Summary: Bigger, Better, Faster, More!!!
Review: In this smashing moving picture, Blade, the vampire slayer (Wesley Snipes) is forced to make peace with the Vampire Nation in order to ward off a new, common enemy: the Reapers, a mutated race of unpleasant, Nosferatu-like creatures possessed of highly unusual dental anatomy who must feed constantly on both vampires and humans to survive. Assisting him in the quest to rid the world of Reapers are Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), Blade's grizzled mentor, Scud (Norman Reedus), weapons designer and quartermaster, and a motley crew of vampire warriors led by Reinhardt (Ron Perlman).

Connisseurs of fisticuffs, gross anatomy and the arts martial simply must see this. "Blade 2" is a non-stop barrage of filmic excess: blood, viscera, entrails, grevious bodily harm, machismo, rap music and hand-to-hand combat the likes of which I've never seen committed to the screen! For its target audience, of which I count myself part, the film has no weaknesses, other than some slight rheum in the development of plot and minor difficulty in the conveyance of feeling on the part of certain dramatis personae, namely the lovely but blank French-Chilean Leonor Varela. Age obviously has had no effect on Snipes' physique or his skills as a fighter, and his confrontations with Ron Perlman--verbal and otherwise--are a particular highlight of the film.

Amateur criticisms of the film which describe it as being either captured improperly on camera or too much derived from original works are pure balderdash! As to the first, piffle, I say! In opposition to his less skilled peers, Sr. Del Toro hereby demonstrates that it is entirely possible to engage in rapid cutting and computerized graphics without disturbing coherence. As to the second, piffle, I say! This was as original a tale as could be told of the Vampyr. Those looking for intricacies and unnecessary story complications should find themselves a good book.

Verily, I hereby declare the moving picture "Blade II" a smashing piece of entertainment for those of us who have been anticipating it with fervor. However, for those who are noncommital or averse towards this sort of film, I would recommend, perhaps, a performance of "La Boheme." My tuppence.

Summary: The Top Has Been Blown Off!!!!!
Review: I am a fan of action-packed movies. Some people have said that certain movies go over the top when it comes to action and
violence but they lack a good plot to bring it all together.Blade 2 blows the top off with action and violence and has a great plot to tie it all together. The special effects are stunning from the outset of the movie and get better as it goes along.Wesley Snipes is fantastic in his fight scenes and his competition,The Vampires and The Reapers match him punch for punch and weapon for weapon.Aside from all the killings and mayhem(which is why I like this movie so much)the plot that has Blade forming an alliance with Vampires (his sworn enemy)that is uneasy at best and could be his undoing. If you are a fan of ACTION,VIOLENCE,GORE and GOOD-STORY TELLING go see BLADE 2 and if you are not go see it anyway and see what you are missing.

Summary: one of the best
Review: Blade has always been one of my favorite movies. Ever since the day i saw it in the theater. When i heard Blade II was coming out i was really happy. So I saw it and its one of the best movies, next to the original Blade of course. ... Why does every one always have to try to find something wrong with everything.

Summary: Back and better than ever.
Review: This is a fantastic movie. Fans of Blade will just love this film. Just be warned on one thing, this is a very, violent much. Much more than the first one. But, wow, what a moive

The vampire nation that Blade has faught aganist in the first movie, askes the Daywalker for help. "You want....me...to kill them...for you?". It seems that there's a new breed of vampire out there. They are called "Reapers". The feed on vampires, then when the vampires are used up, the Reepers are then going to feed on the humans. The vampires explain this to Blade, and ask for his help. But this time, Blade isn't alone...he's has a team of vampires. Blade has to kill the Reapers. That's all I'm going to say about the plot.

The fighting is just incredible. One of my favorite scences is when Blade and some vampires fight infrot of some lights. Look for that scene. The very last scene if the movie is pretty good. I can't say much, b/c I don't want to spoil it.

Trust me when I say that if you like the first Blade, you'll love the second one.

Summary: Spectacular! Better Than the Original!
Review: Films such as "Blade II" should be taken with a grain of salt; this is action fare, after all. Realism and actuality take a back seat in this genre, so the viewer has more flexibility when it comes to objective criticism. All this being said, this film is a lot of fun to watch! I enjoyed the first movie, and this is more of the same, with better effects, and more spectacular stuntwork.

The plot is not particularly deep, but it is good enough to hold your interest in between the intense action scenes. More or less the storyline is "Blade allies himself with the vampires against an enemy even more disgusting than they are". Wesley Snipes knows what he's doing with this character, and doesn't waste time with excessive dialog or pathos--and there's no sappy love story to slow down the storyline.

Gravity-defying acrobatics, martial arts, high tech weapons (to go along with clubs, samurai swords, and Blades' vampire destroying arsenal), disintegrating bodies, and plenty of blood and guts, this film has all of it-in spades. I saw far too many young children in the theatre, and believe me, this is NOT a movie for them! This film is rife with graphic gore and dismemberment, the sort of thing that will give a youngster nightmares.

In summary, "Blade II" is great fun to watch, if this is your cup of tea. The action is spectacular, and the film doesn't take itself too seriously. Just make sure to keep the kids away...

Summary: BLADE 2
Review: Wesley Snipes is back as the ultimate vampire hunter in BLADE 2. There is a breed of monsters out in the world known as "Reapers" that feed on the blood of both humans and vampires. A leader of the vampire nation asks the vampire hunter, Blade, to team up with an elite group of vampires that call themselves The Bloodpack, in order to destroy the "Reapers" before they wipe out the human and vampire race. There is more action, horror, weapons, and special effects in this film than there were in the first. This is a worthy sequel to the original BLADE.

Summary: THE BEST [DANG] ACTION MOVIE PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I'm really not concerned with whether or not people agree with me on this one. I am an action/kung fu movie fanatic and this movie ranks up there and above everything else I've seen! The fight seens in Blade 2 were ridiculous and head and shoulders above everything else including The Matrix. Wesley brings a seriousness and intensity to the screen like Jet Li does in Kiss of the Dragon (one of the best action movies out there). If you're going to make an action movie, make it "over the top" and ultra-violent. I loved Rush Hour 1 & 2 but who cares about comedy in an action movie! The fight Blade had w/Nyssa and her partner, the fight Blade has w/the guards at the end, and the final battle all left me speechless! They had elements of intensity and creativity that other movies lack. This is great for fans though b/c other action stars will HAVE to step their game up to compete w/this film!!!!!!!!

Summary: I didn't like it because....
Review: For me, it had too much action and not enough plot development, character development, or any other development of any kind. At first I thought that the fighting was very good and yeah, it was. But it is also very fast and very repetitious. I began to get bored after the first three minutes of each fighting scene, which was about the whole movie. There is very minimal dialogue, and the scene when Blade first meets the BloodPack is one of the most talky parts of the movie. That is another thing. I thought the BloodPack were sooo cool, so cool! In fact, I will write a fanfiction based on them, just to flesh them out a whole lot more! They could've taken out a couple of minutes of fighting in order to develop any of the characters, even Blade himself, a little bit more. I know this is a horror/action movie, but that doesn't mean that you have to completely forgo any sort of connection your audience might have with a character! Also, I didn't buy the whole Reaper thing at all, mainly in the way they did it. All in all, a good idea but very poorly executed.

Summary: If you like gratuitous violence and gore, then....
Review: If you like gratuitous violence and gore, then BLADE II is your kind of movie. I didn't see the first BLADE, so I can't compare II to it. I'm just basing my opinion and impression on what I saw today. First off the movie is extremely violent and the gore is frequently graphic, more so than even the Hughes' brothers FROM HELL starring Johnny Depp.

While the action scenes are great entertainment, that is the film's only selling point. BLADE II features some of the worst dialogue I've heard in any movie in some time, especially a horror movie. It's hardly scary and never creepy, just gross.
The first half was interesting and exciting, but the last half-hour is just one downhill slide into mediocrity and cliche.

The ending scenes are full of some the corniest movie cliches, usually reserved for pulp romance films. No kidding the ending's closing moments are that bad. You don't come to a movie like BLADE II expecting Shakespeare or Shaw, but you'd think the screenwriters would've set a minimum standard for believability.

Most surprising is that the director, Guillermo del Toro, directed the independent Spanish war/ghost story THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE, which couldn't be more different from BLADE II. I saw and really liked DEVIL'S BACKBONE, but can't say the same for this pulp effort.

Lots of money was spent, but it was mostly a waste of Wesley Snipes' talent, as well as a waste of 8 dollars and 2 hours of my time.

I hold out hope that the first BLADE is much better!
