Review: You know what's wrong with Trek films? It's the economics. The typical STAR TREK TV show costs about 1.3 million buks. Nope, that's not cheap, but it's peanuts compared to the price of one of these films.That's a problem, because the TV series takes risks and is about exploring out society and asking the really tough questions. A $50 million-plus film can't afford to take a risk; so it goes for the easy win. Oh darn, the Klingons seem to have blown up their moon and pollute their atmosphere. What should we really nice humans do? Lots of really cool space battle effects. It's not enough. "Adventure, excitement, a Jedi craves not these things." - Yoda

Summary: What's with the dialogue?
Review: This is the first DVD that I've played where the dialogue doesn't match the characters' lips! Did anyone else experience this annoyance? It's oh-so-close, and there are long periods where the speech is out of sync and then it's back in again. Wonderful DVD and movie otherwise but I was really disappointed with the lip sync effect.

Review: This movie has everything! Action, drama, comedy, and more. Plus the soundtrack is amazing!. The Undiscovered Country is the best film of the originals ever. After the suffering Final Forntier.

Review: I'm not a huge Star Trek fan but in my opinion this is the finest entry in the series. The characters are great, The landscapes are beautiful and the plot is thrilling. What made this movie even better was the fact I watched on DVD. Contrary to what some others have said the quality of this DVD is excellent, The sound is crisp and the picture is very vivid, When you watch this film on DVD you actually feel like you're part of the of the enterprise. An excellent film and an even better DVD. The best scene's of this film were the one's that took place at the intergalactic penal colony, Truly amazing.

Review: The last voyage of the original cast and crew was one that will not be forgotten. The DVD enhances the experience even more. There is also a teaser trailer on this DVD that is most interesting. Don't pass this opportunity up.

Review: In opposition to what some other viewers have said here on Amazon, this is a wonderful DVD. Maybe these people need new players? The picture was awesome, the sound out of this world, and the addition of the trailers was a great added bonus. And heck, even listen to Captain Kirk in FRENCH!!! Don't listen to the others, this is a great buy.

Summary: Not top Trek, but worth the price.
Review: The movie was good. The DVD video quality was disappointing, but acceptable. The worst part was the dearth of DVD extras. The weakest part of the plot was its heavy reliance on surprises to create interest: This succeeds for the initial viewing, but makes replays considerably less interesting. Besides the anomalies mentioned in previous reviews, there is also the question of why the shape-shifter didn't bother proving her(?) identity to the Klingons by shifting her shape.

Summary: Well,, I can change my mind, I'm not a politician...
Review: I got annoyed with this. Can't imagine why really. I have recently started the serious acquisition of the first series and looked hard at it, and thought a bit more. I can't honestly be persuaded that on the whole the series hasn't probably done a great deal of good (lotza double negatives... i.e. I really like it) I suspect that a lot of people in the States were finding the end of the cold war unsettling, but if you look at the first series, you can see the evolution of a very complex relationship between the Klingons and the Federation that is important and very relevant to the ethics and morals that we all must dwell on from time to time. Actually, I was terribly unjust on another review, and said things I now regret. Everyone, from Uhura to the bad Klingons do their very best to speak into the performance a convincing statement. The fact that in the end, an enemy may make a powerful ally and that gentleness wins over military force in the long run... This is everything the big boss man says over and over again. Objections to dodgy physics are unworthy and dull minded. Good job I didn't give out my phone number! I think that if this was a sort of goodbye for the crew, it is nice to think that in this story, they are all even more noble and good than in, say, the Devil in the Dark, the Galileo Seven, or the Day of the Dove. Its all very moving, actually. It is some interesting observation, perhaps, that no matter how dark the world has become, there is some undefeatable hope that never quite gets dumped in the bucket. Ghandi said that (not in the same words). Good Lord, is there no end of applications for this movie? Aren't we facing this right now? Hello?

Summary: The very best of the Trek films.
Review: "The Undiscovered Country," is the very best of the Trek films. When Star Trek: The next Generation debuted on televcison it took palce nearly one hundred years after the original Star Trek series. Things were different. The Federation and the Klingons had achieved peace. There was no neutral zone. But how did this happen? "The Undiscovered Country" explains how peace was achieved. It begins when a mining moon above the kLingon home world explodes poisoning the planet's air. Now the Klingons only have fifty years of breathable air left. The problem can be solved but the they need the Federation's help. A peace treaty is proposed but there may be trouble. On his way to erath the Klingon chancellor is murdered and Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Doctor McCoy (Deforest Kelly) are framed for the crime. Obviously someone doesn't want the peace treaty to take place. Now it's up to the Starship Enterprise to prove its Captain's innocence and stop teh assanins. This is the best Trek film for several reasons. The assanins are high ranking officers and their names aren't revealed to the end which gives it a mystery element. There's a great space battle between the Enterprise and a Bird of pey that can be cloaked and fire at teh same time, and Kirk finally forgives the Klingons for the death of his son. Whether or not you're a Trek fan this is the best one to see.
