Summary: James Bond Never Dies
Review: "Tomorrow Never Dies" is great James Bond flick. Pierce Brosnan returns as 007 after his so-so debut in "GoldenEye" and shows that he has the strengths to be the franchise's #2 all time Bond. You all know who #1 is don't you???Steping in with the right amount of cunning and humor, Brosnan's Bond takes on a media tycoon who is influencing the world's events for the sake of high ratings and higher newspaper sales. This premise is appropriatly 90's just as "A View to a Kill" was totally 80's. But the movie works, in fact it works very well with the aide of suprisingly strong Bond supporting players; Jonathan Price, Teri Hatcher and Michelle Yeoh. With a strong leading performance, an interesting plot, solid 007 action and good supporting players, this film proves to be Brosnan's best Bond to date.

Summary: A Decent Addition To Pierce's Role As Bond..
Review: Tomorrow Never Dies (TND) was Pierce Brosnan's second film as Bond. It was a nice addition to GoldenEye, but TND could of had more action to it. The movie had great graphics, cool gadgets, and beautiful babes, but the action didn't quit get there. But don't let me review stop you from buying this!! TND is still a great movie to at least rent. Bond films will never die and TND is helping keeping them alive.I you liked Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye you will surely love his latest film Tomorrow Never Dies. It is well worth the purchase and makes a great addition to any Bond collection.

Summary: You bet it's better than Goldeneye!
Review: This film had some nice touches and some BRILLIANT chase scenes (there were definitely not enough of those in Goldeneye) and a really, really horrible villain. With Renard in The World Is Not Enough, you could feel almost sorry for him, and with 006 in Goldeneye you could see where he was coming from, but this Carver guy is just horrible, slimy and sneaky. I thought it was a bit obvious at the end when Bond and Wai Lin went off together, that didn't need to happen and could've been left out. Still, it's not bad, and it's better than a piece of wet fish. Right?

Summary: Certainly better than Goldeneye--Brosnan arrives as 007
Review: Goldeneye put the whole series in jeopardy--not enough 007 theme music coupled with the action. This movie restores the artistry of music/action and Brosnan arrives as 007. The Terri Hatcher/Brosnan chemistry ignites the screen and almost takes away the movie's focus, what does Brosnan like about BITING his women, anyone else notice this? It was sad to see Hatcher's Paris go, but it makes you feel no mercy for the villain, who you can't wait to get his just deserts! The action scenes are awesome as Bond and his Chinese operative close in on the madman, culminating in a gun battle on a stealth ship employing realistic weaponry. The ultimate Bond movie question is would you watch it again, I could watch this movie with its haunting Sheryl Crow theme song, lovely Terri Hatcher, the non-stop action again and again.

Summary: Even the girls weren't hot
Review: Firstly, allow me to say that I love the video game. That being established, I can go on to write the rest of this review. Granted, I'm probably not the most qualified person to be writing this as I actually fell asleep in the theatre . . . even with THX. I actually find histology more engaging than I found this movie, which is pretty amazing considering how damn boring histology is. The funny thing is that when I woke up, realizing the inappropriatness of drooling in a public place, I hadn't missed a thing. In a nutshell, James Bond has a buch of gadgets, he blows stuff up, drinks some martinis, has some sex and then saves the day. Actually, even the sex was bad. How can anyone do a sex scene without nudity? I mean without nudity, all you've really got is weird sounds. If this review helps one person to not watch this movie, I will feel satisfied. The only reason this movie didn't get one star was because that one star is reserved for THE worst movie ever made - Michael.

Summary: The Real James Bond Returns
Review: Pierce Brosnan in his second film as James Bond delivers above and beyond anything I could have imagined after his appearance in "GoldenEye." In two years he has gained maturity and a physical presence that consummates his overall performance of Bond when combined with his intelligence, wit and charm that he delivers flawlessly with assured confidence. This film brings a realistic and gritty look to the series that "Licence To Kill" attempted to, but failed. This is one of the best films of the series and ranks next to "Goldfinger" and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" combing an integral plot with rich characters, action and suspense. Director Donald Spottiswoode never diverted the focus of the film away from the main plot, yet he gave a sense of real depth to the characters. He has a good understanding of how to deliver action with emotional impact. He did a brilliant job and has been highly underrated for his efforts. Also, the producers finally discovered a composer that could combine the traditional and highly personalized sound of John Barry with today's trends in scoring for this genre in the talented David Arnold. Arnold much evidently has a good understanding of the series and the character of James Bond. I hope the producers don't let him get away.

Summary: Great action but empty
Review: This film takes 007 and turns him into just another action hero after one of those shady billionaire villains. The lagging plot is saved by some incredible stunt work, but the characters have been "updated" so badly are hardly recognizable. Joe Don Baker is terrible in his two scenes playing the obnoxious American the British love to hate, and Dench's coquettish smiles at Bond's behavior border on silly. Bring back Connery and Moore...heck, even Lazenby and Dalton!

Summary: Should be 3.5, but can't be 3
Review: This film isn't good enough to be called great. It isn't bad enough to be called just okay. It's just in between, so I gave it 4 stars. Why? Well, after being so impressed with Goldeneye, I was expecting an even better follow up, but after saying how great an enemy 006 was, they gave me another loser bad guy. Who is Elliot Carver anyway? A millionaire who can't do anything but whine and complain. He needs Stamper, his sidekick, to do the work for him. Does this look like another movie I've seen before? How about nearly every James Bond film! I was really getting sick of the bad guys that couldn't fight back until 006 walked onto the scene, but he's dead and gone now. So we're forced to settle with the same ole bad guys. But it's James Bond, really. I love them all in some way, and like the rest, I do like the film. For the first time we really got to see a good chase in his BMW, unlike Goldeneye where he uses it for all of two minutes at the most. That was a good thing to see. And the action was still top notch. And the plot was better than Goldeneye too, so who am I to complain? It was a good movie, and despite it's loser villian in Carver, Brosnan played 007 better in Goldeneye's sequel. Seeing him stop Carver from starting World War III was a great plot, but if Carver could actually fight back a little.....well, that would've been helpful. In conclusion, if you liked Goldeneye at all, you'll probably be slightly disappointed with Tomorrow Never Dies. But it's not all that bad. In fact, it's still pretty good. Just think of it this way: if you actually sat through Timothy Dalton's Bond films, this will be heaven.

Summary: Formalic it is, But its the best Bond entry in years.
Review: Pierce Brosnan shows up again the second time around as the suave sopshicated 007 James Bond, this time around he`s up against media mogul Ellot Carver(Pryce)who wants to dominate the world through his t.v, radio, and newspaper empire and tries to to ignite a war between Brittan and China and himself getting the exclusive coverage, So Bond has 48 hours to investigate and try to put a stop to Carver`s plans. Carver`s wife who at one time was Bond`s former lover(Which One?!)tries to get information from her. Once Carver finds out about her adultery he has her killed in Bond`s Hotel room. Bond then joins up with Wai Lin a beautiful Chinese Secret Agent who matches Bond in anything hold for hold. Memorable scene was when Bond kills Carver with a massive cutting machine. As well the car chases when Bond is being pursued by Carver`s men in a parking lot with Bond controling the car the use of a handy pocket calculator. Basically this film is like comfort food we know exactly what were ordering and how it will turn out. For James Bond fans who have been follwing the series this is one of the best in years. The sexism and Womanizing are completly gone and thus makes a decent effort to change with the times.

Review: TOMORROW NEVER DIES is a remake of SPY WHO LOVED ME, which was a ripoff of YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. In TND, a billionaire tries to maneuver Britain and Red China into a war, using his stealth ship. Bond teams up with a sexy Communist Chinese counterpart to foil the billionaire. In SWLM, a billionaire tries to maneuver the US and USSR into a war, using his submarine (stealth ship). Bond teams up with a sexy Communist Soviet counterpart to foil the billionaire. In YOLT, a billionaire tries to maneuver the US and USSR into a war, using his volcano (stealth mountain). Bond teams up with a sexy Japanese counterpart to foil the billionaire. Maybe it's because Bond is an adolescent taste, but I grew bored with Bond as I entered the 1980s. Maybe. But I also think the earlier Connerey/Moore films (and the Fleming books) are better than these Dalton/Brosnan films. There's something anemic about TOMORROW NEVER DIES. Brosnan has the dark hair and Brit accent, yet he lacks Bond's presence. The women are attractive, but they lack the charisma of the earlier women -- Barbara Bach is still the best Bond woman. Maltin is right, there's something mechanical about TOMORROW NEVER DIES. Anemic characters going through the motions, engaging in the requisite car chases and explosions. There is one good motorcycle chase, with some new stunt tricks. But most of the film is been there, done that. It's gotta be tough coming up with new stunts and chases. How many ways are there to knock over a fruit cart? Odd, how I vividly remember the Bond novels and films from when I was 13, but how the newer Dalton/Brosnan films blur and fade in my memory.
