Summary: Quit your whining
Review: If you can't wait for a widescreen/special edition version, than stop complaining when you end up with a full screen version. Production companies may very well be trying to get more money off of people buy releasing different versions. But all you need to do is WAIT for the version you really want. It's not like whining will change the mind of a corporate exec...Oh and The Temple of Doom was re-rated PG because the rating system is based on what is acceptable by todays standards, sadly these standards are lower than they were 20 years ago. And here's something you missed, in The Last Crusade, the name of the zepplin, Hindenburg, was removed.

Summary: Goose Slapping Morons Like Yourselves
Review: I love Indiana Jones. raiders of the lost Ark is of course the best, Temple of Doom is great (How could you not like a movie called "the Temple of Doom"?), but Last Crusade leaves something to be desired. My biggest complaint and something that bothers me is: Why is there a need to inject slapstick type humor into trilogies and sequels? Why does Marcus "get lost in his own museum?" and fall off his horse? He was wise and scholarly in Raiders. Even Sallah comes off as somewhat of a goon. Not to mention Indiana Jones Sr. The movie is great, I love it, I'll watch it any day of the week. I love the grail challenge at the end. it took me years to understand that the knight was really supposed to be 500-600 years old. These are my complaints, but otherwise, this is a fantastic movie, that I would recommend to all, but of the three, it is the weakest.

Summary: The Set We've Been Waiting For . . .
Review: The Indiana Jones Trilogy on DVD marks the epitome of what DVD releases should be. Without touching the original stories or effects in anyway, this set cleans the picture quality and sound to an amazing new level and presents them to the veiwer in the way they are meant to be seen. These timeless adventures have been one of the most anticipated sets to come to DVD, along with the original Star Wars Trilogy and the Godfather Trilogy, and, unlike Wars, Lucas has thankfully left this masterpiece untouched. With wonderful extras on the making of each film, along with documentaries on the effects, stunts, and interviews with the cast and crew, the audience could not have asked for more. This anticipated Trilogy was definitely worth the wait.

Summary: Good Set of DVD's but.............
Review: Just received my copy yesterday. Watched Raider Of the Lost Ark & the Temple of Doom. Both are very good. But when i put in the Bonus Disc, man it was bad. I didnt watch anything except for the trailers. You should see The Temple of Doom trailer. they dubbed OMRESH PURI (as Mola Ram) voice in the trailer. Thank God they didnt do that in the movie otherwise I wouldnt have returned this to Amazon but to Paramount itself for insulting such a good Indian Actor for dubbing his voice with the voice of another.

The frame transfer was good for Raiders and The temple of Doom, even though both movies are quite old. As far as Last Crusade is concerned, the frame transfer is also good like the other except where there is a focusing problem in a scene where Indiana is with his dad and Sallah ( the GIMLI of LOTR, forgot his name).

The main problem of these discs is the InterActual DVD ROM features. I cannot seem to access the exclusive features of Indianajones.com. That's funny. I seemed to do that with LOTR FOTR and TTT 4 disc edits. I think Paramount should fix this problem as their normal site and exclusive site are interwoven and thus their server is not able to recognize my discs, giving me a DVD ERROR. The LOTR ppl made a special exclusive site which normal users cannot access. If any of the customers came accross and fix this problem, please share it in your review.

Secondly, the special features of the trilogy are not that good. They should have placed the Emperor's Tomb PC demo in the DVD ROM. That would have been nice. There are no commentary track in all the movies. They sacrificed it for the good quality of the trilogy. To be frank they sacrificed alot of good features just to keep up with the good quality. I think Paramount owes us another Bonus Disc.

Summary: your ticket to great movies
Review: Reading other reviews, you know there is one disk of extras. They are good extras. There are no commentaries. I don't think every movie has to have oodles of extra disks, so I am OK with this.
You buy this set for the movies. Excellent sound and video accompanies three great movies. I think each is as good as the other.
In the "Our Customers' Advice" section, 3 people recommended getting the Full Screen version instead Widescreen. Well, I suppose if you have a really small set, maybe. Otherwise forget it. You will lose 40% of the movie. And when you get a widescreen set someday, you'll really be kicking yourself.
By the way, my favorite line from any movie is "no ticket!", from "Last Crusade".

Summary: see it
Review: if ur a fan of the series than this is a no brainer. it has a lot of extra stuff in there for die hard fans. this is a strong series of movies that has stood the test of time. own this dvd

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: No Commentaries, No Deleted Scenes
Review: The '"special" fourth disc is meant to make up for a lack of special features overall spanning the three movies. With 15 years since the last movie and just about as long since the advent of the DVDin general , this presentation seems like a half-hearted rush to the market with no real pride taken in making the DVD an experience.

Noticeabley absent: not one commentary from directors or actors for any of the movies. No collections of deleted scenes from the cutting room floor.

The fourth disc has some token featurettes for each movie, but it's nothing special.

Compare this with the huge amounts of bonus features on any of the Lord Of The Rings DVD's (even the two-disc editions contain more than this Indy set) and it shows that all they cared about was putting them out and being done with it. I expected more.

I'm glad they're on DVD now (we waited long enough) but this presentation is mediocre. Hopefully the Star Wars trilogy on DVD (due out this September and also from Lucasfilm) won't be as disappointing.

Summary: Great to the last drop.
Review: Hands down the best action series ever made, and a even better DVD collection. One of the few movie series that had every movie in it be as good as the other than come before.

Do not call yourself a fan of the DVD format if you don't own it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Four stars for the movies, but not the DVD features....
Review: I don't know what it is about this and the Back to the Future DVD boxed set. The movies on the disks are well done. They have been restored and remastered for both great picture and sound quality. The only way to see these movies is in widescreen, the way movies were ment to be seen. (Forget Full Screen versions, that belongs on TV showings of these films). But the bonus features, sorry but they are long and not really that informative, like the BTTF bonus features that look to have been very poorly put together, the same holds true here. How come 20th Century Fox and Universal do great DVDs, but Paramount always seems to not bother to do them right? Thanks for nothing, Viacom.

Summary: Nobody beats Harrison Ford
Review: Indiana Jones has become a classic character in American cinema and I think his movies will be watched by generations. The ONLY reason I rated this set at 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the Temple of Doom movie. That movie was totally gross and I hated it; but I have watched the other two movies multiple times and I never tire of seeing them. I only wish we could buy the the DVDs separately and not as a set.
