Rating: Summary: Great! A bigger budget would have helped though Review: Low budget movies that make it big are few and far between. Like "Mad Max" this one got the timing just right, where as the big budgeted "Blade Runner", (to which this film owes a lot too, imagery wise), was ahead of its time and although set the gloomy metropolis design standard for the 80's and became a classic given time, flopped on first release. Whatever, 1984 was the year that Cameron's low budget sci fi flick came out and triumphed, making a star of Arnie and shooting Cameron into the directorial mainstream, where as more expensive movies like "Dune" flopped. This film's a gem. A non stop display of action, violence, stunts and special effects, although those have clearly dated through the lack of money, (Terminator's budget was only $6 million) where as Blade Runner's still look great. These days, the stop motion puppet used in the scene when the robot takes a scalpel to his eye ball looks as much like Arnie as it does Wallace, or Gromit for that matter! Still this is a great, fun sci fi movie, that, like "Star Wars", does not seek to take sci fi to its extreme using metaphor to make statements about one's humanity like "Blade Runner" or "2001", but simply takes its audience on a roller coaster ride for 2 hours and gives Arnie his best role ever, even though he only has a couple of lines. Solid performance too, from Biehn and Hamilton. Its a shame we haven't see more of them since this classic.
Rating: Summary: Dark and chilling Sci-fi thriller Review: What is so great about this film is that it is so dark. Today's action movies are all to soft and lack any kind of meaning. This film's setting is suitably dark and seedy, very 80's, and carefully scripted action sequences, like when the terminator invades the police station and kills 12 police officers, are particularly chilling and somehow this violence does not seem over the top or gratuitous, as it all has a meaning. And to top it off the cold electronic music at the end adds brilliantly to the moody atmosphere. This film really shows off the talents of both Cameron and Schwarzenegger, being by far the best movies eithir of them have made. This film is a classic of cinema and will always be remembered. The Terminator is by far the best action movie ever made and it's legacy will never die. No doubt one of the top 10 films ever made.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: this is a great film. It has a good plot and acting. It can get a little slow at times but is still great
Rating: Summary: Dark and disturbing Sci-Fi Action Review: This film is a classic. It is a dark, disurbing, chilling and gruesome movie. Much better than the sissy T2 and a role Schwarzenegger was born to play. Best action film ever
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT FLICK Review: I really enjoyed this movie a lot. T2 had better special effects, but this movie is well worth seeing. Arnold did a good job of playing the Terminator. Good, creative storyline.

Rating: Summary: This is one of the coolest action, blow-stuff-up films ever. Review: The Terminator is an exciting blend of explosions, death, and foul language, sure to tingle the mind of any young, red blooded American male. This is NOT a good date movie. This is one to watch with the guys, two pitchers of beer, and some salty snacks. Make sure not to miss the nude scene! If you don't own a copy of this already, get off your butt and get out your credit card!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Review: Two words: Great movie. Unfortunately the movie was originally recorded in mono, so there is really nothing they could do about the sound. But overall a really entertaining movie!
Rating: Summary: The best Movie Ever The Person who Rated 1 Star is stupid Review: A movie that ranks Better then Even Gone with the win
Rating: Summary: Theater Mono - On a DVD ? - keep your VHS if you have it Review: I can't believe it, this movie on DVD has the original sound that it did in 1984 - what gives? This of all movies should be in Dolby Digital. My advice is to keep your VHS copy. If you don't have a VHS then you may as well get the DVD - just don't expect any spectacular sounds
