Rating: Summary: BATMAN & ROBIN (1997) Review: I think Batman & Robin is a very bad sequel, the special effects are cool, the costumes are shiny and the vehicles are so cool especially the sleek, smooth batmobile that i can feel, the only problem is director Joel Schumacher didn't pay enough attention to the plot, the acting is horrible, ( especially the horrendous alicia siverstone as batgirl), although her costume is cool
Rating: Summary: Buy two of these, and call me in the morning. Review: In this forth installment of the Batman series, the Dark Knight faces his greatest challenge yet: Alfred is sick! - dying even! And if ol' Alfred goes to that big bat cave in the sky, that'll be the end of Batman. After all, isn't Alfred the true superhero here? This unassuming British gentlemen makes all the rubber suits, designs and builds all the Batmobiles, cooks all the meals, and cleans up afterwards! Yep, Al is one talented dude! But I digress...As if Alfred's mysterious terminal illness isn't enough for the big black Bat to handle, two new villains just moved into town - namely Mr. Freeze (he used to be a doctor, but apparently decided the name 'Dr. Freeze' would sound too pretentious), and a May West wannabe called Poison Ivy (it wouldda been a real short movie if Al had remembered to stock Wayne Manor with a bag of rock salt and a bottle of calamine lotion). Fortunately, the Caped Crusader has the help of two rubber-clad assistants: his whiny apprentice, Robin; and a lispy, interloping newcomer who calls herself Bat Girl. Bat Girl also calls herself 'Alfred's niece from England'. Curiously though, she lacks any trace of the expected English accent. Please folks, try to avoid using your brain while watching Batman & Robin. Technically, this "film", with its cliché-ridden dialogue and incoherent plot (did you know that condemned Turkish bath houses are the preferred secret hideout places of neon-faced street gang members?), deserves no more that one star. I have given it 4 stars because I realize that it is *intentionally* bad - so bad in fact, that it's laugh-out-loud funny! At last, we have left the gloomy world of Tim Burton behind and returned to the campiness of the '60s TV classic! True, George Clooney is one of the worst actors in cinematic history, but he has a good chin, and that's all that really matters. Alicia Silverstone isn't much of an actor either, but at least she's easy on the eyes (and how!). Uma attempts to steal the show, but fails. Arnold is the clear star here, delivering his cornball lines ("If revenge is best served cold, then put on your Sunday finest...it's time for a feast!") with delightful comic flair. Also, the vivid colors, dazzling special effects, and nifty gadgets that come out of nowhere make this movie well worth seeing, and owning - especially on DVD. Batman & Robin is, in my controversial opinion, the most enjoyable of the series. By the way, when does Batman 5 come out?
Rating: Summary: It was fair Review: I agree that the movie wasn't a oscar winner but I liked it because it was more like the old comic books. I think that was the idea to make it like a comic book.
Rating: Summary: Not bad. Not bad at all. Review: Obviously, this was not meant to be taken seriously. Really, it's more of a comedy. It is a throwback to the batman series of the sixties and this is what makes things interesting. This one has humor and the set and costumes are nice to like at. The acting was intentionally campy and the whole thing never slows down. My biggest gripe was some of the action sequences were so loud and fast, it was hard to tell what was going on. Since this was mainly towards the end, it can be forgiven. I am not going to complain about everyone else's opinion because they watched it for the wrong reasons. I've heard people say that nothing was believable but neither is the fact that a grown man puts on a rubber batsuit and drives or flys around saving a city either. If you just keep in mind that this is a FANTASY flick and that it was meant to be enjoyed, you will probably like it too. Overall good flick. Looking forward to the next Batman.
Rating: Summary: This movie isn't that bad! Review: Schumacher helps to create a Batman that resembles the 60's Batman way too much. But don't just blame Schumacher, blame the many fans who raved over Batman Forever, and blame Warner Bros. for giving him the liberty to change the Batman series so much. Why are there 3 villians??? (2 were too many, but 3 villians in one movie is just foolish.) Why is Mr Freeze spitting out horrible oneliners??? Why didn't they get Arnold Schwarzenegger to play a more intimidating villian??? Did anyone involved in making this movie see the original 'Terminator'??? Why was the Batmobile a oneseater, when he finally has a partner??? And WHY, OHHH WHY is Batgirl in this movie??? Okay, with that out of the way, this movie isn't that bad. The color and sets are flat out beautiful. The special effects are fantastic. Clooney does a fine job playing a poorly written Batman role. Keaton is my favorite Batman, but Clooney has great potential to be the best Batman yet (unfortunately, thanks to Warner Bros., he may never get another chance to prove himself). O'Donnell does an even better job playing the Boywonder this time than in Batman Forever .... and if they didn't waste valuable screentime on the 3 villians, and the introduction of Batgirl .... the conflict between Batman and Robin could have been even more interesting. Lastly, this movie has great action, it just needed a bit more karate. Batman and Robin, together again .... it could have been a lot better, but it was very enjoyable never the less.
Rating: Summary: Serious lack of direction and purpose Review: They should turn the making of any future Batman movie over to a new team of director/produers, cause the Schumacher studio have obviously run out of steam/ideas etc. Here's a great concept for free: Ressurect The Joker and have him played by Jim Carrey! He's the only actor that could portray The Joker as he's featured in the comics, but since his movie career handn't started when the first movie was made they had to choose a differnt approach and portrayal of The Joker that would suit Nicholson acting style.
Rating: Summary: bad bad pepole Review: who do they think they are ? they don't see the way i see it i think the movie is great the actors are great and so are the acttress i give theme 5 stars .
Rating: Summary: A REAL,JOKE OF A MOVIE,IF YOU ASK ME. Review: WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS MOVIE,I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE JUST AS GOOD AS "Batman Forever". BOY, WAS I DEAD WRONG,I SWEAR,WHOSE IDEA, WAS IT TO SUGGEST TO JOEL SCHUMACHER,(who i think is one of the best directors around, next to Martin Scorsese,Wes Craven,ETc. on my list of fave diectors, by the way.), and is HE OUT OF HIS MIND? THE PLOT WAS STUPID,THE ACTORS SEEM LIKE THEY CAN'T ACT THEIR WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG, & GEORGE CLOONEY REALLY SUCKS AS BATMAN. (I THOUGHT VAL KILMER MADE A GREAT & SEXY BATMAN/BRUCE WAYNE & MICHAEL KEATON MADE AVERY GOOD BATMAN/BRUCE WAYNE TOO.) THE ONLY BRIGHT SPOTS IN THIS PIECE-OF-CRAP MOVIE WERE UMA THURMAN (poison ivy), WHO I THOUGHT MADE SOMEWHAT ADECENT VILLAIN, CHRIS O'DONNELL (robin/dick grayson) WAS OK, & ALICIA SILVERSTONE (batgirl/barbara pennyworth), WAS GOOD,BUT HER BAT COSTUME. SO MY ADVICE IS RENT EITHER "Blade" (which was very good),OR "The Devil's Advocate" (awesome movie), BUT DON'T RENT OR BUY THIS MOVIE,BECAUSE ONCE YOU SEE IT , YOU'LL REGRET IT LATER.
Rating: Summary: Batman & Robin is a stupid movie with cool effects Review: I personally think that Batman & Robin had no storyline(that was interesting), no point, and no moral. It had expensive effects that were ok, but the money wasted on this movie was rediculous. I thought that it was nice that they had a girl join with the pair of heros but she was kind of corny. The freezer guy(Arnold S.) was dorky with is blue suit and blue skin with his stupid attitude. Overall, I would much rather go see Armaggedeon than watch this movie.
Rating: Summary: This movie is garbage! Review: I absolutely have no love for this film. I used to like it when it was in theaters but since it came on video I have really started to hate this film. There are several bad, in fact, very bad things about this P.O.S. Here are a few of the many bad things:1. The villians: Mr. Freeze, in the comics, does not spout ice cliches every minute. Poison Ivy is a very cool villian in the comics and cartoons but here she acts like a whore. Bane is such a waste because hes, in the comics and toons, one of the deadliest and most intelligent enemies Batman has ever faced yet, hes dumb as mud in the movie.2. The acting: It blows! Clooney is ok but "this is why superman works alone" is lame. O'Donnell is annoying as ever! In Batman Forever, he was geat but here hes just annoying. "I want a car, chicks dig the car!" LAME! Everyone else waste.3. Batgirl" Why was she in this? I've never liked Batgirl and never will. A female crimefighter is cool but Batgirl isnt a good one. Huntress is a much better female crimefighter.4. The finale: WHy did the heroes change costumes? It made sense in Batman Forever cuz Batmans suits wre destroyed but here its just plain gay.The vehicles in the end are also lame too.5. The music: Its the same from Batman Forever! Talk about lack of talent from Elliot Goldenthal. In BF his music was prtty cool but here, BLAH!This movie truly is a waste of good talent and film. Schumacher was good with Batman Forever, that had no problems and was not nearly as bright and colorful as this was, but Batman and Robin BITES!
