Rating: Summary: Thank God some reviewers agree Review: I was worried when I was reading the reviews that they would all be in love with this film. Thanks God, some reviewers had the sense to see this film for what it was - overatted! I agree with them. I heard much about this film, being this and that. When I actually saw it, I wasn't impression. There was great visual effects and story was fair, but to compare it to the Star Wars Trilogy or Superman The Movie is an insult! The film drags on too long and is not what one expects. I do notice that it is mainly teenage girls that seem to love this film?
Rating: Summary: A good but Dipressing movie Review: This movie is one you can see again and again. I thought it was a very dipressing and sad movie though. Of course its based on the true story of The sinking of the Titanic, that is why it is depressing. To see all those people die was heartbreaking for me. I would recomend this movie you'll most likely cry. I thought it was pretty good. I can't say too much more about this movie though. All I can say is if you like depressing movies then this would be one for you. If you like Romantic movies this is one for you, its not like other ones its actually moving. Most romantic movies i've seen are boring but not this one. Its 3 hours long and is a very moving film. You'll most likely like this movie
Rating: Summary: WHAT A TOTAL JOKE,JOKE,JOKE Review: this movie is ssso disterbing,i mean 1 star is too much for a movie like this. it does'nt worth a half star or even half the half star,i mean common it's so very BAAAAAAD......see ya.
Rating: Summary: No one can deny it! It's simply the best! Review: This is the most amazing movie on account of it being something that gets to you every time. No matter how many times I watch it I always feel my heart going out to the characters. I always smile and I always sob. I have never had a movie get to me like this one does. I think perhaps, some people who do not enjoy this movie don't let it in entirely. You have to let your imagination go and realize what it must have been like to leave the people you loved behind and know full well that you may never see them again. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet do a brilliant job and I don't believe anyone else could have done it better. James Cameron shows us that people then were no different then people are now. Overall it's an amazing movie. I recommend it to anyone who has the imagination to understand it.
Rating: Summary: I liked this movie, but James Cameron's done better Review: Titanic is the no.1 movie at the box office of all time. That, however, doesn't mean it's the best movie of all time.It wasn't bad, though. The two main characters,Rose and Jack, are likable, and Kate Winslet(you don't see much of her now) and Leonardo DiCaprio(his latest movie The Beach is awful)are very good in their roles. The part of the movie where Rose and Jack meet and fall in love is good, but it is really just filler material. After that when the ship strikes the iceberg and sinks the movie is excellent and very sad.The special effects are very good,(for 200 million they should be)the sets are great, and it's got a good musical score by James Horner(I think the soundtrack was a no.1 album, but it wasn't that great, just good.)Overall I think it's a very good movie, but I can't see James Cameron making a career out of dramas like this.Maybe he'll get back to making films like Terminator and Aliens one of these days. The DVD is outstanding with an excellent picture and sound, but there aren't a lot of extras.
Rating: Summary: Titanic: A good movie, that's it. Review: I want to keep this short and simple. Titanic is a good movie, but not amazing, but also not terrible. The cast was great, especially Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, and Kathy Bates. And those who said Kate Winslet wasn't good in here or think she's a terrible or bad actress? She wasn't that great in here, but please watch Heavenly Creatures, Jude, and her most recent Holy Smoke. Winslet today is one of our best and bravest actresses these days. Leonardo DiCaprio did a pretty good job as Jack and the speciall effects were stunning. And yeah, the movie might cost too much to make, but besides that it was worth it. But I must to agree that the storyline and the some of characters (won't say which ones) might of being better.
Rating: Summary: Most Overrated and Waste of Money, Agreed. Review: The story of the Titanic was a mysterious and tragic classic...until Cameron decided to ruin all of its history and beauty with a poorly written, immature, and not to mention-FICTIONAL love story poorly acted by two rather annoying actors. And I used to call Cameron (The King of the World) one of my favorite directors! Director of Aliens (the second of the series, and arguably, the best out of the series), the classic epic-The Abyss (absolutely beautiful, and excellently written and played), and both Terminator and Terminator 2 -- I expected much more depth, magic, and REALISM from Titanic. All it turned out to be was a shallow and cheezy romance that Cameron held above all the characters that were NONfictional. How does that do history justice? If you're going to make a movie based on a true story, you should NOT throw in a fictional romance and ignore all of the real stories that should have been respectfully represented. A disgrace! And a waste of a whole lot of money!
Rating: Summary: Good for a Television Mini Series Review: I liked parts of the movie especially the action scenes in the last half, but I didn't like the characters very much. If the two main characters were different and a different storyline to them was given, it might have been better. The charcter setup just seemed to easy for a movie supposed to be this big. I don't think that the scenes follwed history well either. Lets just say it should have been rated R. It wasn't up to all the hype either. Leonardo DiCaprio definitely wasn't the right actor for the role either. He was mainly just there to attract to under 20 girls. I would rather have a good movie with a good cast and have a lower gross than to know the movie wasn't that great with these characters but know it made $600 million. Definitely didn't deserve an Academy Award. Maybe for effects. Send this movie back to the ocean. the best thing about it was Celine Dion's song...which got on a lot of nerves after a while too. One star for the end of the movie. One star for the only interesting characters played by Billy Zane and Kathy Bates. Oh well. Besides the fact that it is the #1 grosser, it is pretty forgettable to me. Skip this one.
Rating: Summary: The boat sinks, the movie doesn't. Review: Romance, action, tragedy, noble characters and great effects. This movie has it all in abundance. Titanic deserves all the praise that comes it's way.
Rating: Summary: Glug! Glug! Glug! Review: Dealing with the dead, you should show some respect. With its anachronistic characters, this film is disrespectful to the past, in particular DeCaprio with his arrogant, brattish, vulgar personality. With good character actors all around, we are expected to care about what happens to the puppy love of DeCaprio's 2-dimensional character and the puggish Kate Winslet. This movie is an early indication of the disturbing trend that movies are increasingly aimed at kids or teenagers rather than adults.
