Summary: terrible idea
Review: Great, so Raiders is finally released on DVD, but forcibly packaged with its inferior brothers Temple and Crusade. Fantastic.
It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to purchasing Raiders, one of my all time favorites. Sadly I'm not nearly stupid enough to pay $... and patronize a set of DVDs when the whole idea makes me sick. First it was Back to the Future (I only wanted the first one then, too) and now this.
What worries me is that the James Bond DVD sets 2 and 3 are coming out soon, and I don't think they're going to get broken up, either -- which is a shame because I already own about half from each set. When did DVD producers get this completely rotten idea? And what jerk told them it was good?

Summary: The greatest movie series there is.
Review: Raiders of the Lost Ark-The one to start it all, there's no experience quite like watching this film for the very first time. This movie's got it all: exotic and mysterious settings, close calls, elaborate booby traps, shootouts, fistfights, chases, and that joyous sense of awe and discovery. The movie's standout sequence is the famous desert chase, with Indy hanging off the side of the side, in front of, below, and behind a Nazi truck! With all the fantastic action and stunts, it's even more amazing that what makes Raiders stand out is Harrison Ford's perfect performance. John Williams' rousing score makes the already thrilling action scenes even more exciting.
*****/*****Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom-The first of the Indy sequels has caught an undeserved rep. Much like say, The Matrix Reloaded, the consensus is that this is a good, solid sequel, but good is disappointing when compared to the ground-breaking original. But I'm afraid I can't agree. Even though Temple of Doom boasts a slightly less solid plot than Raiders of the Lost Ark, this is an even faster-paced, equally wonderful movie experience. Harrison Ford matches his first performance with a touch more humor and he's got a great sidekick in Short Round (Ke Huy Quan), a young Chinese kid who holds his own next to Indy. John Williams' score is somehow even better and the action setpieces are eye-poppingly spectacular. Not only are there the "usual" shootouts and fistfights, Jones is also trapped in a mid-air freighter with no fuel, goes through a literal rollercoaster ride on a mine cart, and literally hangs off a cliff with hungry alligators below! The last half-hour is just non-stop excitement, the greatest extended action sequence in cinematic history.
*****/***** Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade-My personal favorite of the series, Indy's quest for the Holy Grail is the most fun one can have watching a movie. Except for the climactic tank chase, none of the action here really surpases what was accomplished in Temple of Doom in terms of sheer thrills (though a motorcycle chase and zeppelin battle come close), but that's okay. The point of The Last Crusade is that it intends to be a more mature and character-oriented addition to the trilogy. The addition of Sean Connery was a brilliant movie; he makes a wonderful dramatic and comedic duo with Harrison Ford. Ford, in particular, delivers the best and most difficult performance of his career. Difficult, you say, but he's just reprising a role he's played twice before, right? True, but this time he has to craft Jones as a character with his own flaws and demons (exemplified by his strained relationship with his father) while still maintaining the larger-than-life action heroics. He pulls it off with flying colors.
*****/***** Directed by Steven Spielberg, the trilogy remains the greatest example of Hollywood movie magic, proving the filmmaker's talents for recreating the sense of joy that we all thought we could only feel as children. Nice to see there's someone out there who knows how to make us feel like kids again.

Summary: Stop this nonsence over Temple of Doom.
Review: Ok this is the problem; all of you would love to have Raiders of the Lost Ark, alot of you The Last Crusade, and practicaly none of you, Temple of Doom. Now look at the price of this set,
... YOU CANT EVEN BUY TWO DVD's FOR THAT! Plus you are getting a 200+ minuite bonus feature dvd, and I know you dont want to sacrifice all those extra's. Lets see, thats four dvd's for the price of less than two. Now for the first part (at least in my oppinion) Temple of Doom is not that horrible of a film anyway, but if you just cant bear to have it, simply get rid of it. There are a thousand things you can do to wipe your hands clean of this burden. Ever heard of Ebay? Hey I think Electronic Butiqe (I think I spelled that wrong) will PAY you for your unwanted DVD's. If your lazy and dont want to go through the trouble of selling it, simply give it away ( hey I'l take it) or just stick it in the trash. One more thing -- dont give the fullscreen version 1 star! Now I prefer widescreen over fullscreen just as much as the next intelligent person, BUT, Amazon does not distinguish between the two versions. In short you are hurting the overall rating of the widescreen version as well by giving the latter a low score. So keep what I said in mind, stop complaining, and order the movies Remember, "All I know for certian, is that I know nothing at all".

Summary: The Best Trilogy Ever!!!!!!!
Review: This is a great set of movies,that everyone should own. Harrison Ford is great,and there is no movies better than these. The "Last Crusade" is my favorite, then "Radiers of the Lost Ark", then "Temple of Doom". But they are all fantastic movies, and would recomend them to anybody who loves action. I have all the tapes, but these DVD's are too good to pass up. I've had my copy reseved for about three weeks now, and I can't wait. By the way I loved Sean Connery in "The Last Crusade", he was great.

Summary: Is Anyone Concerned About the Quality?
Review: Paramount is not exactly known for the quality of their DVDs. The best example is The Godfather triology. Paramout slapped this movie (series) on a disc and sold it. The quality is miserable. If you'd like further evidence, please read the negative reviews on The Godfather page of Amazon.com The Indiana Jones triology is wonderful - I just hope Paramount's work is half as good.

Summary: I have VERY fond memories of these movies
Review: I completely love the entire trilogy of Indiana Jones movies. Indy was in classic form for all three of the movies, and it's good to see Spielburg finally came to his senses and decided to give us what we want. (Now if only Lucas will do the same with SW IV-VI.) It is refreshing to see a flawed hero in an epic battle of Good vs Evil.

Review: why ANYONE would want to buy a full screen version of these films is completly beyond me as you will end up missing most of the image shot and end up with incoherent understanding of the story as a result shame on you lucasfilm for this marketing decision..im buying the widescreen INTACT versions on dvd so i can see the complete picture as was shown in the cinema,, ive attempted to watch these films in fullscreen on tv in the past and have given up as SO MUCH is lost , sure in widescreen you have to put up with those black bars but at least you can see what the characters are doing !!! WIDESCREEN shows MORE not LESS people this is one case where youre going to miss out on alot if you buy this set

Review: If you want to see some great action movies that the whole family can sit around and watch together, this is it. You will find lots of action and excitment in these movies. Along with some good laughs. So if your ready for an adventure, sit back, relax and put in and Indian Jones movie. Once you have seen one of them you'll want more.

Summary: The BEST action/adventure film franchise ever made!
Review: I have been a long time fan of this incredible series for many years now and I never get tired of it. Indiana Jones is one of the BEST heroes to ever hit the big screen next to Luke Skywalker and James Bond!! George Lucas & Steven Speilberg worked together in order to create the ultimate adventure and thus, the Indiana Jones trilogy was born. All three films were made in the 80s, each one with an all-new story and adventure different than that from the last and include "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" (1981), "The Temple Of Doom" (1984), & finally, "The Last Crusade" (1989). All movies are VERY intense and highly action-packed delivering enough thrills and excitement that ANY viewer could want! Here's a short description of each one: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK **** (4 stars) The first that started it all! Indiana Jones's adventure begins where the Nazis plan to steal the legendary Ark (a biblical relic) that holds an unbelievable array of powers and magic beyond anyone's wildest dreams! Can Indiana stop them before in the nick of time? This one was good but not as good as the second installment which is: THE TEMPLE OF DOOM ***** (5-stars) My favorite in the ENTIRE trilogy! This is also supposed to be a prequel to the last film and concerns Indiana and his friends who end up in India after their plane crashes. They end up face to face with a horrifying underground organization of cultists who have kidnapped the people's children to work for them! Indiana & friends are eventually caught too, where a deadly set of freaky devices, torture and mayhem awaits! Now, the only way out is to escape! (Watch out for that mine-cart chase scene!) In my opinion, this is way, WAAAAAY better than 'Raiders'. THE LAST CRUSADE ***(3-stars) This one continues where 'Raiders' last left off. Definately not the best in the series and a bit weak at times but still pretty good! This time, Indiana follows the big bad Nazis to the Holy Grail, which is said to give the one who drinks from it, IMMORTALITY! Although interesting, this one cannot hold a candle next to the first two Indy movies! Sean Connery also makes a guest appearance in this one as Indiana's (or in his case, "Junior's") father. He's a little annoying at times but still moves the story quite well. AND THAT WRAPS IT UP!!! The BONUS MATERIAL disk will probably have such features like deleted scenes, cast interviews, and maybe even a behind-the-scenes look for all three films. This collection is pure GOLD and is sure to entertain millions for a new generation! Whether you've been a fan or you have not yet had a chance to experience this thrilling advbenture, this is a MUST OWN!!! I hope that they have a collection alot like this someday with all the complete 'Star Wars' trilogy on DVD! For now, this is the best yet!! ^_^ "I HATE SNAKES!" -Indy
