Summary: yawn....
Review: I was somewhat disapointed with the first one (or is it the fourth??). But Star Wars - Episode II is even worst... It simply looks like a movie setting up another later movie... But then again that is what I thought of the first one. I got this movie along with another one (the time machine 2002). And let me be honest to tell you that the time machine was 500% better than Star Wars episode 2. I basically wasted almost two hours watching a few good special effects :-(

The "original" Star wars (episode 4 to 6) were way way beyond their "newer" brethrens...

Rent it to see some special effects, but not much else.

Summary: CLONES solid actioner, despite weak romance
Review: George Lucas continues the Anakin Skywalker AKA "How I became Darth Vader" story in this 2nd installment, which is definitely an improvement over THE PHANTOM MENACE. For one thing, the obnoxiously insipid Jar Jar Binks is reduced to a mere cameo, while the ever wise and popular Yoda plays a major role in the film's climax. Now fully digital instead of a puppet, the little green guy gets to show just why he has this reputation as a Jedi master, with the usual aid of Frank Oz's voice. Also, the main villian , Count Dooku, is played by the wonderful Christopher Lee with his usual style and grace. Ewan McGregor is solid as an older Obi-Wan Kenobi. As always, the special effects are captivating. However, with all these great assets, the film still has its share of clunky moments. The romantic sup-plot becomes tediously weak as the film goes on. While Natalie Portman's Amidala is as lovely as ever, her performance lacks a degree of passion needed to be truely convincing. Hayden Christensen, in contrast, seems to play Anakin in a state of perpetual pout. Still, the movie is full of action galore and a vast improvement on the previous film. Definitely recommended for sci-fi action fans.

Summary: An excrutiatingly, pathetic bore.
Review: What ever happend to ACTING? Who the hell is the guy playing the part of Anikin? Did he ever hear of the word ACTING? Is he here only because of some unknown nepotism? God, this non-actor can't even speak, he mumbles every line given to him, looks totally overwhelmed throughout the film & manages to bring all of the other performers down to his level. Ms Portman, what happend to your acting skills? I've seen your work in earlier films and you have always managed to impress me. Not here. In the professional you were a young kid that seemed wise & old for your age, in this, whatever you call it, you appear to be older, yet striving to act like a toddler. Very disapointing. Not recommended if you're older than 10.

Summary: Dissappointed
Review: This episode was really disappointing for me for as well as for several dedicated Star Wars fans. The main reason is that the acting is so superficial! Anakin has the key role in the film and Hayden Christensen can't quite deliver this pivotal role. Ewan McGregor is OK but even with him and Yoda, you get a movie that you are not really satisfied with. If the acting is overall poor, no digital effect will make that movie spectacular. And here you have it. A near failure. I guess Yoda saves the film after all! At least his character is solid and real (even though he isn't).
If you can not come up with a good movie, the commentaries make no sense.
This episode conveys a sad story, where you see (or are supposed to see) how Anakin starts giving signals of submision into the Dark Side, and it was therefore really important to show the conversion. But you get the feeling of cheap acting and that's really disappointing. Remember the first scene of Episode IV and how Darth Vader walks through the corridors of the space shuttle. Episode II, by no means, gets any close to that level of acting and atmosphere!
Digital effects are important to Star Wars but I think it is more important to have good acting than to put state-of the art digital effects and turn the saga into a computer game.
I was going to get this DVD even if the movie were worse because it is a part of Star Wars saga and I know there are a lot of you like me. My only hope lies now in Episode III.

Summary: This movie has everything
Review: This movie has everything because they tell us about the clone wars. The romance between Anakin and Senator Amidala. The bounty hunter Boba Fett of how he became a bounty hunter from his father side. They show us how Anakin's right hand was cut off. And they show us how the clones were formed by telling us where the clones came from and who took over the clones after the movie was over by the Supreme Chancellor (Darth Sidious).

People out there dont know what they are talking about because they didnt like having a romance movie with Anakin and Padme having there love seen and having there love relationship with each other. We needed the movie to be long because Lucas wanted his fans to know facts about Boba Fett, the Clones, etc. Thats why they maded the movie to be long and exciting for his fans. A fan said that Owen Lars buyed C-3PO and he didnt remember him because he hasnt seen him for 22 years and his covering was different then his rusty covering he had on him.

Summary: A DVD for Hard Core Star Wars fans
Review: My seven year old loves it. The Battle of Geonosis is a experience through a stereo. The deleted scenes are quite interesting.

Summary: I liked it less than the Phantom Menance
Review: The Anikan character needs a spanking. I didn't see in him any of the great Jedi Knight characteristics that are referred to in Star Wars by Obi Wan. Were the "people" characters referred to as humans in the original movies? Did I miss the human referrence. It took something away for me--so the dark side is satan and the force is God. I hope they cast someone else in the Anikan role; someone that can carry that role. He doesn't need to be goodlooking just a good actor. I wasn't too impressed with Natalie Portman either. I think because we know how the major characters turn out, the writing in the prequel concerning the major characters has to be unique and clever. Anikan has to turn to evil because of something occuring in his life other than his mother's death or that he hates the way Obi Wan treats him. And men always think that women fall for someone like Anikan--he's portrayed as a loser; what woman would want this crybaby. Come on, give me a break. This movie was too contemporary. Lucas should remember that the scenery and the ideas should remain on the same level as the first three movies. I was VERY disappointed. The writers and director will have to do better than this for the clincher, and remember that while some viewers are morons, the majority of us demand a good script.

Summary: Shoulda got the widescreen
Review: The movie is fantastic, the bonus disc outstanding. My only diappointment is that I didn't get the 16:9 widescreen format.

Oh, well... shouldn't have left it to the wife to pick it up.

Review: I thought that the Spiderman guy was in this movie. Boy, was I disappointed! No sign of the Spiderman, and the story was really confusing. I much preferred that flick with the giant rubber shark, or even that cartoon with Don Knotts!
