Summary: A big improvement
Review: With Star Wars Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones, George Lucas makes up for a lot of the shortcomings of Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Here, in Episode 2, We finally get to see a lot of the historical events that had only been teasingly described in the original classic trilogy and which most Star Wars fans had hoped to see in Episode I. For example: The beginning of 'The Clone Wars', armies of Jedi Knights going into battle, the friendship of young Obi-Wan Kenobi and young Anakin Skywalker, and of course, the earliest stages of Anakin's slip toward the Dark Side.

I know there are a lot of people out there who were so bitterly disappointed with Episode I that they now hold a fierce grudge against Lucas and Star Wars in general. These types have developed an ugly chip on their shoulder, and refuse to be swayed, as if hating George Lucas for making Episode I were now a matter of personal honor, or something. I feel a little sorry for these passionately angry souls.

Because, let's be fair, Attack of the Clones delivers the old fashioned Star Wars goods, the likes of which I've not seen since Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi, in 1983. Yes, there's some stiff acting and corny dialogue between Anakin and Padme, and an atrocious Saturday morning cartoon level comedy gag which bastardizes C-3PO in the latter half.

But there's also hundreds of Jedis with lightsabers chopping evil droids and bug-men to pieces, three great-looking giant monsters, a spooky water planet, the evil of Christopehr Lee, intense action scenes involving Jango Fett, a gigantic war at the end, Natalie Portman with most of her clothes ripped off, more bodily dismemberments per capita than any Star Wars movie so far, and of course, you finally get to see why Yoda is called 'The Master.'

If you go into Episode 2 Attack of the Clones, determined to be disappointed and with The Phantom Menace chip firmly placed on your shoulder, of course you will hate it.

On the other hand, if you just relax and enjoy it for what it is, you have to admit, it's a cool movie, totally entertaining, and loads of fun.

Summary: FORGET THE RAZZIES!
Review: I am so sick of hearing that this movie was nominated for "Worst film of the year!" Now, having said that, it's definitely a contender. "I coulda been a contenda!"

Summary: Is this movie supposed to make you sick?
Review: Or was it just me? Me-thinks Lucas needs an attitude adjustment. His last efforts have fallen well short of the mark.

Summary: My goodness
Review: what a stinker! My friends and I ALL thought this movie was poorly brought to the screen. It could have been great considering the acting talent on board. We all wanted it to be great. I hate to admit it, but we left the theater 30 minutes early so we would not get caught in traffic!

Summary: Fire Lucas immediately
Review: Wow, that was bad. Whatever positive thoughts I had about Star Wars are now drowned in the nausea that overwhelmed me after watching this ridiculous video game of a movie.

I agree with it being nominated for Razzies "Worst Film of the Year!"

Summary: Ridiculous
Review: PATHETIC

I hated this movie because it offended my delicate sensibilities. Now, the movie was a stinker, we all know. I don't get the 5 star reviews. My friends in San Fran all think this movie was not quite sensitive enough.

Summary: Better Than Episode One
Review: There are alot of things wrong with this film, bad directing and writing, (thanks to George Lucas), and almost too many special effects. The acting is not that great, but how can actors act, if there's nothing to work with? Don't get me wrong this is a fun movie, that you'll enjoy, unless you take it too seriously, but still, Lucas could have done better.

I liked this film, but will not compare it to the originals, because this trilogy is very different. however, I can compare it to "The Phantom Menace". The acting in "Clones" was improved some what, although Hayden Christensen's performance, as Anakin, is not his best work, he is not as annoying to that, look-at-me-I'm-so-cute Jake Loyd. Ewan McGregor's performance is much better than in "Phantom" but still needs some help. Rounding out the main cast is Natalie Portman, who gives a very wooden performance, and shows no real emotion (especially to Anakin), in most of her scenes. In my opinon Portman's performance was better in episode one. And most of the scene's that she does show some emotion in, where deleted! (Check out disc 2) As for the annoying Jar Jar Binks....he is barely in the film, with only two real scenes!

The film starts out ten years after "Phantom" on Coruscant, the Republic's captial. After a assassin try's to kill senator Padme Amidala ( formally known as Queen Amidala), Obi-Wan and his padawan (Anakin) are sent to protect her. After a long action scene, Anakin and Padme head back to Naboo, while Obi-Wan heads to Kamino to find out some important information. Soon after landing on Naboo, Padme and Anakin share their first kiss, and Anakin decalare's his love for her. Soon they are forced to head to Tatooine, to help find his mother (Shmi from episode one). Meanwhile Obi-Wan discovers clones, of a bounty hunter (Jango Fett), that are being made for the Republic, to serve as an army. And back in Corucsant, Jar Jar gives Chancellor Palpatine complete power over the Republic(I think we all know what happens because of Jar Jar, think Empire). At the end of the film, they all get back together, just in time for a major Jedi fight.

Over all this film is about 2 1/2 to 3 stars, but the extra features make it 4. They may not be as good as episode one's features, but the menu's and movie are!

Summary: Back on Track
Review: AOTC is not the Phantom Menace. The Phantom Menace didn't live up to the hype and because of their dissapointment, many people didn't give AOTC a chance from the getgo. That being said, AOTC IMO is the best starwars movie since Empire Strikes Back. If you liked the first trilogy you will probably like AOTC. If you hated Episode I: Phantom Menace then you will probably like AOTC.
If you didn't like the first trilogy, then you won't like AOTC, and are better off watching your Julia Roberts, Striessand, or other sappy trendy film of the week.
Lucas has shown us he hasn't lost his touch with AOTC. I look forward to Episode III. It will likely be better than Empire.

Summary: I am underwhelmed
Review: What do people think when a movie gets so much money thrown at it, people want to love it, [people] wait in line for tickets, then it comes out as a big, overbloated mediocre film? I love the original Star Wars trilogy. If the 2 recent ones had come out first, the plug would have been pulled on this series.
