Summary: The New... and The Old
Review: Ep. 1 as most now know was suppose to be the first Star Wars movie out... but I'm glad they waited. THis movie needed all the help from a graphical stand point. It still had a wonderful story line and kept me into the movie. Start your collection today

Summary: This should say it all.
Review: Ep.1 where to start. Bad acting, bad characters, etc, etc. It is obvious that Lucas made this movie for only one reason, to dupe all real Star Wars fans into spending their money on this movie. Whether you watched it in the theater or bought the stinking tape. This movie comes nowhere close to the original trilogy, and any real Star Wars fan knows this. I see some people stating that we love to trash this movie. This is untrue. If this movie had actually been good then we would have praised this movie big time. I really can't honesty see how anyone could give this movie 5 stars or anything above a 2 star rating. Do these people just sit down in front of their TV or theater screen and not judge at all the content they are watching or bother to question anything they see on the screen. Just because Lucas slapped the title "Star Wars" on it doesn't make it a true Star Wars movie.

When you watch the original trilogy you are captivated by them. They have a real story and a mystery about them. Even after all these years, when I watch the 3 original movies I don't want to leave the room. They grab your attention and hold on to it. They have a certain magic to them and a magic you can see within the characters. This is how a Star Wars movie is suppose to be, and this is what real Star Wars fans were expecting. They have every right to expect that in a Star Wars movie. But Lucas seemed to have dollar signs gleaming in his eyes when he made this movie. Knowing that past real Star Wars fans would be thrilled that a new Star Wars movie would be released he knew they would all pay to watch the movie. But his hunger for money is what really did it. With a bad script in hand he made one of the worst movies ever and then hyped it up for us to swallow. And for the real Star Wars fans who then threw-up this piece of garbage we were really disappointed. No magic, just basically a boring movie that wasted 2 hours of our time, money and was a insult to the original trilogy. I was personally thinking after watching Ep.1 that this must be some kind of joke. This really couldn't be the next installment of a great movie series, could it?

I'm in no hurry to see Ep.2 and Ep.3, especially if they are anything like Ep.1. In fact I probably won't watch them at all, and I'll either sell or give away my copy of Ep.1 and try and pretend that Ep.1 through Ep.3 don't exist, since they'll do nothing but spoil the original trilogy.

Special effects are great and all, but Ep.1 used too many of them. Computer generated characters look too fake, cartoon like, and the audience can see that easily. And if you can see that easily, then you have failed to make something look real that isn't. What happened to using real costumes with real people or remote controlled robots inside? These look more authentic and believable than some poorly done computer generation. Ep.1 also had several inconsistencies with the original trilogy and brought up more questions than answers. Jar Jar along with the other corny computer generated characters are best suited for Saturday morning cartoons than a real Star Wars movie.

It is clear that Ep.1 was totally made for little kids and for a little kid mentally and that the adult perspective was just a after thought with the hope from Lucas that all adult real Star Wars fans would be tricked into paying to watch this movie thinking it would be like the original trilogy. If Lucas wanted more money, he should have just made a little kids space movie and titled it "Space Junk Wars Ep.1" and left the whole Star Wars trilogy alone, that way the real Star Wars fans would not have gone to see it and be so disappointed.

In conclusion, don't even buy this movie for your little kid. Show them the original trilogy that has real content and a real story with magic that inspires imagination and real thinking, and try not to let them see Ep.1 that's nothing more than cookie cutter Hollywood garbage for the brain dead portion of our society.

Summary: It was great!
Review: Episode 1 had it all, make-up, special effects, costumes and a great cast. Full of fantasy and adventure as a young jedi begins his adventure in to the dark side. This was one of the best movies I have ever seen!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Episode 2 should be what episode 1 could of been
Review: Episode 1 has a good plot, superb special effects, and a few good actors. This movie also has many terrible actors, unneccisary characters, and a lot of stupidity. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching a sci-fi kids show. I will now list pros and cons about this movie.

Pros:
-Good plot
-plenty of battles throughout
-podracers were fun except they focused on Anikan too much
-Many new species, Some more annoying than others
-Superb special effects
-Cool destroy droids (at least something can worry a jedi)
-many more

Cons
-End battle dissapointing (Focuses on Anikan way to much!!!)
-Anikan!!! The great 9- year old podracer, builder, mechanic, slave, whatever!!
-The gayest battle droids ever
-Anikan was a terrible actor
-Qui-Gon-Jin was a terrible actor
-Jar Jar Binks the annyoing thing no on likes
-many more

Well now that George Lucas has hopefully learned his lesson, Qui-Gon-Jin is dead, and there is a new actor for Anikan, Episode 2 should be awesome. Hopefully there is no more Jar Jar Binks too.
I can't wait to see episode 2!!!

Summary: Poor job, Lucas.
Review: Episode 1 is a MAJOR disappointment from the get go. It's not even worth 1 star, but I could not figure out how to give it a poorer rating. It lacks none of the depth and vision that the the 3 earlier movies did, and the story line is WEAK! The best part of the movie, and the sole reason why I bought it, is because of Jar Jar Bink's humourous antics. The robots with their stupid "roger, roger" are arsinine! And it is ludicrous for the technology to be "better" in the prequel, and worse in the supposedly subsequent movies. Episode 1 is more of a comedy than anything else. George: this movie is nothing more than a greedy attempt on your part to rip the die-hard Star Wars fans off. Aren't you rich enough already? Why don't you get with the programme and make the next movie a little more sensible? And please, take those stupid robots out of there.

Summary: THE BEST ONE SO FAR
Review: Episode 1 is the best Star Wars so far. I love anything to do with lightsabers. The best thing about the movie is the special effects. My favorite characters are Jar Jar,Qui-gon,and Obi-Wan. I especially like the lightsaber dual at the end. The music when Queen Amidala and her team open up the door with Darth Maul."We'll handle this," said Qui-gon. "We'll take the long way," said Queen Amidala. If you don't think this is a good movie your weird.

Summary: The Force is not with this one
Review: Episode 1 pales in comparison to the original trilogy. The CGI is well done, but someone forgot to tell Mr. Lucas that this is a movie, not a video game. The acting is bad. Jake Lloyd as Anakin, really annoyed me. I also can't forget Jar Jar(shudder).

The only good things about this movie are 1.) The pod race and 2.) The lightsaber duel at the end.

It's only because of the overall DVD package, that this movie got a rating of 3. Without the extras, that would only leave you the movie, itself. Lets just say that Episode 1, by itself, is worth just that, a 1. Thank goodness for DVD.

Summary: The force is strong with this one
Review: Episode 1 sets up perfectly not only the next 2 sequels, but the entire star wars saga. If certain aspects had to be shortened such as the detailed character development of the key players, than so be it. The next movies will do that. Episode 1 sets up the situation and shows us who is who in the star wars universe. It is true that this film is more about the situation than the characters, but that's the way it's supposed to be. The first chapter always does that. Lucas hasn't lost his ability, he knows exactly what he's doing with the story. The film has also been criticized for being too kid friendly, even though it is on the same level as the other 3. The story is more in depth in this film, with the political situation, the duality of palpatine. This film has it all. It is a great mythological story that plants the seeds for the following chapters to flourish. The CG effects are unsurpassed and even the hated jar-jar binks brings a kind of slapstick humor that was missing from the classic films. The explanation of the midichlorians makes sense also. They don't secrete the force, the more of them you have in you, the stronger connection you have with the force. That makes perfect sense! Overall, this film is a masterpiece.

Summary: A Pretty Good Movie...
Review: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace as an introduction to the Star Wars Saga successfully fulfilled its purpose. As a movie overall the CG was amazing and the battles were mouth-dropping. But at the end of the movie you feel like something was missing. The plot was true to Lucas' style but some of the lines were a little corny (Anakin's "yipee!"). This movie is a definite must have because it plays an important role in the saga. If your looking for a masterpiece either save your money for Episodes 2 and 3 or get one of the originals.

Summary: What went Good
Review: Episode 1 was a good movie. the special effects for it were excellent. however, who was that jar jar character? he simply got in the way. Though I'm not Jamacian, i really hate him. Thank you for your time
