Summary: WHITE GIRL 2: NOT FOR THE TIMID
Review: The first Freeway was an original and well done black comedy. The only way I can categorize the sequel is as a cult movie. This film was disturbing from the start, only to have a more horrifyingly twisted ending.
It's hard to say what I liked about it,but it undeniably held my attention. Just as fair warning though, this movie is not for those with a weak heart or stomach. In fact,DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO SOUL. Otherwise, you'll end up having nightmares for the rest of your life and wake up in the middle of the night sobbing to yourself.

Summary: Even worse than the original, which was no classic.
Review: The first Freeway was messy enough, but at least there was a novelty to the proceedings. In Freeway 2, all restraints are tossed aside, as well as all consideration of credibility, structure, plotting, and clarity. Freeway 2 is a series of violent events and imagery with absolutely no connection -- though it's amusing to see Haensel and Gretel transformed into a story about a bulimic, an abused girl and a pervert, the idea is tossed in almost as an afterthought to the carnage indulged by White Girl (Natasha Lyonne) and Cyclona (Maria Celedonio).

Even with comedic genius Natasha Lyonne in the lead, the acting side of it sinks. Lyonne received an associate producer credit, which may be why she agreed to this mess of a movie, but the White Girl character -- though extremely interesting in the exploration of the bulimic mindset -- almost never drives the action. For the better half of the movie she's merely following Cyclona's lead and her character remains murky. This is important as it throws much doubt on the credibility of the romantic relationship that develops between Cyclona and White Girl. And the bulimia -- White Girl's defining trait as a character -- is also given insufficient weight, reduced to endless scenes of throwing up, but we're never treated to how White Girl feels about her condition. If her arc is to wrest free of her eating disorder, we must see how she feels about having to throw up after eating too much as early as the prison. And we don't -- the endless scenes of oral regurgitation don't add up to any emotional impact; White Girl, in fact, seems not to give a damn about it.

Celedonio as Cyclona is quite simply awful -- hysterical, switching from (unconvincingly) teary- eyed to loud-mouthed badass with no internal logic. No matter how much skin she shows, her inner world is unconvincing. It doesn't help that Matthew Bright's script is a mishmash of serial-killer and road-movie cliches, but a better actress (Lyonne, for example) could have at least made more of a poorly written character. Vincent Gallo is much better as the cross-dressing pervert, the "Wicked Witch" of the tale, a creepy cross between Tim Curry in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jaye Davidson in The Crying Game.

As for the execution...Bright's direction is as shaky as his writing. Music tracks are often too loud, making the dialogue and ambience of the first 20 minutes or so of the film nearly undiscernible; supporting characters are uninteresting stereotypes; pacing is lax and uncontrolled, with languishingly distracting scenes stretched out to the max but dramatic potential wasted in other scenes by too much abbreviation.

A real dent in Lyonne's resume, given her flawless comic portrayals in American Pie and Slums of Beverly Hills.

Summary: best film ever
Review: this film is fantastic, the name is dumb though, freeway 2, i mean there is no freeway at all in this. matthew bright should have just left it 'confessions of a trick baby' (this name is mentioned in the first film) other refrences to the original is the movie playing in the house crysal and cyclonia ransack. and the drifter is larry. some things i would like to seen in an actuall sequal of the first one is what happens to vanessa. freeway 2 offers more of a climax and closing than the first one. in many ways this film is better. because it's less of a sequal and more of a sepreate story, this film can stand on it's own and does'nt need to be linked with the first to make it seem better than it is, i'm actually sorry i missed it at the cinema.

Summary: NOT BAD!!!!!!!!!
Review: This flic starts off weird but ends up very nice! At the end everything you have been seeing in main characters starts to make sense. It's worth a rental for sure but I'll buy it!

Summary: Terrible
Review: This is a very bad film. "Freeway" was an excellent film portraying the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood in an odd, yet interesting and brilliant new way with great acting from Keifer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon. "Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trick Baby" is a terrible film trying to follow in the footsteps of "Freeway" by rewriting a fairy tale, only this time it's Hansel and Gretel.

In "Freeway," the fairy tale was crucial to the plot and helped move the story from one scene to the next. "Freeway 2" adds in the fairy tale at the last minute as sort of an after thought and it has no relevance to the plot.

This may have been a better movie had the writer decided to not make this a sequel to "Freeway" and instead focus on the characters of White Girl and Cyclona, who are two escaped criminals. One is a bulemic convicted drug dealer and prostitute sent away to a correctial facility and later prison for twenty years when a punishment that severe was unnecesary. The other (Cyclona) is a convicted serial killer who may either be delusional or have been pushed to the crimes she committed.

Instead, the film turns out to instead be a mess of a movie filled with unconnected scenes of graphic violence and mayhem followed by explicit scenes of sex that has nothing to do with either the plot or character development. The language and graphic violence in the first was somewhat needed to help form the characters in the film. In this film, it is unnecessary and seems forced by the characters.

Anyone who is open minded should seek out the superb "Freeway" and avoid this one. If you've seen "Freeway," the only reason to see this one would be to compare the two, only to realize how much better "Freeway" really is. Vincent Gallo is listed as being one of the main characters in this film, but he doesn't show up until the end and does a poor job of portraying a canabalistic serial killler.

Summary: Laughable
Review: This is hands-down, positively the sickest movie I have ever seen. I just finished watching it 15 minutes ago, & frankly, I'm shocked it even made it to "straight-to-video" status.

I watched the entire thing with a scowl on my face.

Summary: Bizarre
Review: This movie has it all...bulimia, lesbians, a psychotic latina, transvestite nun, and great dialogue.

Who could ask for anything more? Check out the original Freeway, also. It's not as bizarre, but very entertaining...

Summary: Great
Review: This movie is extremely entertaining. The acting is great. The Natasha Lyonne and the actress who plays Cyclona make a great pair. David Alan Grier's part is hillarious as White Girl's Lawyer. Vincent Gallo is great as well. This film has alot of strange and gory parts in it, but it is also touching how the two main characters care and look out for eachother. I definitely recommend this movie.

Summary: excellent
Review: This movie was amazing, although the first "Freeway" was my favourite movie of all time. This movie was faboulous. Natasha Lyonne was great - her best movie ever . Vincent Gallo is faboulous as well. Cyclona is an obsessed freind and a crazy killer. You can't blame her. She was some what possesed by the devil. With Sister Gomez being a tranvestite killing children, putting intestines on the stairs, and making Cyclona watch her do, um, naughty things, This movie was incredibly frightning but wonderful. It was a little hard to handle.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This was an absolutely freaky movie. Sort of like the gory accident on the freeway that you don't want to look at, but can't seem to look away from. In spite of that, I loved this movie. I thought Cyclona was so pathetic and terrifying at the same time. And White Girl was so strong. Anyone who was raised by crazy people (now days called grossly dysfunctional)will see someone they know in this film.

It is truly Hansel & Gretel on LSD. I recommend it to everyone with an open mind and a strong stomache.
