Review: The scenes when they're readying the ship are magniffacent, the scenes when they are traveling in the ocean aren't the best but the scene when the one rich charecter kills the dolphin are forescene earlier in the movie. I accually liked this movie.

Review: If you are into the Sea as I, this film will grab you tightly and take you for a ride. One that is refreshing and captivativing. This is one of the 'secret' movies that no one is aware of and will surprise you.

Summary: Bridges is great as the capt.
Review: I really enjoy true to life stories. I saw this in the movies and got it on DVD. There could be more extras, but the film it self is great just to watch. Jeff Bridges is out standing as allways. The only down fall is the so-so acting from the younger (90210/Party of1/Dawsons pond,etc..) cast. The storm seen is awsom, and a great score. Very acurat as far as the Naval jargun and the Coast Gaurd being under the Navy. (up untill 1967 the coast gaurd was part of the Navy)If you like true stories, or coming of age adventure then you'll enjoy this.

Summary: A masterpiece!
Review: I first rented this film a few years back and enjoyed it thoroughly, and every so often would go back to watch it again. This just happened again last night, and finally (!) I was just blown away by the quality of this film -- every second, every frame is meticulously crafted and stunningly beautiful. The cast is just about flawless, and the story is completely absorbing.It's completely different from "Blade Runner," but at the same exceptionally high level of film making. This one definitely goes in my video library!!

Summary: Greatest movie ever!
Review: This is truly the greatest movie ever for several reasons. One, the cast was wonderfully chosen and did an outstanding job. Two, the overall message that friends can touch your heart and change your life is very touching and inspriring. Three, the courage that these boys show in the end is breathtaking. I first wanted to watch this movie because Jason Marsden played the brave and daring (and hot) first mate Shay Jennings, I loved it because of what it taught me about life: You have to face the wind and accept what it leaves behind. I wish you would let me rate this movie with 100 stars because the movie has earned every one of them.

Summary: OUTSTANDING
Review: This was to say the least a wonderfull film. The actors were great and very convincing, it had an emotional plot based upon the male bonding of some young men and the problems they endure. The ending is of a sad but sweet nature. I would highly recommend this movie - to rent or buy. I myself am hoping to make it a purchase.

Review: the other night i was at the video store just looking through titles of movies on video. i happened to glance at the title & what it was about on the back of the cover, i thought it sounded like a cool story. after debating which one i was going to get, i chose this one i'm glad i did .very good story love it, very thought provoking in the story & the characters in it. it's one i would buy or rent again enough said

Summary: a wonderful film
Review: The first time I saw this movie was in bits and pieces in the video store in which I worked. I bought it and was not prepared for the greatness of the acting, the magnificent cinemetograhpy, and the story of a group of boys' coming of age. I cry at the end every time I watch it, it's that emotional. I loved Jeff Bridges as the Skipper. His was a strong performance. Scott Wolf too was excellent. For anyone who wants to see a movie that hits into the center of the heart, watch this one. Its poingnancy is tangible. Thank you Mr. Scott for this amazing, comical, tragic, wonderful film.

Review: The best thing about not only the directing but the acting was the real thing in this film. This film also haves good storytelling and great locations. Suberb Acting From Jeff Bridges, Scott Wolf, Jeremy Sisto and Ryan Phillippe in is first big movie, later star in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions. This is one of Ridley Scott`s Best Films. Grade:A-. Panavision.

Summary: Beautiful Look with Strong Story
Review: I was lucky enough to see this film on the big screen when it was released. It is very unfortunate that this movie did not achieve the box-office success that it deserved. Jeff Bridges gives a strong performance(does he ever give less) in a role that is not as large as one might predict. Everyone else surrounding him on the ship gives strong performances as well. This film was based on a true story, and is never boring and is always beautiful to look at. Not to mention a beautiful and amazing score that fits the mood and setting perfectly. This movie has everything that a great film should. Ridley Scott impresses once again. A
