Summary: can you say spectacular effects
Review: The special effects are enough to make you buy it. Trust me no matter how much this movie is you should buy it

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Really Good!
Review: the special effects are GRRRReat! the story is a bit complicated, but if you have the volume turned up really loud, you'll get it after it's over and your younger brother explains it to you. don't get anyother version besides the one on DVD, 'cause the sound isn't as good, and you can see it all better. If you wan't the movie because of Keanu, sorry, but he's relly pale, and he doesn't have any muscles

Summary: excellent
Review: the special effects are some of the best ever and the plot will just leave you trippin with the view of the world as just some kind of virtual reality

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Cool FX, clever story
Review: The special effects are thrilling, and the story is quite original, although it belongs to the general genre of "machines-take-over-the-world" scheme. I loved it (all 10 times!), and I was mostly captured by the superbe effects and all that magnificent action. However, these are the only memories the movie has left me with. I just remember the big jumps and the extraordinary kicks - maybe cause I only see these from now on, when I play the DVD! Maybe the "boring scenes" should have had more depth and leave an imprint in the viewer's memory, just like all the action. In any case, it's a great movie, that introduces the new entry-level action all movies of this genre should have from now on!

Summary: Awesome special effects and acting.
Review: The special effects are what grabbed me. The storyline was great...you could parallel it to a "religious" theme. When I was done watching it, my spirits were lifted. ... and of course, the fact that Keanu Reeves was in it didn't hurt, either... ;) (Hope you're reading this, Keanu!) The only thing that bothered me (and it was nothing, really) is that Laurence Fishburne's glasses were on crooked in parts of the movie. (I told you it was nothing - just annoying.) Although a little bloody, the action was almost nonstop. Great movie, guys!

Summary: Great concept - movie fell short on the execution
Review: The special effects in "The Matrix" were spellbinding. Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne weren't exactly suburb actors in the film, but they weren't exactly bad either. But I feel this movie lacks one principle that makes a great movie: great writing. Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus walks Neo (portrayed by Keanu Reeves) through a lot of discussion of what the matrix is, in the middle of the film. This fits into the category of 'exposition', a definite problem with script writing. It would have been better if the character Neo would have been involved with more drama while actually figuring out what the matrix is. In a movie like "Star Wars", the characters are placed in a setting unlike our world..."In a galaxy far, far away." The action in "Star Wars" moves from one scene to another without the characters stopping whatever they're doing, then sitting around and explaining how the Millennium Falcon jumps to light speed or how the Death Star destroys planets...the viewer actually sees the stars race across the screen as the Millennium Falcon gets away from the Empire fighters, and see how Princess Lea painfully watches her own planet get destroyed. In "The Matrix", besides the long scene that gets bogged down by exposition, there isn't much to character development. If you take away all the amazing special effects, there wasn't that much in the script to hold the characters together. I am bothered how this movie is considered a "thinking man's sci-fi thriller". After all I just said, I really didn't feel this movie lived up to that promise.

Summary: Nice Action/Weak Story
Review: The special effects in this movie are absolutely amazing. The fight choreography was a little weak, but to be expected when working with the likes of Reeves and Fishburne. The bad guys are cool and the setting is great. This movie is definately worth a look. Still, there are some HUGE holes in the plot, not great acting, and a very thin rationale for blowing away innocents who happen to get in the way. Look past these minor flaws and you'll have a good time.

Summary: GETS 4-STARS ON SPECIAL EFFECTS ALONE !
Review: The Special effects in this movie is enough to own this movie.. they were nothing less then spectular.. the story line isnt very good but the effects make up for it and a great performance by Laurence Fishburne..

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Never have I seen such ACTION in a fight sequence-AWESOME!!!
Review: The special effects in this movie were BRILLIANT! I loved how they added that extra oomph to otherwise dreary kung fu action. Keanu Reeves RULES!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Great special effects! Not so good story.
Review: The special effects were better than Episode 1's effects. THat's the only reason I gave it three stars. The story itself isn't that good. I would suggest seeing it know and then if you like seeing really cool stuff. If you just care about the story of a film then don't buy this.
