Rating: Summary: A True American Hero Review: Rocky Balboa is at it again. This time avenging the death of his trainer and friend, Apollo Creed. Rocky travels to Siberia for rigorous training in this inspiring film. Rocky is again the underdog to a Russian boxing monster! He is not supposed to come out of this fight alive. But as he has done so well before, he shows the world that it can be done. Stallone did a pretty good job in this one. The first two movies are better than this one because, realistically if someone could actually punch the way Ivan Drago did, it would literally knock his opponents' head off of his neck. Still a great movie!
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Film In The Rocky Tilogy Review: This film has everything Drama,Action, and determination. Rocky goes to Russia to fight Ivan Drago to avenge his friend Appollo Creed. Everyone in this movie deserves an academy award.
Rating: Summary: Very much worth your time Review: What can I say, Stallone does it again. This movie was by far the best out of the five Rockies. It has emotion, tragedy, and perseverence. The fight scenes where magnificent. The training scenes were also very awesome and the music to the film was a good complement.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES! Review: This is my favorite out of the Rocky movies. I would give this movie SIX STARS if I could! I have seen this movie over and over and over again... maybe a couple dozen times.. at least. This movie was soooooo awesome. It is one of those few movies that you can see over and over again without getting tired of it. A true classic. I liked this the best because I felt the most inspiration out of this film. I felt a lot of inspiration and emotion for Rocky to beat the heck out of Drago. In addition, unlike the original Rocky, this movie was fast-moving and there were not dull points. The story kept building as time went on which resulted in my getting riveted throughout this movie. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK TO THIS MOVIE!! This is probably my favorite movie soundtrack ever. I really adore "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor and "Heart's on Fire." The combination of the awesome soundtrack cues along with Rocky's training and fight scenes just made those moments even more emotional. I really sided with Rocky and "felt like I was him" training for the final fight with Drago. As for the final fight with Drago.. WOW!!! My favorite fight scene out of the 5 movies! It was without a doubt the best fight! I still feel inspired whenever I watch this fight... I love the combination of an awesome soundtrack along with the awesome, bloody, and emotional fight to go to the finish. I LOVED this movie. It REALLY shows how perseverant Rocky is. Even more so than any of the other 4 Rocky movies, this movie helped congeal in my mind the idea of never giving up and achieving your goals. Throughout the series Rocky was an underdog and learned to overcome all the odds against him. "Rocky 4" is VERY CLOSE to being my favorite movie ever. It is JUST barely by an electron below "Return of the Jedi." "Rocky 4" was just sheer excellence. Spectacular!
Rating: Summary: Nyet, nyet! Review: The formula was pretty threadbare by the time "Rocky III" came around, and this one just beats it into the ground. Trite and contrived all the way, "Rocky IV" will TKO the viewer with sheer boredom. Its only saving grace is that it's not as bad as "Rocky V", but that's not saying much.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: The Rocky set of movies are the best movies ever created. The movies are inspirational and moving. Any one who thinks Rocky suckes has no taste in good films.
Rating: Summary: The soundtrack is nothing short of astounding!!! Review: The best movie music soundtrack ever!!! Nothing short of astounding! The video soundtrack (especially the song 'Hearts on Fire') is much more complete than the soundtrack on CD. The movie direction perfectly blends with the music. Star quality! I am waiting for DVD release.
Rating: Summary: Good Fights . . . But Not Much Else Review: Sly challenges Commi Lungdren who killed Apollo in an exehibition bout. Sly seems to have completely given up on plot and just make up a simple set up for Rocky to kick butt, and while that is entertaining it's hardly a movie, more like a scripted boxing match with some soap operaesque, cliched "Rocky" melodramatics thrown in to fill the gaps. (Also this one delivers the first of the series' contradictions--part V really loads'em on--but its not like it really matters anyway.) Bottom line: action fans WILL enjoy this, but REAL fans of the series will be highly dissapointed. Trivia: There was a spoof of this titled "Rocky VI" in which Rocky is defeated by a midget boxer Igor, made by a Russian director who said he dedicates this to Slyvester Stallone " Wish I could get my hands on that.
Rating: Summary: strong and powerful Review: If you've read the other 3 books of rocky balboa, you got to read this one. The boxers are killing each other on the ring. It's more suspenseful then any boxing book...EVER! END
Rating: Summary: The second best Rocky movie!!! Review: After the first installment, this one was the one that I enjoyed the most. Dolph Lundgren gives a terrific performance as Ivan Drago, the Russian man of steel. Stallone is at his best, as he always was with the 'Rocky's and Rambo's. A good all-round performance, great movie!
