Summary: Extraordinary!
Review: X-Men is a very good movie. When I saw it in 2000 at the theater, I didn't tought much of it, but when I saw it on DVD, it changed my opinion. The movie doesn't have that much visual effetcs, but it is based on characters and the movie is really to make us understand what are the X-Men. Hugh Jackman is a very good new actor and probably the new superstar actor. The movie starts with Magneto when he was young in Germany and how he discoverd he had the power to create magnetic fields. Then, we meet Rogue who discovers that she is rather dangerous when touched by someone. There is also Charles A.Xavier who is the head of the college for mutants and the creator of the X-Men. He goes to Washington to attend a meeting at the senate where a senator fights against the mutants. The next X-Men we meet, is Wolverine, who is a mutant that has the ability to heal himself of everything. He also has a skeleton made out of metal and claws comes out of his hands when he needs to use them. He fights in a club in Canada and that's where he meets Rogue who ran away from home. She follows him until he meets Sabertooth on the highway and is forced to fight with. He is captured by good mutants and they take him to Xavier's college. Meanwhile, Magneto captures the senator and transform him into a mutant. When Magneto kidnaps Rogue, Wolverine and the other X-Men and forced to go and save her. The movie is very good, but the DVD is awesome, you parcticaly see the whole making of the movie and you a load of extras like other documentaries about visual effects and the premiere of the movie, it also have the screen test of Hugh Jackman and other actors. I highly recommend X-Men 1.5 on DVD, you need it in your collection.

Summary: Don't buy it if you own the first
Review: This is a okay DVD. The movie is so-so. X2 is much better. Hugh Jackman is wonderful as Wolverine. Patrick Stuart and Ian McKellon are also good in their parts. That's where it goes down hill. Hallie Berry and Famke Janeen are both good actresses, however this is not their best movie. They were just not given enough material in this movie. Hallie was much better in Die Another Day. If X3 is made she should skip it. The rest of the cast was fine. Anna Paquin has a great southern accent. Know onto the DVD itself.
I was very inpressed with the packaging. Much nicer than most of the DVD's in my collection. The first disk has the movie, commentary and deleted scenes. My one problem with the first disc is that you can not watch the deleted scenes without the movie. Second disc has a few interesting features (nothing special) traliers, and TV spots. I felt the most interesting features were the ones about the coustumes and special effects. Nice preview of X2 and daredevil, however by know everyone has already seen both movies in theatres.
Final Verdict- If you have the first edition DONT buy this one. However if you don't have the first one and have 20 bucks lying around it will be a nice edition to your collection. 3.5 stars
Intersting note-Mystic only has one line in this movie.

Summary: Great Movie, Excellent DVD
Review: I for one really enjoyed this DVD and its special features. This movie in my opinion is one of the best movies ever. It stars a cast of very talented actors and a very creative director. This movie is a fun action movie but with a real human and emotional element to it. It also gives us comic relief throughout the movie. One of the biggest examples is the antagonism between Wolverine and Cyclops. The special features in this DVD are some of the best I have seen. On the first disc we have the chance to see the movie in an entirely different way by turning on the enhanced viewing mode which takes you during the movie to 6 deleted scene in the spot they were ment to be in and 17 behind the scene documentaries. The commentary provided by Director Byran Singer and Brian Peck is very informative and very fun to listen to. On the second disc there is an 8 min sneak preview of X2, which made me want to see X2 even more. There are also 5 featurettes (which also have their own enhanced viewing mode!) and all the theatrical, teaser, and Internet trailers, and all the TV spots. It also has storyboard art, which includes sets, characters, and weapons. The five featurettes are: "The Uncanny Suspects" which is the story of how the movie came to be and it includes behind the scenes footage and cast and crew interviews. "Production Documentary Scrapbook" which is a production documentary which includes a meeting of all crew involved with the movie, scouting for locations, and more behind the scenes footage, "The X-Factor which basically is a documentary on the looks and costumes of the movie, "Special Effects of X-Men" which is a featurette on the special effects of the movie, and finally "Reflection of the X-Men" which is the cast and crew reflecting on the experience of making the film. This DVD is a must have for anyone who wants to enjoy a good movie and have fun during or afterwards.

Summary: Good, but nothing great
Review: Being a fan of the Xmen I expected better. The movie was good, even though it was a bit slow. The extra's were just ok. I found myself getting bored quit easily. If your a hardcore fan get this. If not, don't bother with it..

Summary: One of the best DVDs
Review: X-Men 1.5 is a definite improvement over the first release, which wasn't that bad either. This has the fabulous movie adapting the mutant comic book characters, the uncanny X-Men, onto the big screen. Wolverine is played by Hugh Jackman, Professor Charles Xavier by Patrick Stewart, Storm by Halle Berry, Magneto by Ian McKellen, Toad by Ray Park, Mystique by Rebecca Romjin-Stamos, and Jean Grey by Famke Janssen. All deliver great performances, and other X-Men such as Cyclops and Sabretooth also play good roles, played by lesser known actors.

The DVD delivers with crisp, incredible-sounding audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 soundtracks. Incredible picture quality is delivered, THX-certified, widescreen 2.35.:1 letterbox. The special features certainly deliver, with interesting audio commentaries, a teaser trailer for Daredevil, and a behind-the-scenes look at X2: X-Men United.
A worthy buy in any serious collector's collection.

Summary: X-Men for the masses.
Review: If you are into the comic books, then this is the movie for you. While this movie doesn't stick completly to the comic (e.g. they made some bad casting choices based on what the characters in the comic book) the effects and storyline are entertaining and leave you wanting more. If you can't suspend your disbelief for 2 hours, don't bother with this one. Lots of extras in the set and lots of things for the hard core Marvel Comics fans throughout the movie.

Summary: A great movie, could be better features
Review: I was impressed when 1.5 came out and the hours of special features featured with it intrigued me. However, after viewing the features it did not fulfill my expectations and was somewhat disappointed. I expected more interviews with the cast and more behind the scenes action. But the movie is great and the quality is excellent. Some reviewers have said this was just a publicity stunt and what not...I believe it somewhat is for its price since most of the special features featured clearly show why it was not in the original X-Men DVD - its quality lacks in expectations.

Since I am a hardcore fan, I will give it 4 stars, since it did not met my expecations. The high 4 stars is for the movie. If you are a hardcore fan like me, get it. However, a regular fan of the X-Men movie should look for the original DVD...this is basically for HARDCORE fans and regular fans may not be impressed with the special features they paid more for.
