and Robocop/Murphy vows to avenge her death. This is the one movie in the series that kids can actually watch. There's some violence, but instead of the grim and gritty kind of the first two films, it is a cartoon violence. The movie has a better story than the second film, but not as well written as the first. Nevertheless, it's still a good way to end the series.
