Summary: Good effects and Keanu -- what more do you want?
Review: I must admit I have a fondest for Keanu Reeves but I don't see everything he is in and I am a picky science fiction fan. That said the effects were wonderful, the twists entertaining, the questions about the nature of reality intriguing, and the sound track intense. Of course this is a rehash of the "machine will be humanity's downfall" but an interesting turn on the old idea of mere slave or destruction.

Summary: How would we know if we lived our lives inside The Matrix?
Review: I must confess. I didn't bother to see this movie when it was in the theatres. What a fool I was to miss it the first time. The Matrix is incredible, to say the least. I found myself cheering out loud, as Neo (Keanu Reeves' character) faced the powerful Agents of The Matrix. If you like good science fiction that has a great story/plot, focused acting, spell-binding special effects with wicked-raw action and a killer soundtrack, you'll cherish this movie. The emotional development of Neo, with help from his partners, was a delight to witness. I'd rate this one up with the viewing impact of movies like Blade Runner and The Terminator. You know, the kind of movie that grabs you, sweeps you into it and won't let you go? Do yourself a favor. If you still haven't seen it, rent it or buy it.

Summary: All style no substance/immoral hero
Review: I must dissent. The Matrix strings together enough sci-fi cliches to stretch from coast to coast. It's all been written or seen in films before. All The Matrix adds are top-notch effects. Furthermore, our two heroes in one scene strut into a building, and to get to the bad guys, they slaughter (in graphic detail) a dozen or so innocent security guards who have no clue as to what's going on. And to make it worse the woman at one point grabs away a guy's gun, so the guy is now defenseless, and then she shoots him in the back with a machine gun. This is a hero? These are the people we're supposed to root for? I think NOT.

Summary: The worst action movie EVER
Review: I must have fell asleep atleast three times during this movoe. It did not meet the expectations i had heard. The action scences were out of context. If you like good movies, do not waste your time seeing this one.

Summary: Best Keanu Movie Ever
Review: I must say Keanu is one of my actors, and the character of which he portrayed in Matrix was no exception. I saw Matrix in the big screen, and it left me speechless. I preordered Matrix on DVD, and I'm sure it'll have sharper picture than in the theatres. Only thing you'll lack from the DVD copy's that you won't get the theatre quality sound. I don't care what kind of sound system you have... unless you are George Lucas living at the Skywalker Ranch. My recommendation, a must get for Sci-Fi audience.

Summary: Good graphics. Confusing story!
Review: I must say that this movie has good graphics.Even though I'm not a big fan of Keanu Reeves, his acting was very orignal in this movie. Though the only bad part of the movie is it has not got a very good story. The action was the best part of the movie.Even though it's not got a good story, I give it three stars.

Summary: The Movie of the Year!!!
Review: I need not tell anymore that The Matrix is a great action-packed motion picture. Almost all of those who have watched it could attest to that (except for the positively brain-dead), not only with its original concept by the Wachowski Brothers (Larry and Andy rule!), but also with the fantastic visual effects by John Gaeta, incredible fight scenes by Yuen Wo Ping, and astounding production design by Owen Paterson. Put together, the product of these geniuses made a superb sci-fi action-adventure masterpiece.

In the DVD, you won't get shortchanged with all of the special features it offers. From the "Follow the White Rabbit" behind-the-scene mode alone, you really get great value for your DVD money.

This movie really rocks!

Summary: Deeper than just a "Cyberspace" movie
Review: I never cease to be amazed at the idiots who think this is just another brainless romp through cyberspace. It's pretty obvious that the story of "awakening" is symbolic of the awakenings found in other mythologies. The scene with Neo waking up in the tank is such an archetypal "rebirth" experience that it's hard to imagine how so many people missed it.

There are a lot of philosophical elements tied into this film, as many other reviewers have noted. But the most heartfelt parts of the film come not at the end, but at the beginning. The feeling of alienation, that something is "not quite right" in the world, it all adds up to a commentary on the current twenty-something outlook on the world.

If you still haven't seen the Matrix, do so.
