Summary: Could Be The Greatest Movie Ever Made........
Review: Titanic really could be. I wasn't sure about seeing Titanic at first but now I so glad I did. This movie took me places emotionally that I never knew I could. Kate Winslet is wonderful as Rose, no one else could have played her. I'm still shocked she's English. Couldn't tell by listing to her. Leonardo DiCaprio really shined. I think maybe his best role since What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Gloria Stuart....what more can I say. The whole Cast really gave it's all and it showed.

Hey you don't have to take my opinion or anyone else on here's. Rent it or buy it yourself and you judge. It didn't win 11 Oscar's for nothing.

Summary: Bubble gum, but you can still learn something from it.
Review: This is a good film that was well worth the time I spent watching it.

Frankly, I wasn't all that drawn into the main story. What was more compelling for me was how this movie brought the loss into perspective. It is difficult for me to get in touch with the loss of so many lives, especially when it happened so long ago.

I suggest that you don't see this movie for the story itself, but to help bridge the gap between yourself and the era. It helped me understand how people had developed the arrogance that led to comments such as "virtually unsinkable."

It's a good film.

Summary: Billions served
Review: Just because Titanic has made a billion dollars doesn't prove it's a good film any more than the golden arches boasting "billions served" proves McDonald's makes good food. Films like Titanic are so formulaic it's a wonder we aren't asked "would you like fries with that?" when purchasing tickets.

Consider the famous "Big Mac" recipe: "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, onion, pickles on a sesame seed bun." Substitute a few words here and there and you get "two big-name stars, special FX, artistic license, cheesecake, action, cheap sentimentality and the occasional gun." There's something for everyone, but no real substance.

Pop culture in all westernized nations (and wannabe westernized nations) gobble up films like Titanic they same way they gobble up French fries and non-dairy shake products. We pull up to the fast-food drive-through window just like little eaglets, open-mouthed and eyes closed, begging for regurgitated gruel to fill our bellies and thighs. The films we watch indicate no greater taste or refinement than the food we eat. Even though doctors warn us that these films are clogging the arteries of our culture, we can't get enough. Many are in denial, and for others it's a guilty pleasure. Sooner or later, we're going to have an infarction. In the mean time, we shall all hail Titanic director James Cameron as self-proclaimed "King of the World!" --or should that be Ronald McDonald?

Summary: Definitely a winner.
Review: My wife and I have seen the movie in the theatres about 8 times and have watched the VHS widescreen movie about 50+ times. It's just an awesome movie with great acting, and lots of action providing us, the viewers, with a wide variety of stimuli, both visually and auditorily. I really enjoyed the surprise ending with the Heart of the Ocean. :-) Everyone should have a copy of Titanic in their movie collection - it's a timeless classic. For those of you out there in Utah with me, nudity or not... it's part of the movie, the director wanted it there,.... so leave it there. Please don't censor great movies like these.

Summary: GREAT CAST, GOOD ACTING, AND BEAUTIFUL SETS!!
Review: This film had a wonderful cast and beautiful sets. Every where on the ship was just beautiful. I think that it got a little stupid after a while but I think that the movie was very good and everyone tried their hardest.

Summary: With all its flaws ,still left a lump in my throat...
Review: Just for sheer effort this movie deserves five stars.Though the purists and critics may split hairs and nitpick about the various performances it is still a magnificent recreation of one of the most tragic and historical events this century, excluding both world wars. Kate Winslett was marvelous and Leonardo was...adequate in their roles. For me their chemistry on screen was believable and worked well.Enough said. Though time is always the true test of a films success I have no doubt that Titanic will pass that test in 20,30 or 40 years time.As for the real Titanic I hope people have more respect and leave it where it is. James Cameron you deserved that bonus.

Summary: Boring Drivel
Review: Congratulations Cameron, you got away with it. I decided to view this movie because of the number of recommendations from friends reviewers etc. Has everyone gone mad?

A simple tale of a boring baby-faced American lad who falls in love with a slightly overweight, boring young English girl. One has to sit through seemingly endless hours of lifeless dialogue to arrive at the actual ship sinking. Now to the scene of the ship sinking which is remarkably well filmed. This is all one would expect of the man who directed T2.

Aside from the ship sinking there is really no point to this film. One has no feelings for such wooden characters and so when the ship sinks one admires the special effects etc but the people who perished?.....so what!

This is a shame because the people who did perish on that tragic night so long ago surely deserve better than this juvenile rubbish to mark their passing.

The one star above is for the ship sinking scene of course

Summary: ON A COLD DARK NIGHT
Review: James Cameron risked everything to bring meaning to this terrible tragedy. While there will always be critics for and againts what he captured on the big screen, try to imagine the sheer horror felt by those on board during that cold dark night in 1912. Thats what Mr. Cameron did his best to convey to movie goers all over the world. It doesn't matter that everyone knows how the movie ends. TITANIC is a 3 1/2 hour time capsule that will forever stir imagination and tug at the hearts of those who, if only for a brief moment in time, try to imagine what the experience was REALLY like.
