Summary: Cameos
Review: Gambit wasn't really a cameo, it was just his name on a list of mutants.
Scene: Mystique enters Yuriko's office, looking up Erik (Magneto) on the computer, right above his name on the list she accesses, the name Remy LaBeau (Gambit), is seen.

Beast was in his human form on a newscast.
Scene: Mystique (Rebecca Romjin-Stamos) in her natural self, is at the bar. On the TV, you can see after showing the mutant riots, a interview with Hank McCoy (Beast).

Then the actual appearences by Colossus, Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat), and Siryn. Jubilee actually had a scene in this one, but it was not added to the final cut, but can be seen on the DVD as a deleted scene.

Summary: Arguably the best comic book film ever
Review: I waited for three years for "X2" to be released, and I walked into the theater saying to myself, "Please God, don't let this movie suck like Batman and Robin". I walked out of it a happy person, as Bryan Singer continues the X-Men saga in high fashion.

"X2" is an improvement over its predecessor in almost every single way. It is longer and the charatcers are given more screen time. The action is better (the military attack on the X-school is probably the film's action highlight). The script is tighter and more focused, and the film is overall much more ambitious.

Singer took some obvious risks with "X2". Its themes are very dark for a mainstream comic book movie- genocide, parental rejection, repressed trauma. Magneto continues to be a great villain- not evil, but horribly misguided. Forcing him and the X-Men into an uneasy alliance was probably Singer's best move. The theme of the X-Men's curse is made more obvious here- they are doomed to protect people who hate and fear them. However, beneath all the darkness, this film is still fun- there's a couple moments of comic relief, and Wolverine still exudes a playful charm. Singer manages to strike the right balance here between welcome in-jokes and downright campiness, such as what the "Batman" franchise fell into.

To make things even better, "X2" is fully loaded with special features, including commentary and several making-of documentaries. I would highly recommend this film not only for X-Men fans, but fans of good action films in general. It's much better than most of the other stuff released this year, a welcome relief from the disappointments of "Daredevil", "The Matrix" sequels, and "Terminator 3". I simply love this movie.

Summary: Marvel and 20th Century Fox are going full speed ahead...
Review: It's kind of interesting to note that only a few days after this movie was released and both Marvel and 20th Century Fox were pleased with how the public reacted to the movie, they started making plans to do more movie business together. Some of which Avi Arad has already mentioned, and there will be more announcements to follow soon. Only a month later, HULK (The first production between Marvel and Universal was released) which opened to mixed reviews. Although core Marvel fans liked it (and Universal made a pretty good DVD out of it as well), but with the X-Men movies clearly having open the door for Marvel's characters to get good movies on them, I am now all in 100% support of Marvel/Fox movie productions.

Summary: Best Movie This Year
Review: X2 is an amazing film. It is filled with contant action that will leave you on the edge of your seat. You do not necessarily have to be an X-men fan to enjoy the movie. However, die hard fans will enjoy the cameo's by such characters as Beast, Gambit, Siren and Shadowcat, as well as the increased role of Jubilee, Colossus and Iceman. I highly reccomend this DVD.

Summary: Summer Movie Plus!
Review: This movie has all the requisite summer movie ingredients: lots of action, adventure and special effects. It also has something many summer movies don't have: humanity. All of the characters in the film are deeply challenged and have to deal with painful decisions and loss. Bryan Singer does an excellent job keeping the action moving and the characters developing.

The three sequences that resonated most with me were:

1. Wolverine's fight with Deathstrike. Up until this point in the movie, Wolverine has probably killed or disabled dozens of adversaries without showing any emotion other than anger. Then we get to see the shock and horror on his face when he realizes he's killed the only other person with a mutation similar to his own. This moment shows us that there is a real human being lurking under all of that rage.

2. Iceman running from his parents' house after Pyro's rampage. He turns and looks back at his (formerly) loving family for probably the last time. In that moment, he knows nothing in his life would be the same.

3. Pyro joining Magneto and Mystique. All through the movie, we see Pyro chafing at the restrictions placed on mutants under Professor Xavier's direction. This choice, like many decision teenagers are faced with, will shape the rest of his life.

The movie have similar developments for all the returning X-men. These were just the ones that I found the most compelling, which makes me think that anyone who watches this movie will find their own resonating stories in one or many of the X-men!

Summary: X Men of Honor
Review: The "X Men" saga continues as the X Men, Magneto, & Mystique join forces to battle an evil general bent on destroying all mutant life on Earth. The film is quite an improvement over the original (that film seemed to take too much time setting up the characters w/ not much time to tell the story. Not so in "X2"). The visuals are pretty cool w/o getting annoying (like "Harry Potter" & "The Matrix" films). The characters are what (like the first one) fuel this story. Die hard "X" fans should keep a sharp eye for the following mutants - Colussus, The Beast, Gambit, Syren, & Jubilee. I have no problem watching this film over & over. Great stuff.

Summary: An eXcellent dvd for the summers best blockbuster!
Review: X-men 2 was the best movie to grace the silver screen this year, and its one of the best sequels ever made. This movie is so good that it even surpasses its predicecer (X-men) and it introduces increadable new characters. The special effects and action in this movie are breathtaking, and all the action will keep you on the edge of your seat. This 2-disk dvd is packed with special features, and nearly a dozen deleted/extended scenes. There are 2 seperate commentaries for the movie and a number of behind the scenes documentaries. Strap yourself for an awsome story with explosive action. Highly recomended.

Summary: Much better than the first one
Review: I saw this one on a dare from a friend, not expecting much since the first one was so goofy and boring.

There are still some major continuity problems; no Angel or Beast, Iceman and Pyro are kids; but at least Anna Paquin does'nt get so much on-screen whining time. Plus the fight scenes are MUCH better and Storm isn't so wimpy with the use of her powers.

The film features my favorite X-Man: Nightcrawler. His powers were displayed quite well in the movie, the art direction in general is very good. Plus the DVD is filled with a bunch of Nightcrawler based extras.

Summary: good movie!!!
