Review: At last--The Indiana Jones series comes to DVD with THX surround sound & enhanced visuals. John Williams' music soars throughout the trilogy.Raiders of the Lost Ark---No doubt the best of the three. Indy must find the Ark of the Covenant. Temple of Doom: Indy must find 3 sacred stones and escape a deadly cult. 1st movie in history to get a PG-13 rating. Scary stuff...but good. Last Crusade: Indy & his dad (Sean Connery) must find the Holy Grail.

Review: The Indiana Jones movies are some of the greatest action/adventure movies ever!! Enought about the movies because everyone knows how great they are, lets talk about the awesome dvd set. All 3 of these movies have been restored frame by frame and it definetly shows! These films look and sound like they have been made in the last 5 years. The extras on the bonus disc is great. A very well made 2 hour documentary dealing with how they made the films as well as several featurettes dealing with the stunts, sound, music and so on. One word of warning, make sure to get the widescreen edition because fullscreen sucks!!!

Review: It's no secret that many people have been anxiously awaiting the DVD release of the "Indiana Jones" movies. Well, they're finally here! Most of the reviews you'll read praise the sound and picture presentation, along with the quality (if not the quantity) of the Bonus Materials. But what about the first thing you see; what about the packaging? Overall, this is a nice-looking set. Four traditional snap-cases (one per disc) fit snugly into a well-designed, embossed slip-case. Different color-schemes clearly indicate whether your set is widescreen or fullscreen, and the spine allows you the choice of filing this set in the "A" (for "Adventures of...") or "I" (for "Indiana Jones") section of your DVD shelf. A number of people have bemoaned the fact that the first film in the series has been re-named "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark," but this is solely on the printed material--the title of the film itself remains unchanged. For a DVD collector, however, the packaging could have been a little more unique. The whole set unnecessarily takes up a lot of shelf-space; since all four movies are only available together (at this point), I would have preferred a packaging system which cut the thickness in half. "The Fellowship of the Ring" is also four discs, but only takes up the space of two DVDs on my shelf. Slim-line snap-cases (like "Futurama") would also have been a neat way to keep the set more space-economical, especially considering the single-sheet liner notes that reside in the cases (they wouldn't need to worry about accommodating a booklet). I'm also a bit disappointed with the graphics they chose to represent the set. The cover of the slip-case shows the same image of Indiana Jones that's on the cover of the "Raiders" disc. Since there is no poster-gallery in the Bonus Material, this would have been a nice opportunity to show both of the late Richard Amsel's illustrations for the two versions of the "Raiders" movie poster. Drew Struzan's famous illustrations grace the covers of "Temple of Doom" and "Last Crusade," but all the images have been re-worked to fit the template of the new package design (there is also a different version of a "Temple of Doom" poster that is nowhere to be found in this set: Indy holding a machete, standing in front of a pillar). On the "plus" side, we do get a nice, new Struzan rendering for the Bonus Disc, and the very back of the slip-case features an altered image from the "Last Crusade" teaser poster. I can't exactly say I'm unhappy--they did a nice job with this set, I just wish it had been a little more...archival.

Review: There have been several one star reviews here claiming a variety of falsehoods about the "Indiana Jones" DVDs, including ridiculous exxagerations and downright falsehoods. (1 - "Missing Scene") This reviewer claimed that an entire scene was missing from "Raiders of the Lost Ark", that being the scene in which Indy finds out that Miriam was not killed. This is completely false and I can offer no other refutation than to state that I just viewed it with my own eyes. This reviewer also chose to accuse the producers of this DVD of intentionally leaving out the scene so they can sell a "special" edition later. (2 - "No full screen") One reviewer claimed that the "Indiana Jones" series is not available in full screen. It is, unlesss I am hallucinating the dozens of copies I saw at a local store or the listing for it right here on Amazon.com. Please do some simple research before you write a one star review falsely claiming this. (3 - "Not enhanced for 16x9") One reviewer claimed that since it is supposed to be enhanced for 16x9 televisions that there should be no black bars on widescreen TVs. Nonsense! The "Jones" movies were filmed in 2.35:1, which means that the film is wider than a film that would completely fill up a 16x9 TV. Therefore, there are black bars on the top of bottom of your widescreen TV. (4 - "Little extras") This is absurd. A two hour documentary (divided into three parts, one for each movie), four bonus featurettes and 8 trailers is a small amount of extras? Ridiculous. A commentary would have been nice but after watching the documentaries I think they pretty much covered most everything. My only problem is the lack of deleted scenes. People have come to expect so much extras from DVDs but the reality is that most so-called "special features" on DVDs are uninteresting garbage added to beef up its' "resume".

Summary: I love Temple of Doom
Review: Come on guys, this movie is as good as the first one, only that works on a very different level, This movie is pure fun, joy and violence from the begining to the end. And the temple of doom is the closest thing to hell that I ever Seen, the music is fantastic, the images are scary, Its a rollecoster of action, and Kate Capshaw did a great job, forget about Marion, If Indiana Jones was searching for a wife, you know to spend the last days of his life, Willy will be the first one on the list. Temple of Doom: Fun and adventures to his maximun expresion
Last Crusade: It's more like a remake of the first one (Dont be mad at me, you know it's true) but it's ok I guess people who hates Temple of Doom are the same that loves The mummy and Tomb raider series, So Sad.

Summary: A DVD/Home Theater fan
Review: I just watched the 1st movie last night. The picture quality is outstanding on my Mitsubishi 55" Widescreen. In fact, it compares in quality to the Hi Definition signals I receive from both Comcast and my own arial. It is impressive, and if you disagree, you must not have a very good set-up. As far as the widescreen issue, just get a dvd player that you can "zoom" in on the picture. The black bars disappear, and you loose very little picture. The sound is also excellent. Both across the front screen, as well as seperation in the surround sounds, and LFE. The musical score is popping! What is wrong with the guy that said it was muffled. Get some decent speakers. ps. I am a fan, not a promoter. Just tired of reading bad reviews on quality products, such as this set.

Review: Let's see.....we wait years for Indy on DVD and then people cut it up and whine like a bunch of babies...."where's the extra's....no commentary....blah....blah...blah...."...you all need to find a interest in something else besides watching sensless extra garbabge they include on DVD's....most of it is just boring crap to be quite honest.....sit back and enjoy Indy on DVD and shut the **** up!!

Review: Man, I regret buying the wide screen version of this set. The video is dull, flat and way too dark. That in combination with the wide aspect ratio on my 27" monitor makes this instant garage sale material.

Review: how come a lot of these reviews sound like a bunch of marketing hype, huh? i haven't bought the set cause it hasn't come out in Germany yet, and I'm reading the reviews to see what other people think of it. but so far it seems like indi fans agree its a must have, regardless of the lack of extra features and wide screen format.
and then there are others who write reviews like they've been paid for it.
i want to read real reviews - and if i get mine, i'll put my two cents in too! so amazon, what's going on with the reviews eh?
