Summary: COA fell victim to being compared too much to the original
Review: COA fell victim to too much comparison with the first movie, and lacked the real life tragedy that helped to make the first one a cult fav. Had COA come out before the first movie, and was seen and judged soley on its own, it would have received far more favorable fan reviews. This is not to say it was without faults. The film was far too short (in the theater, the runtime was under 80 minutes). The conflict within Ashe over falling in love with Sarah could have been examined alot closer, and made COA stand on its own. It was a very good plot twist that, explored in depth, would have made the movie alot better. Instead, the film makers stayed too close to the tried and true theme's of the first movie, and seemed afraid to go too far outside its borders. In a way, the filmmakers made the same mistake that fans that couldn't accept the movie made, they wanted another movie just like the first, and that was not possible. For the life of me I can not understand why some people complain that Vincent Perez's accent made his dialogue hard to understand. I had no problem understanding him, and thought his accent added a very different aire about his persona, seperating him from Brandon's Eric Draven. Like the movie itself, Perez fell victim to fans not being able to separate his character from Brandon's. Perez did not try, nor did his performance come off as being a copy of Brandon's. It was very ballsy of Perez to take on a role that he knew would pale in comparrison to Brandon's Eric Draven. Perez could have been nominated for an Oscar for his role, and COA bashers would still have a problem with him. It is impossible to follow someone who has died while playing a similar character and has been elevated to God-like status. Perez did an outstanding job, and given the movies weak points, was one of its stronger elements. COA, in time, has garnered more praise, and I think in more time it will finally be seen for the good movie it was.

Review: If you like this movie, you need a labotomy. I remember opening night it did great, and then it suddenly went to video the next month. ICK! Haven't seen this movie since! I don't know what's worse, the bad story or the fact that Vince's accent is so heavy you can't understand anything he says. At least the first one was SOMEWHAT believable... to a point. The second is all Sci-Fi and REALLY REALLY BAD... don't waste your time.

Review: potential purchaser:

the original THE CROW was an amazing piece of cinematography, and more importantly it was BRANDON LEE'S last film. out of respect for the now dead actor, the movie industry should never have made CITY OF ANGELS.

aside from the ethics concerning this film, it was a horrible attempt at remaking its predecessor (it didn't even try to be a sequel). where THE CROW enticed the audience with its gothic charm, CITY OF ANGELS causes people to become nauseated (it replaced charm with repugnance). if it were possible to rate this video less than 1 star, i would do so.

^'^ may fortune smile.

Summary: Much better than the first one
Review: Vince Perez gives a truly splendid performance of the crow. Brandon Lee tried to be a sideshow monkey in the first movie. I really love the setting Tim Pope had for this movie. Anyone who doesn't like this movie doesnt know a damn thing they are talking about. This movie brings out the true crow in a setting that appears to be in the not too distant future. Again much praise to Vince Perez and director Tim Pope!!!!!!!

Summary: A Very Different Action-Packed Sequel To "THE CROW"
Review: I have seen this movie-and I personally think that it was very good. I was never really dissapointed at any time during the movie. I really don't think that Vincent Perez's character was anything like Brandon's. I saw the original, and also thought it was very good. I think that Vincent did an excellent job,and he should be commended for it. I have purchased both CROW 1 and 2,and it think that it was money well spent. I am a very big CROW fan,and I think that the stories for both movies were very imaginative and creative. It could not have been very easy for Vincent to accept this role knowing what the outcome of the first one was. I admire him for his courage and also for the incredible talent that he constantly displayed throughout this movie. Mia Kirshner did an exceptional job creating her role as Sara, and the other actors did very well with their roles. I don't think that it is fair that this European Actor should be labeled as a"Brandon Lee wannabe" that simply is not the case. Vincent and Brandon are 2 different men,and although both Actors and being extremely talented, that is the only thing they really have in common. It is really sad what happened to Brandon-and I miss not seeing him. But-Vincent is not Brandon's replacement, and I honestly do not believe that he even considered that as an option when he decided to play the role of "Ashe Corven". The story is nothing like the first one-and there aren't even any characters that are alike. I really felt for Ashe and Danny,my heart went out to them. A young, single father raising his son,and making a living for himself and his son, what is wrong with that? the two of them are spending time together one night, Ashe working on his bike, and Danny laying on the floor painting a picture-that is something you really don't see everyday. Once Danny hears the sound of a gunshot,he gets up and runs out the door. Ashe goes after his son only to realize that Danny has seen something that was not very pleasant,by then it's already too late. Ashe had every right to be angry and do the things he did when he came back. He was just showing the emotions of a young man who had not only lost his life, but he lost another precious thing-his son. What parent would not want to get revenge on the person(s) who are responsible for murdering their child, and right in front of them. Ashe loved his son,he was everything to him-and Danny loved his dad-you could see the special bond between them in this movie. All they had was each other, and that was not really so bad. This movie was excellent!!!

Summary: Bad Sequal to a good movie.
Review: I was so disappointed when I watched this movie in the theater and I just kept hoping it would end soon. The story line was horrible! For example, Vince Perez tries to be funny when he is not unlike Brandon Lee in the first crow movie who is a bit more comical than Vince. I just hope that if a third crow movie is made, it will be better than this one. Don't waste your money on this movie! The first one is better. NUFF SAID!!

Summary: Brandon Lee must be turning in his grave
Review: If you want the recycled version of THE CROW than this is it. If not for Mia Kirshner and Iggy POp, this would have been a COMPLETE disaster. Vincent Perez gives one of the worst performances i have ever seen as Ashe, a stupid Lee-wannabe who spits one liners faster than you can say Arnold Schwarzenegger. do not waste your time

Summary: Almost as good as the original.
Review: This movie is almost as good as the original except for Tony Pope's urine yellow dusty mood which is completely the opposite of Alex Proyas dark, rainy mood.Vincent Perez did a decent job.Brandon Lee didn't do all that good of a job.Vincent Perez just wasn't hailed since Lee was in the first and gave Perez something to match up to.By the way "The Crow 2037" is in the works probably under another title set to be directed by Rob Zombie of White Zombie.

Summary: Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I thought that this movie was very good!! I have also seen The Crow but I thought that it had too much of a storyline, and that it was very complicated. But The Crow City Of Angels is easily my favorite movie and I strongly recomed that people see it!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not for general consumption.
Review: If you're anticipating gun-toting, kung-fu using, sword-fights-on-rooftops action, you'll be sorely disappointed with this movie. If you're expecting a rich backdrop of urban decay mixed with darkly sumptuous tableaus of personal depravity, you'll get what you came for. The music was adequate, and the scenes of Iggy Pop beating people down were memorable. NB: If you have no clue who Iggy Pop is, you probably won't get the movie.
