Summary: The Matrix has grown sparse
Review: Having recently acquired a renewed taste for the original "Matrix", I decided I'd see this one early. Well, I think they may have dropped something of the ball. The idea of machines taking over and humans needing to fight back was decent upon first presentation, but now it's become a soap opera. I am reminded of Lucas' "Star Wars" films and the new episodes and movie versions of "Star Trek", genres I've abandoned long ago. Let's see here--we have good versus evil, being fought by a leader and a mighty prince, in a high-performance vehicle. Why, that's the Rebels/the Federation versus the Empire/the Klingons, with Han Solo/Kirk transporting along with Luke/Spock in the Millenium Falcon/Enterprise. The martial arts combat is the one true joy in this film, especially if you like to see Agent Smith being decently whooped, and multiple times. If you like the characters and the struggle, then keep at it and embody the banner of almighty Zion. But as for me, I'm logging off for now, and hope to seek sentient representations in other fantasy worlds than this one. "Matrix" makes you think, but "Reloaded" makes you endure.

Summary: a dissapointment? I think not!!
Review: Twice have I seen this movie in the theaters now, and twice I came out feeling fullfilled, as well as full of anticipation for the third installment.
Let's get one thing straight: this movie should not be watched as a sequel to 'the Matrix'...in fact it is primarily a set up for what I would expect to be an explosive finale to an excellent mini series...it builds on concepts set forth in the first movie, expands on them but leaves enough for the viewer to guess about the nature of the Matrix, the future of all the characters and the war itself.

The movie starts slow...until the now infamous 'rave scene' (ridiculed and bashed by countless, but considering that the humans are gearing up for a final battle I actually believe that it is a very appropriate scene) it takes a while for the movie to get started. But once you get past that the movie takes off in a fierce rollercoaster ride that will last over an hour...once it gets going the movie is over before you know it, leaving you wanting more.

Some scenes are indeed redundant, like the fight between Neo and the Oracle's bodyguard. That fight, though a delight in choreography, felt a little out of place in the grand scheme of the entire movie.

Overall it's very enjoyable, thrilling, and I would recommend it to anyone who asks.

Summary: Real Matrix Fan Here!
Review: After I saw reloaded I came out of the theater feeling extremely depressed. Why? Wasn't it a great movie you might ask? My answer would simply be it was too good. In fact The Matrix 2 was amazing and I don't believe that we are going to see any film in near future that would even come close to what Reloaded had to offer. My expectations for an action/sci-fi film have been elevated to such a height that I will not be able to enjoy action movies as much anymore. I am very sad about it. It is like I have been just unplugged from the beautiful world of the matrix to enter the trashy, gloomy reality of life.
I am a very visual person and for people like me movies like Matrix aren't just eye candy but an expensive meal at a prestigious restaurant. The fight scenes, the car chase and other action sequences were so visually stunning that it make "Croushing Tiger, Hidden Dragon" look like a student film in comparison. And say goodbye to Jet Lee for I would rather watch Reloaded again than spend a dollar on whatever he made or will make in the future. Terminator 3, Start Wars Episode III, Lord of the Rings when will they come out? To tell you the honest truth I don't really care anymore.
So what was so great about the Matrix reloaded? As soon as it hit the theaters critics started bashing it for the lack of creativity, drama, content or just about anything else. Some said that it wasn't interesting whatsoever, and some even said that it made them fall asleep.
First, if you are a viewer that can be satisfied by a good action movie, you will probably think Reloaded is great. It is no surprise that 60 % of Reloaded audience is male. The action in this movie is so beautiful and stylish that at times I had a feeling that I was watching an adventurous ballet performance where dancers used guns and swords as their props. I could see how the story of the Matrix could be not captivating for certain audience; however, I think that the interactions between main characters was very well done. I was worried for Neo, Morpheus and Trinity when they were running away from pursing agents.
Not to ruin the movie, there are some parts that made my heart beat faster. I couldn't understand for why some could view the same parts and with indifference. Oh well, I am a big Matrix fan after all. Going to see Reloaded I was already attached to main characters and I didn't want to see any of them die. While Neo, being almost a superman is in little danger it is the fear of people around him dying is what gives Reloaded fans a feeling of excitement and uncertainty.
Perhaps the greatest drawback of Reloaded is that it ends as a cliffhanger. Real fans would have hard time waiting for the next installment. My favorite Matrix forum for example already has 40 pages posted by different users speculating about the meaning of Reloaded ending and possible happenings in Revolutions.

Summary: Matrix Reloaded is unbelievable!!!
Review: To say I was aniticipating this release is a major understatement. I went and saw it the first day it was out and was amazed to see how they improved on the first movie. I would say there really isn't alot of action in the first hour but that is all just to set up the world of Zion. The last hour and 15 minutes I would have to say may be the best action ever seen on the big screen. To try to describe the 13 minute chase scene would not due it justice. This scene is worth the cost of the ticket alone. I have already seen this movie 4 times and plan on going again this weekend. I just can't waite until Revolutions comes out. If you go see any movie this summer before this one you would be crazy! ... To any Matrix or auction movie fan this is a must see!

Summary: More like the matrix "overloaded"
Review: Don't be fooled by the exciting trailers on TV. This one isn't even close to the greatness of the first film. "Reloaded" is great whenever there is action on the screen. But be warned: When he action starts falling, expect your expectations to do the same.

All the philosophical conversations are just plain [...] and the whole "architect" scene made absolutely no sense. But if you come into this movie for the great action sequences and special effects, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Summary: An example of an Excellent Sequel
Review: In a sequel one it is espected more of everything. The MAtrix does this and more.

The story here is that Neo and the rest of the crew are still battling the evil machines. while in Zion they prepare for the inevitable final conflict. Then they get word of a way to enter into the core of the Matrix (which only NEo can DO) and discover the truth behind the Matrix. Meanwhile Agent Smith (who was supposed to be deleted after his defeat) has gone Renegade with only a grudge against Neo. WHich leaves the question of which side he is on.

The end result is that this takes place long after the first film (6 months) and to answer some questions one needs to see the Animatrix as well as play the game. But overall this is an example of a sequel done right.

Summary: Incredibly poor by comparisson...
Review: I was in a state of absolute bliss when I found out that I would be seeing the new Matrix film at 10pm the night before it officially opened. I was utterly unjustified in these feelings.

Matrix Reloaded was terribly paced and badly edited. The film felt like a run-on sentence describing something I originally wanted to know about. The action scenes were excessive and the philosophical monologues were so weak as to be nearly insulting.

What was with the Zion dance scene?

If you would like a more affordable version of the Matrix Reloaded experience, read a poorly written commentary of Baudrillard while being subjected to 2 hours and 15 minutes of expertly administered water torture.

Summary: What a shock...hardcore fans don't like Matrix 2!!
Review: ...P>First of all, let's get one thing straight: This flick is not as good as the original. Of course, anyone expecting it to be so is insane. The first film had the element of suprise and of originality. That can NEVER be reproduced in a sequel. However, putting that aside, this movie holds up pretty well on its own.

We are introduced to a number of new characters, locations, and dynamics. It's "Empire Strikes Back", so to speak. It's the darker, different middle piece of a trilogy story. The characters are now familliar with each other. Neo is exploring just how far his powers go. We are able to see and feel the human culture of Zion. In short, all the elements the first movie introduced, we now are fully saturated in.

The special effects are top notch. Fight scenes are exciting, although a bit too drawn out. I agree that some editing could have made this movie sharper and more reasonably paced. You always get a good performance out of Laurence Fishburne, and Keaneau Reeves, well....he's a nice guy I guess.

Most importantly, this movie is fun! Why people have this pretentious and overbearing need for more than that is beyond me. Films are designed to provide some escapist excitement and entertain you for 2 hours. "Matrix Reloaded" certainly delivers that. There is enough action, eye candy, and twists to keep everyone occupied. It has all the elements of a typical summer blockbuster.
