Summary: What is the Matrix? One awesome DVD
Review: A truly awesome AC3 experience... I recommend it to any sci-fi buff who dosen't mind a little mind bending... The only really good Keaneu Reeves film to date... The story was great, the soundtrack was good, etc. Not one of the greats, but definately above average.

Review: A very entertaining movie, but I don't see why it was nominated for best picture. It was a little too "summer blockbuster" for my taste. Never the less, this is a great movie to add to your collection.

Summary: A good, entertaining movie
Review: A very slick, clever movie though not as profound as many would have you believe. The story is a familiar one - a man is the chosen one but must discover and believe in himself first - but the backdrop for it is vastly more interesting than most similar movies and the special effects are both excellent and well-used. There's a lot that is hastily explained and a pretty pointless, romantic subplot but, depending on what you expect from an action/adventure/scifi movie, there's nothing that detracts from it too much. For those that enjoy the genre, I certainly recommend it.

Summary: a true masterpiece
Review: about once a decade we are given a movie in the science fiction genre that is a true masterpiece. in 1982 Ridley Scott gave us Blade Runner, a perfect blend of an apocolyptical story and a brilliant directorial perspective. in 1999, we are graced with the sheer power of The Matrix. this film is a unique blend of a complex and intriguing plot, absolutely seamless special effects, truly remarkable direction/cinematography, and believable acting. (now Keannu Reeves is certainly no Harrison Ford, but he actually played the part well.)let me qualify this by saying that action films are not normally my gig. that said, even the "shoot em up" sequences are truly a pleasure to watch, mainly due to the director's artistic vision. this truly is an incredible film. now only 17 more years for another...

Review: Absolutely Awesome - it had just about everything needed: good vs evil, hi-tech vs the human spirit, hero gets the girl in the end, a not-too shabby display of martial arts! Few mortal minds can watch this movie a second time in a hurry (mine included)! And just when I thought it was safe to flip on the T.V. again, the word is out: "Jet Li is likely to appear in the sequels." Proof that GOD is Good.
