Summary: One of the better Rocky sequels
Review: I liked Rocky III better than most of the other sequels. I really enjoyed Hulk Hogan, and Mr. T's parts in the movie as well. Mr. T has always really amused me, and I thought he did a terrific job playing Clubber Lang. I would have to say that Rocky III would be in a tie with V for my favorite sequel. Of course, Rocky, the original, was by far the best out of them all, but my feeling is that Stallone still squeezed life out of most of the others. I liked the score also. Rocky III is a good movie to watch if you want to get pumped up for exercise or whatever.I wanted to point out one other thing too. The strategy used by Rocky in this film is sound. It is not usually recommended, but in cases where someone is totally outclassed it might be a good "last resort." The previous reviewer is correct. This is precisely the stragegy the Ali used against Foreman, and it worked. It was a similar type fight in many ways to the Rocky III fight. In both scenerios you have an supposedly unbeatable, very powerful, young champion defending his title against an aged, outclassed, but seasoned veteran. Also, in my personal experience I can say that this was the strategy that I employed in one of my fights, and I was very successful at it as well. Most young guys are inexperienced, and no matter how good or powerful they are, they often make the same mistake by wearing themselves out too early. A BOXING MATCH IS NOT A STREET FIGHT!!! I was in a "fight night" sort of event once, and the promoters couldn't find an opponent in my weight class, I was a light heavyweight, so they put me in with this huge heavyweight, who looked like a gorilla on steroids. The guy was much more powerful than I was, so I employed this strategy. Round one was his, by far, as I mostly used defense and covered up. Round two was even, and three was mine, with a knockout coming. If the fight would have gone on past three rounds, I would have knocked him out. No doubt.

Summary: I don't hate Balboa, I pity the fool.
Review: I'm an acknowledged Hulkamaniac, so I was going to like this film anyways. Rocky and Hogan have a great clash early on in the film. That said, the overall story, Clubber Lang (Mr.T) in vicious pursuit of Rocky's title, gives the series a fresh dynamic. What happens when the champ stops being hungry? What happens when someone else gets the drive to fight their way up to the top? Can an audience ever get tired of hearing "Eye of the Tiger"? All the answers lie in this movie. This is the last of the good Rocky Movies, and it does its formula proud.(However, do check out IV if only to see Dolph and Brigitte in their prime) I feel weird saying this, but everyone turned in a great performance (Carl Weathers Rules), and I even get a little choked up when Burges Meredith slips off to that great big gym in the sky. Geez, they still have that statue up to this day. What a country.

Summary: Eye of the Tiger!
Review: In this second sequel to the 1976's blockbuster hit "Rocky", we find Sylvester Stallone returning to his role as Rocky Balboa, the newest Boxing Heavyweight Champion of the World after his victory against Apollo Creed in "Rocky II." This movie picks up right where "Rocky II" left off with the end of Superfight II. The movie has a great story and wonderful character development as we get to know our beloved characters even more.
Now Rocky has become the champ, has gained millions, lives in a mansion with his beloved wife Adrian, his son Rocky Jr and his warmhearted trainer Mickey. Rocky has now been sucked into the world of money, cars, and fame. Rocky has defended his title ten times and after ten victories, over time Rocky slowly loses his edge in fighting which is referred to as the "Eye of the Tiger." Mickey notices that Rocky has lost this edge and tells Rocky that it happened because "The worst thing happened to you (Rocky) that can happen to any great fighter...You got CIVILIZED!"
Without this hard-core edge that Rocky once had, in walks the newest number one contender, the powerhouse brawler from the Chicago Jailhouse, Clubber Lang (Mr. T). Lang challenges Rocky for a title match and Rocky goes against Mickey's advice not to fight him because Mickey knows he won't win.
After a humiliating defeat, and the death of our beloved character Mickey, it now seems that Rocky's life is falling apart. The fame is gone, the title is gone, the glory is gone and his honor is gone. Then comes Rocky's inspiration to gain it all back: Rocky's old nemesis Apollo Creed. With Apollo, his old trainer Tony's help, and Paulie, they take Rocky back to the beginning and training back on the streets and in the filthy gym in Los Angeles where Apollo started.
With the help of Apollo, Tony and the support of Paulie and his wife Adrian, Rocky tries to make the biggest comeback in boxing history at age 34 which most boxing experts doubt he can do. Can the Itallian Stallion do it? Can he regain the title, his fame, his honor and the glory he once had?
The movie also provides an excellent soundtrack which is higlighted with Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger." For those fans of the "Rocky" movies, complete your collection of the series and buy this DVD and you will never look back.

Summary: Who thought up this boxing strategy?
Review: Let some monster pound the living hell out of you until he gets tired? Then when he's tired from beating on you, you knock him out? I tried it once it didn't work. I thought I could beat up a guy by continuously banging my face against his fist. I figured when his hand got tired, I could wear out his foot and leg by slamming my stomach against it. Never made it. The first Rocky was a classic a GREAT FLICK that deserved every award it got. He should have left it at that. This was an embarrassment.

Review: None fo the Rocky movies can even compare 2 this one. The first two were amazing and this one defied the odds! It starts with Rocky beating opponent after opponent. When a new challenger reveals himself from the shadows (Mr T.) Rocky shows he has finally gone soft. As his training routine suffers so does his manager from a sickness that is not actually revealed. On the night of the big fight the unthinkable happens and Rocky folds in 2 rounds. The movie progresses and Rocky takes on a new manager, none other then Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) himself! The movie progresses but I won't reveal the ending but the movie by far is the best Rocky ever!

Summary: What It Lacks in Depth It Makes Up in Entertainment Value
Review: Not as good as the original, but probably better than the second one, Rocky III is just palin fun. Don't expect a lot of depth here; just sit back and enjoy the entertainment. Hulk Hogan is hilarious as wrestler Thunderlips, who competes with Rocky in a boxing/wrestling match for charity. Mr T. is pretty amusing, too, as the Italian Stallion's first post-Apollo opponent. The only downside of this film is that Mickey the manager dies. He will be painfully missed in the subsequent films of this series.

Summary: An Action Packed Movie!
Review: One of the better Rocky movies I have seen. This movie featured some of the most colorful,exciting people of the time. Hulk is still a star. Rocky's battle with Hulk Hogan is a show stealer. Hulk made this movie before he became the heavyweight champion. In this movie Rocky has become too comfortable with his title and neglects training and becomes soft. He has lost his killer instinct. Rocky fights Clubber Lang feircely played by Mr. T. Clubber Lang beats Rocky like a dog. Rocky retreats to the old ways of training assisted by Apollo Creed. Rocky has a rematch with Clubber Lang and wins back the title. Once again good wins over evil. Still a good movie.

But then a new challenger amerges, Clubber Lang. Big muscles to match his mouth, Clubber destroys Rocky and becomes champion. Summary: " There is no tomorrow !! "
Review: Rocky 3, isn't a great sequel and it isn't a bad one. It's kinda like the "Lord of the Ring's", sequels. Therefore you can't compare it to the previous two films. Realistically , you'd be better off , viewing it, as a continuation. In part 3 , Rocky has risen to the staus of the heavyweight champion , by beating Apollo Creed.Unfortunately , he falls victim to the spoils of success and , hence , loses the driving force that got him there in the first place. He soon is doing things for charity , like wrestling Hulk Hogan, aka:Thunder Lips. Unbenounced , to Rocky, an up and coming contender is in the crowd and sizing up the Italion Stallion. This challenger ,named Clubber Lang, is wild eyed , muscle bound , and has that one ingredient that Rocky's seem to have lost since Rocky 2......the hunger. Or as the leading song calls it..the eye of the tiger. Eventually, finding an opening to challenge our retiring champ, Clubber issues his challenge at Rocky's Retirement conference. Ironically , in front of the library , that we see in all the films. You know ? The one with the statue. And we can't have that can we ? !! And we can't have a mohawed-chizzled Mr. T , coming on to Adrian right ? Well , neither can our Mr. Balboa. So, with the stage set..... Rocky wants too fight ( one last time ) , Micky doesn't want him to , Pauly doesn't care, as long as he gets to ride the coat tails , and Adrian...oops. I think I've said enough. Just in case you haven't seen this one. Therefore, I won't reveal what happens. But I will say that the setup was good enough for me to pay to see Rocky 3 at the theatre and I'm getting it 12 years later , on dvd. No extras or commentary , but I don't need any. These Rocky films , speak for themselves. This one in particuliar , is special , though. It makes it's changes in characters interesting and gives person one a spirit, if you know what I mean. Which , I think was very clever and the only real way to keep the Rocky franchise fresh and reliable to draw in the box office crowd ( you and I ).
