Summary: bone-crunching fun for martial arts cinema fans!
Review: Forget all the countless knock-offs and recycled versions that are out there, this is the version to pick up. Not only are both films presented in their original aspect ratio (Actionscope aka 2.35:1) but these are the uncut versions as well! Watch as Sonny Chiba gleefully gouges, pokes and tears into his enemies.

The plot is a bit hard to follow but who cares? So long as Chiba is on screen, grimacing, giving his best Clint Eastwood stare and beating the poop out of somebody.

STREET FIGHTER is arguably, Chiba's best movie to date and it is great to see it given such a glorious digital treatment. You can throw away your crappy pan and scam VHS copies for this bad boy.

Summary: A couple of fun movies
Review: I first heard of Sonny Chiba while watching the movie, True Romance, w/Christian Slater. I then saw Streetfighter on some cable channel, but it was a poor version. I took a chance on this DVD, and I was really suprised to find a very good version for such a low price. The stories can get confusing, but essentially, it's a tale of revenge. Sonny Chiba takes down all those who done him wrong, quite brutally. Great martial arts action. And besides, who watches martial arts movies for the stories? And two movies for ten bucks? Not a bad deal.

Summary: Garbage. pure garbage....
Review: The elevator music they play throughout the movie is unbearable.
The fight sequences were slow and corny. The leading character
looks like a doofus *not sonny*. Don't bother even looking for it at blockbuster.

Summary: The One
Review: The Streetfighter starts out with a relatively confusing encounter between what appears to be a prisoner and a priest (played by Chiba). The action heats up faster than a leaky lighter. Before we know it, Chiba has the sole of his foot (upside down no less) in the mouth of this outclassed opponent. The movie ends in one of the great windy, rainy, pre-Lethal Weapon 2, showdowns. Sonny Chiba fills the screen with intensity, purpose and keeps us at the edge of our seats. Why didn't they get better looking babes and make it a full platter?

Summary: Too bland a kung-fu title
Review: There are two problems with this movie: 1) It is way too mediocre and has the usual cliches, and 2) the villain is by far much more competant than the hero and certainly takes up more screen time since he is deservedly so.

Any way, get this only if you like the Kung-fu films...a lot. I mean Kung-Fu fanboy like. It has no real innovative, provocative plot, the fights are so-so, and the characters are killed off discriminantly. Pretty much your average kung-fu fair.

Review: This and THE EXECUTIONER are Sonny Chiba's best movies! The DVD from this company is the best version of The Street fighter 1&2 you will find," thanks Diamond Entertainment." The sound is nice and loud and the movie is presented in Widescreen. Sonny is brutal and crazy in this film kicking double crossing mobster... All the classics should be this good and better, if not any extra features, at the least this good! Get this movie now! At this price its way, way better than some of the {bad} quality martial arts DVDs they've release! If you want to see Sonny now, check out THE STORMRIDERS.

Summary: The best presentation of these films currently available!
Review: This double feature DVD is one of my favorites discs. Sure, it's a little bare bones (you get a menu to choose which film to see, and a small biography on star Sonny Chiba, while the themesong from the movies plays), that doesn't matter, because for this price, it's a steal! You get the original film, "The Street Fighter", in it's totally uncut version, and widescreen to boot! The first movie released in America rated X for violence! Sonny Chiba is an unstoppable force! And you also get the ultra-rare UNCUT version of "Return of the Street Fighter"!! This release is the only one I know of that is totally uncut, not even the New Line version is uncut. This rare version even contains the infamous "eyeball" scene, where Chiba chops a thug in the back of the head and his eyes bulge out! You have to get this disc!

Review: this is one of those over-looked movies. i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the picture transfer could have been much better. one of the things that make this movie is the 70's music set to the fighting scenes, it fits perfectly. one thing is the realilistic costumes of the ninja. for example you don't find almost any ninja in black, they wear camoflauge, lite gray, and period dress, which is what they really wore. and the variety of the ninja is nice too, spider-ninja, monk-ninja, samuria-ninja, etc. also three different ninja clans battling each other. the action is on par with todays standarts.
