Summary: robocop criterion dvd review
Review: this is a terrible transfer to dvd of a great movie, there is so much snow and digital messiness and the soundtrack is even lousy. do yourself a favor and buy the regular dvd version of robocop as it boasts an excellent picture and soundtrack. stay away from this version. it has less than 60 seconds of additional footage which by todays standards are nothing really gory. the quality of the transfer is pathetic.

Summary: anyone who says this movie "S.U.X." belongs in the funnyfarm
Review: Hey, this movie rocks and i don't care what anyone says! Sure it is violent but all movies are now and the violence is necessary in the storyline. (Most of it anyway) And everyone loves Robocop's dope outfit. And who doesn't want that gun he has! Its reason enough to see this movie. And if you don't care about what Robocop looks like... see the movie anyway, cause its a great action flick!

Summary: The definitive Robcop
Review: Although the new scenes were few, they did a great deal to the movie. Robcop was a spectular movie when originally shown, but this version is even better. I recommend it.

Summary: I'd buy this for MORE than a dollar!
Review: This movie is so great!! It's one of my favorite movies. It is filled with action, violence, and a sarcastic, satirical sense of humor that i love! This movie is a classic! It was a pretty gory movie for its time, but it's got such balls. The sequel is allright (not as good) but after that, as soon as they got rid of Peter weller the movies began to suck royally. great story, great action, great jokes, great movie!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: One of Paul Verhoevens greats, second in place only to Starship Troopers. With a good mixture of action, emotion, wit, panache, and a few other odds and ends, this movie offers start to finish entertainment.

Summary: Verhoeven is awesome!!!!
Review: "Robocop". This is the ultimate action video! Director Paul Verhoeven (Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Showgirls, Starship Troopers, etc..) has done an excellent with the "superhero" theme. I t all start with a cop who get transferred to crime-filled "Old Detroit" and after a few days he is savagely killed by a gang of drug dealers. He is them transformed by the police department into a high-tech crime-fighting machine! Warning: This is an extremely violent motion picture. Available on DVD and Laserdisc in a unrated director's cut, which features footage that the MPAA though was "excessively violent", this footage was cut to avoid a X rating. MPAA Rating: R for graphic violence, drug use, some nudity and strong language.

Summary: I'd buy that for a dollar!
Review: Robocop is one of those classic Sci-Fi films, borderlining between campiness and ultra-violence, making it an interesting experience. Throw in a creative and original story, a well-rounded cast, great special effects, and you've got one hell of a movie. Robocop looks great on DVD and the director's cut for the Criterion collection adds in a couple great extra scenes of bloodletting which didn't make the final cut, so now audiences can see Robocop the way it was meant to be shown. Unfortunately I was a little dissapointed at the lack of features on this DVD, considering that it is a Criterion Collection disc. I mean, other than the director's cut, all this disc has is 2 trailers, commentary, and a couple of storyboards. Given there's nothing wrong with this, but since the disc costs so much more than most DVD's, you think they could have thrown in a couple more things, like a documentery, or behind-the-scenes footage or something. Overall though, Robocop is a great movie, and if you don't want to shell out the extra cash for this disc, you could always just get the regular version, but one thing's for sure: this movie is a must-have for any DVD collector.

Summary: Jammed Packed With Features!
Review: Holy cow. This DVD has everything. It is just loaded to the teeth with features. I will always purchase a 'Criterion Collection' DVD over any else.

Robocop..the super gruesome story I loved (before they turned the character into a kids movie in 2 sequels) is just great. Some of the violent death scenes still rock me even now. (Did they ever freak me out when it was originally released!)

Summary: Robocop: The dvd! One of the best bangs for your buck!
Review: I recently purchased this dvd and must say it is one of the best transfers of the film available. The extra features are worth the price of the disc alone. I really enjoyed hearing the commentary on why & how the film evolved from the original vision to the masterpiece it is today. The dismemberment of Alex Murphy remains one of the greatest audience shockers to this day. This title loses one star for the sole reason that there was no 5.1 audio. I know this is only a minor gripe. The soundtrack is actually transfered beautifully and is still a great one. Don't let the one star detour you from buying one of the best dvd's on the market. Bottom line: one of the best bangs for your buck.

Summary: This version is longer than the theactrical version
Review: The scenes that are longer are Mr Kenny's death, Bobby's gunshot wound to the leg, and Murphy's death.
