Summary: Some of the best of all time
Review: The Indiana Jones movies are three of the greatest of all time. They were made by two of the greatest movie story tellers of all time with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. They tell the adventures of Indiana Jones, an archealogist and adventurer.The movies are perfect movies. They have storyline, humor, action, and romance. All the movies have perfect casting and acting. All characters are developed well and aren't pointless. The movie also has one of the greatest musical scores to it. You have to tip your hat to John Williams. Harrison Ford is perfect. He should have some academy consideration for his role as Dr. Jones. Between Indiana and Han Solo, Harrison has made himself one of the greatest action heros of all time. He just does everything well in the movie. Words don't give Ford enough credit. You just have to sit back and admire. The movie has some of the greatest chase scenes in movie history. You got to love the car chase in Raiders in which Indiana takes out a whole truck load of Nazi troopers and gets the truck and makes the getaway. In Temple of Doom theres the mine chase. You will never look at mine carts again. You also got to love in Crusade the boat chase, plane fight, and motorcycle chase. Sean Connery is awesome in Crusade.He plays Indiana Jones's dad well. He really shows a comedic side to himself. This movie made me a Connery fan when I saw it in theater at age 4. I promise you will like this movie. We have all three and have worn all three VHS tapes out because of the amount of times they have been viewed. If your going to own one set of movies, make it the Indiana Jones trilogy. You won't regret it.

Summary: Good, yet shameless
Review: Like many others, I have waited for the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark on DVD. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. However, Universal, copying what they did with Back to the Future has made this available only if you buy ALL THREE MOVIES!!! I'm sorry, but this is wrong. I know several others who feel the same way. I never liked the two sequels to either movie, but in order to get them, I have to buy the whole set!! Why the hell can't they sell these individually? I already know the answer. Because the majority of people would buy the first movie only. I know there are a lot of people who disagree and will buy the trilogy, and I wish you a lot of enjoyment. But for those of us who only want one movie, we should have that option as well. I give the box set four stars, only because the first Raiders was so good. To hell with the sequels.

Summary: The best adventure series...
Review: These movies are simply terrific. Harrison Ford plays one of the most memorable film icons of all time as Indiana Jones. Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by George Lucas, these movies define the adventure genre. Each one finds Indy up against one death-defying scenario after another. He always ends up getting himself into way too much trouble, only to pull of some heroic stunt to save himself, and often his friends. Raiders Of The Lost Ark is probably the most popular of the films. As Indy's first outing, it is really exceptional. It opens with Indy breaking into a tomb searching for the hidden artifact. Indy quickly finds himself in a series of deathtraps, leading up to the classic "boulder" sequence. Things don't slow down there, as the film travels all around the world with Indy searching for the ark. Harrison Ford is superb in this film. Also notable is the villain, Belloq. He's extremely mean, and you can't wait to see something really bad happen to him. The second film, Temple Of Doom, is usually the lowest rated. It's still a great adventure film. The only real downfall is the presence of Kate Capshaw as Indy's latest love interest. She is more annoying then she is funny. After her first few scenes, you'll be completely annoyed with her. The rest of the film is very good. One of the final action scenes is a roller coaster ride on mining cars that is among the most intense action scenes in the series. The Last Crusade is the final film in the series. It introduces the character of Indy's father (wonderfully portrayed by Sean Connery). Overall, it's probably the least memorable to me, but it still has some wonderful scenes. The opening flashback scene (with River Phoenix as Indy) is really fun, and it cleverly explains Indy's fear of snakes. Overall, this series is exceptional. Each movie represents a landmark in the adventure film genre. If you already know the films, then you probably have already decided to buy this DVD release. If you haven't seen them yet, the new release is the perfect way to be introduced to the series.

Summary: The best trilogy bar none!
Review: I have been reading the reviews for the Indiana Jones series and so many reviewers have discounted the second movie "Temple of Doom" as not being of the same calibar as the first and last movie...and they are wrong. ToD is actually my favorite of the Indy movies...mainly because the chemistry between Kate Capshaw and Harrison Ford was more believable to me than the chemistry between him and Karen Allen...though I loved the first movie. I think what made me love the movie is that it combined action, adventure, scary moments, humor and romance perfectly to my liking! I'm not saying it was a perfect movie...but it did the job it was supposed to do for me. That scene of them in the rail cart was just awesome...one of the best chase scenes ever! I'm not a die-hard ToD fan...but I took the movie for what it was...escapism. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is a throwback to the old serials...and it was acted, written and directed perfectly...as I said earlier...I wasn't that impressed with the romance between Indy and Marion...but I did think they worked well together. "Temple of Doom" is my kind of movie...it is dark, funny, fast and furious. I loved that Indy was rescuing little children instead of just an artifact for a museum. Short Round was kinda irritating...but I loved Willie...and all the disgusting bugs and creepy things...it was Fear Factor before its time! "The Last Crusade" was the least satisfying for me...maybe because it depended too much on the humor and not the action...though I just loved Sean Connery as Indy's father...and I can never get tired of that scene with them tied to the chair. I really love how Mr. Connery never changes his accent to fit a movie...he rocks! I also loved the streotypical bad guys in all three movies. All in all...all three movies work because of Harrison Ford...without him...I think they would've stopped at one movie! I can't wait til the set is delivered to me!

Summary: Great action, Great Laughs
Review: I have always loved the Indiana Jones series. I have loved The Last Crusade more than the rest. Sean does a great job as Indy's Father. It's about time they got this on DVD, and best of all new stuff added to make it even a better reason to buy it. There is no doubt about it. The Indiana Jones tops all the rest. I have been a Indiana Jones fan since I was about five or six. This is the most best films the Harrison Ford has ever made, and there's no subsitute. I can't wait to get this on DVD. One of the best parts of the pack is where on Raiders where he see's this sword fighter, and Indy doesn't waste time killing him, he gets out his gun and shoots him, that was funny, even when on Temple of doom where he and Short-Round play card's and Willie is being messed around with the animals, and Indy say's: "The biggest problem with her is the noise." All three rock. There is no topping these.

Review: This does indeed remain one of the VERY best adventure stories ever to hit the screen - and the fact that we can now watch all our three old favourites in DVD is even better. For it is not just Harrison who is superb in all three, but also my very favourite Welsh actor - how many recognise John Rhys Davies in these movies and realise that he is also Gimli in Lord of the Rings? Review: Raiders of the Lost Ark is about as close to perfect as any action/ adventure movie could ever get. The only thing that doesn't hold up as well after 22 years is, surprisingly enough, the special effects! Lucas and Spielberg were at the top of their game when they made this one. Just by itself, Raiders of the Lost Ark in widesreen is worth the price of the set. Oh by the way, The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade are also very good, even though the former is proof that directors should not be allowed to put their girlfriends in movies. The latter seemed to be almost a spoof of Raiders. The plot: Archaeologist Indiana Jones travels the world in search of ancient artifacts. His methods are suspect and so are his motives. He seems more interested in "fortune and glory" (and beating his rival, Belloq) than advancing man's knowledge of the past. In Raiders, he is sent by Army Intelligence to recover the Ark of the Covenant -by snatching it out from under the noses of a German team digging in Egypt. Jones and his friends end up going through one scrape after another to pull it off. There are so many memorable action scenes that you'll start humming "DUM-DEE-DUMMMMMM/ DUM-DEE-DUH-DA-DAAAAAAA" for hours after the movie is over. Action/ adventure/ fantasy movies that have come since can't hold a candle to Raiders of the Lost Ark. For all the hype about Lord of the Rings, anyone watching Raiders and either LoTR movie will come to same conclusion I have: While both series feature heroes who are trying to keep a magical Maguffin out of the grasp of the villains, there is more movie magic, more thrills, chills, action, romance and interesting characters in one hour and forty-five minutes of Raiders of the Lost Ark than there are in almost eight hours (and counting) of Lord of the Rings. Raiders shows what truly great filmmakers can do when given a free hand. I can't wait for the DVD!

Review: These are great movies and although the last crusade is probably 3 stars at best, this looks like an awesome package for the price!!!!! Now if Lucas can just get Star Wars on DVD all will be right in the world!!!

Summary: It's no accident - you must buy Temple of Doom
Review: The first and last Indy movies were outstanding, but Temple of Doom was awful. Though it has some fans (so does Ishtar, I'm sure), the primary reason these movies are not sold separately is to require us all to purchase Temple of Doom if we want the other two. Even avid ToD fans have to admit that sales of that movie would be far below the other two. Still, the trilogy is well worth it, and I suppose Lucas' implicit admission that ToD wouldn't sell well solo is a welcome one.
