Summary: A Blessing for Rudy Ray Fans
Review: Personally, I don't think there's anything quite as compelling as a good documentary, and this is a really good documentary. I've been a Dolemite fan for ages, but I knew nothing about Rudy Ray's career before the '70s, like when he first introduced the Dolemite character, or that fifty years ago he was known as R&B singer Prince Dumar.
On the surface this video would seem to appeal mostly to hardcore Rudy Ray fans, but I think it has something to offer any fan of Blaxploitation or early R&B, or for that matter anybody who's into hip-hop culture or contemporary Black comedians.
This is a great video that deserves repeated viewings.
