Summary: Still kicks ...
Review: Still engrossing and gross after all these years. This DVD edition is amazing it gives so much information and the crystal clear format is remarkable. I mean you almost feel like you have an ear in your hand covered in blood it is so clear.
This movie is not for the faint of heart but the story is stil strong.

Summary: Narcissism at it's best
Review: Another "witty", implausible Tarantino romp, whereby all the characters seem to be representations of Tarantino himself. This movie is beyond ridiculous, I really do not think it will stand the test of time. Highly derivative, do you really think that after a botched robbery, the thieves would head back to the warehouse!!??? And would the Boss go to that said warehouse??? Never!!

Also, missing "interior of the jewelry exchange during the robbery" scenes from an earlier 90's VHS release, not that they made the film that much better, but they added insight to the maniacal behavior of Madsen.

Summary: Better than Pulp Fiction
Review: Personally, I found this to be better than Pulp Fiction by a bit. It moves at a much faster pace than Pulp Fiction does, and it's a far more interesting movie! It's more violent than Pulp Fiction, but more comical as well.

THE STORY: Six strangers were teamed up for the perfect crime. To rob a jewelry store and get away clean with diamonds. But the robbery goes bad... As the robbers came in, they were immediately ambushed by cops. One of the robbers is killed, and another critically injured. The surviving five robbers are holed up in a warehouse, where they begin to suspect that one of them is an undercover cop, but which one?

Great movie.

Rated R for extreme violence and gore, and excessive profanity.

Summary: Best Tarentino Movie...
Review: Definately give this one a shot. I love gritty crime dramas and I wasn't dissappointed here. The writer definately did a good job. Each man has a color, and each seems to have a different outlook. For example, Mr. White is a noble thief while Mr. Pink is a soullessly logical thief. Pay attention while you watch, and you'll notice their distinct personalities. I'm not going to reveal anything else because if I did I'd ruin the movie. A movie worth watching and re-watching

Summary: Alright. What is up with this box set?
Review: First of all, let me start off saying I love this movie with all my heart but, what's with the box set. Anyone who buys this is just plain stupid. The content is exactly the same on all the discs. There is no point in releasing a box set for the same movie with the same content on all 4 discs. The 5 stars are for the movie because, it rocks but I don't know about this box set crap

Summary: Lives up to its top class name!
Review: In my youthful days, when I wasnt sure of who Harvey Kietel was, I heard of this film. Its premise was brilliant. A bank robbery gone wrong, who was the police mole?

When I first saw it I was amazed at how it lived up to its huge reputation. Harvey Kietal reminded me of why nowadays he is one of fave actors and I had never thought it would be more enjoyable than Tarantinos other top film - "Pulp Fiction".

If you enjoy action thrillers then this will be a treat. The now legendary scene of the "dogs" walking down the street while that music plays is a movie landmark.

Steve Buscemi proves he can be serious and still be funny. It is a film you have to see to believe.

Summary: Reservoir Dogs
Review: First off if you don't like much blood/violence or cussing in a movie, then by all means stray far away from this one. On the other hand if you don't mind, then I recommend this movie to anyone who's got about an hour or two to blow. Starting the movie with a pleasant conversation about the Madonna song 'Like A Virgin' and Mr. Pink's views on tipping at a resteraunt then going straight into the bloody massacre that occurs after a robbery goes wrong, this movie gets your attention from start to finish. The concept of having flashbacks explaining character backgrounds or scenes from the robbery add greatly to the effectiveness of this movie. With a well executed plot and the great acting, this is one that will be remembered.

Summary: Why was this cheaper?
Review: I have no idea why the Mr Brown Edition was cheaper than the others. The two discs included are identical, except that one is widescreen and the other is "full-screen" DVD marketing is very screwy- I'm still not sure how this differs from the original release

Summary: Brilliant!
Review: This movie is probably up there in one of my favorites. This is a great movie about a robbery gone wrong. Quentin Terantino's great dialogue brought this movie together with his great skill in directing. This movie is very special because unlike much other bank robbery movies, this doesn't focus on the reward(example: money). This movie is made so the viewer watches the act of everything going on, everything that is in between the actual robbery. It's like reading in between the lines, but Terantino gives the viewer the image. This new kind of image creates a brillant film, which i thought had one of the most creative endings. *NO SPOILERS DONT WORRY* My favorite part in this movie is in the beginning of the movie when Steve Buscemi gives the whole speech on tipping...that was just some top notch dialogue. Overall this movie is a hit. This movie more than worthy to be in any person's dvd collection.

Summary: Violence as Poetry
Review: First things first, I'm not going to call Reservoir Dogs 'Quentin Tarantino's best movie', because I love all of his movies dearly and I will not pick favorites. Nevertheless, as of the last time I saw the three of them (the other ones being, of course, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. I'm not counting Four Rooms, because he only had one segment in it - even if it was the best part of the movie), Reservoir Dogs was the one I enjoyed most.

A brief overview: Lawrence Tierney is Joe Cabot, and Chris Penn is his son 'Nice Guy' Eddie. Joe is a crime boss planning a diamond heist, and for the operation he hires six men, all of them acquainted with Cabot but none of which knows each other. To avoid having any details about one another they keep their identities secret and call each other by code names: Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), Mr. Pink (the always wonderful Steve Buscemi), Mr. Blonde (action star Michael Madsen in the part of a lifetime), Mr. Blue (Eddie Bunker) and Mr. Brown (Tarantino himself, who gets killed at the very beginning of the movie). When the robbery becomes a bloodbath, the thieves escape to the rendezvous and try to figure out what went wrong and who's responsible.

The movie is basically a very small scale theatrical production, as the main body of the story takes place in only one location, although there are several flashbacks that play a very important part in the film. The movie caused a lot of buzz at the time of its release partly due to its high level of violence, but today it seems much less shocking and that gives us a chance to better appreciate Tarantino's unique storytelling abilities - especially since having also seen Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown we can now safely assume that its success wasn't a one time thing. Tarantino's dialogue is brilliant beyond competition and his juxtaposition of conversations about life-and-death issues and mindless chatter about the most minor trivialities of life makes his movies a treat to watch (Note the Madonna conversation in the beginning of Reservoir Dogs and the Delfonics chats in Jackie Brown. While I'm on the subject, the use of music here is brilliant, as Quentin juxtaposes a nostalgic 70s radio show with the film's most violent scenes). The poetry and beauty put into the most violent sequences are as enchanting as they are shocking, and Michael Madsen's torture scene, backed with Stealer's Wheel's 1970s hit 'Stuck In The Middle With You', became an instant timeless classic.

Tarantino is of course the main guy in this classic, but the actors are all worthy of praise. Harvey Keitel is a great straight man, who seems to be the only honest person in the film, and the always nervous and catatonic Steve Buscemi balances him out. Michael Madsen and Tim Roth are both spectacular, and Lawrence Tierney is brilliant (as another character describes him - "You remember the Fantastic Four?... The Thing. He looks just like The Thing.") The relationships forming between the six individuals, all of the complete strangers, make Reservoir Dogs a really fascinating watch. Tarantino is a picky director; he makes few movies, but the ones he makes really count. I'm waiting for his next release, 'Kill Bill', eagerly. If you missed out on any of his three masterpieces, don't.
