Summary: A Movie Made For DVD?
Review: After I first watched this film I was amazed. Later I upgraded my A/V receiver. Watched it again, more stunning. This movie should be included with every DVD player purchased. Simply amazing. The sounds, the sights are unmatched by anything else on the market. Period. Probably more stunning than the quality is the fact that a movie was made with Keanu Reeves that covered his poor acting. I mean this guy is horrible, yet I can't notice it. Trinity and Morpheus are great. The extras also surpass any other DVD. Seeing how it was put together and how the bullet time effects were done was fascinating. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. Granted the sci-fi aspect may repel some viewers, they should still watch it, just for some scenes, (all bullet time scenes and the lobby scene.) Well worth the money, you won't regret it.

Summary: "The Matrix" Is A Philosophy Major's Dream!
Review: After seeing "The Matrix," I walked out into the night contemplating our matrix, our life. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie for many reasons! One reason is the chemistry between Trinity and Neo. Everything seemed to fall into place between the two. Another reason is the action sequences in the film. They were done well and choreographed well too. The major reason as to why I gave this movie five stars, is for its story, its world. "The Matrix" forced me to live in its world for two hours and some minutes! And those two hours and some minutes, were well spent! What is frightening is that "The Matrix" and its world is not that different as ours. This is why I gave this movie five stars.

Summary: Edge of the seat entertainment
Review: After seeing this movie and the short film on the making of same, I am happy to give the 5 star rating. The special effects, unusual treatment of the usual violence and premise of humans as losers in a war with AI makes this movie special. It is a cartoon storyboard come to life, literally, on the screen. The two young fellows who made it have got the creative stuff! Hope they can keep it up and bring more unusual movies to us.

Summary: You will look at your world just a little differently
Review: After seeing this movie I was so paranoid and thought that the whole world was out to get me. This is one of the best sci-fi thriller I have ever seen. The way that the movie combines sci-fi and real life will scare you to death. The use of the agents and humans makes you want to say, "Yes, officer, just don't kill me. Please?" Keanu Reeves is excellent in this movie and has come a long way from his days on "Bill and Ted". Lawrence Fishburne and Carrie-anne Moss display what it means to be a true action sci-fi star. I loved this movie from start to finish. Welcome to the edge.

Summary: It blew my socks off!
Review: After waiting for what feels like forever for this movie to open in Swedish theatres I managed to get a ticket for the opening night. I must say that I was kinda sceptic at first since Keanu Reeves was the leading actor, and I have seen many movies that he has totaly destroyed with his acting, and it almost seemed as if he was going to destroy this one aswell. But then the twist of the movie kicks in. He is the only actor that could do the part of Neo convincing. He acts kinda stupid and slow as always, but the thing is that it works. (You have to see the film to know what I am talking about) The FX in the movie are awsome. This alone is a very good reason to go see the movie. My recomendation is to see it on a big screen first.

Summary: The Matrix DOES have you...
Review: After watching countless movies in my life, I've really come to a point that I believe we all know what to expect in each movie even before it's shot. The same storylines, same structure over and over again. So, in the quest to find that novelty, the original movie, the original story, something that hasn't been done over and over and over, I was kind of honoured to be offered this movie to watch. It is surely a 5-star winner. Get it, or miss the opportunity to relive the definition of entertainment.

Summary: Keeping It Real.
Review: After watching THE MATRIX recently in preparation for seeing the upcoming sequel, I was amazed once again. THE MATRIX is a hallmark film; like JAWS, STAR WARS, and SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, it is a movie that has influenced almost every film made since its release and changed the way movies are made. The special effects are spectacular, the action intense, and the plot extremely well-written.

However, all that withstanding, what really makes THE MATRIX stand out from other sci-fi/action films is the philosophical and allegorical slant of the story. The film is immersed in the philosophy and religion of the West, embodying everything from Plato to the Bible. That fact makes this much more than a "dumb movie about cyberspace" or "another movie about machines". Instead, THE MATRIX is a thinking person's movie, a movie that is not only interesting to watch but that also raises questions and thoughts that a person thinks about long after the final credits have rolled across the screen.

Finally, THE MATRIX is the first film where Keneau Reeves acts. Until THE MATRIX, Reeves was such a poor actor that he could never quite leave behind his "Bill and Ted" persona (if you've ever seen MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, you'll know what I mean).

Summary: This is the best movie because of its suspense and drama.
Review: After watching The Matrix, I was in a daze. I love deep, philosophical movies that make me think, and this was one of them. Keanu Reeves gave one of his best performances and became even more incredible as the movie progressed. I was mesmerized at a few of the points that were made, and which really struck home, such as "If you're going to hit me, hit me...don't think about it". This movie taught many lessons for life and how to survive in the world. I was sitting on the edge of my seat the entire length of the movie; it captived me so much. If you like suspense, science fiction, drama, and philosophy, then you will just love this movie as much as I do.

Summary: I Just Realized Something!
Review: After watching this movie in the theaters I was incredibly confused. I couldn't understand why Keanu came across so believable. I knew from past films that his acting is bad (borderline atrocious). Remember Bill & Ted? Point Break? Dangerous Liasons? Speed? I can go on.

Well. I recently came to a revelation. Keanu played Neo so well because..... HE ONLY HAD LIKE 10 LINES IN THE WHOLE MOVIE!

But seriously, this is the best out there in terms of visual effects, sound, and pure imagination. And the DVD has plenty of goodies for all those "behind-the-scenes-buffs". I haven't experienced any glitches in the DVD. All smooth and constant picture and sound. Enjoy. And for the next 2 installments, let's pray that Keanu shuts up again!
